It was the sacredness of blood to the Creator…..representing life itself.
And for those shedding blood, God would demand an accounting. Imagine how much blood is on Christendom’s hands as she has supported the wars of the nations.

For the life of every creature is its blood: its blood is its life. Therefore I have said to the people of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off. (ESV)
Consuming the blood of “any creature” carried the death penalty. So if an Israelite was starving to death and killed an animal and consumed it without first draining its blood was committing a capital crime.

When humans are unable to eat by mouth, how are they often fed? Is it not intravenously? The manner of consumption is irrelevant….we are not to take the blood of any creature, man or animal into our bodies.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are experts on bloodless medicine and this is why doctors consult them when contemplating surgery for their Witness patients. Many techniques are now available for all patients not wishing to accept what is another person’s DNA.

If a doctor was to tell a patient with liver disease to “abstain“ from alcohol, could they refrain from drinking it but take it directly into their veins? Does the manner of consumption really matter if the directive is to “abstain”?

Lastly, the command was repeated to the Christians….
Acts 15:28-29 in settling the circumcision debate, the apostles said….
“For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell. (ESV)
Abstaining from blood is a “requirement”……so if you want to argue with God about that, you go right ahead.
For us, this is, was, and always will be our resolute, scripturally based position.

It is never reported that those Witnesses who died at the hands of doctors who would not operate without blood, often did so because the doctor refused to do anything, when there are so many option available now. Those advances in medicine also apply to the alternatives to blood transfusion. Much safer options are available for any patient, not just Witnesses.

”Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” (ESV)

Saving your life (if you think that is what a blood transfusion does) by breaking a clearly stated law of God, will result in losing it.

As for blood fractions….we take into consideration what is passed from mother to child in the womb….if certain fractions flow between the two who can have completely different blood groups, then we do not view blood fractions the same way as whole blood, which is what the Biblical command is about.

And tell me please if all who take these blood fractions are blood donors? Your arguments are very one sided and hollow. But you can believe whatever you wish…..it doesn’t alter anything for us.

The point wasn't about whether blood transfusions are good or bad, that's up to you to decide. My point was to expose the hypocrisy of the Watchtower.
