Well it says the Very elect.... Matthew 24:24....so rephrasing what is the difference between the elect and the very elect...or is their a difference?
Since the Calvinist are having a hard time proving that God specifically chose them for salvation, the trend I see now is to shift focus over to the idea that proof is not needed and you can’t prove anything.
If you can’t prove anything then we can throw our Bible away. I can say what I want, you can say what you want, others can say what they want, and we are all right and nothing is wrong since it “can’t be proven”.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
How do you try the spirits if there is no proof. You can’t know if they are right or not.
How do you know who to preach to?
This attitude shouldn’t surprise me since we now can’t even prove if one is a girl or guy. Parts don’t matter anymore.

I don’t think it is speaking of degree. Other translations use the phrase.
Even the elect.
They will mislead, if possible, even the elect.

In your claim that Chris uses an unbiblical definition of foreknowledge, would you mind showing from the Bible your definition?
Since the basic linguistic meaning of the word is to know ahead of time, where do we find this defined another way?

Foreknowledge in the Greek is a verb, meaning God’s foreknowledge is not that He merely knows something ahead of time, but that He actually does something in foreknowing them. Them He foreknew means He elected them...He did something. Ppl are conflating this with His omniscience. He knows everybody whoever lived by His omniscience, but only foreknows His elect via foreknowledge.

If this thread were titled "All who made themselves the elect of God by electing yourselves please stand up!" every false gospelizer in here would stand up. It is a denial of grade and is nothing less than meritorious salvation.
When we claim God elected us to salvation they call it arrogant, knowing full well that biblical election is not meritorious, not based on a thing good or a thing done in us, but is solely of grace. Lol!!!

You are saved because you believe? Is that what you mean to say?
Don't you mean that you were saved from the wrath of God because God chose you to be saved, and as a result of His choosing, now you believe?
I thought your believing had nothing to do with your being saved. Do I misunderstand?

Will you show us in the Bible where it means God saw you'd choose him so he chose you? Then show us how that's not meritorious? And how you did that while dead in sin and unable? And how meritorious choosing is unmerited favor (grace)?

Oh . . . let's all "prove" our salvation! Prove our election? Right!
