    Persecution today?

That's if you believe Covid was really as bad as we were led to believe; I don't. I certainly don't agree with the way it was handled. Either way, we were essentially following Communist China's playbook on dealing with a pandemic. It's something that was never done before in the West on such a...

    Our Enemies As Christians

How then do we reconcile God commanding a human army (the Isralites) to kill everything that breathes (Deu 20:16)? Yes, this was under the Old Covenant before there were Christians, but God Himself said He changes not (Mal 3:16). Even some early Christians, such as Saint Augustine of Hippo and...

    Persecution today?

I would define persecution as the use of physical force against someone's belief system. I think what many Christians experience in the West is more discrimination than outright persecution. But discrimination usually leads to full-on persecution if left unchecked.

i am the only one who has had a painful childhood?

Same; I was picked on and harassed throughout my school years. One of my bullies was way smaller than me. I was always taller than average, but I was the shy, quiet type, so I never fought back. I remember once he ran away from home, so he must not have had a good home life and took it out on me...

Life in the Tribal Bubble - The unReal world?

True, but I would note that Jesus never called himself a friend of tax collectors and sinners. He's just quoting the criticism that the Pharisees and other religious leaders were saying about him. He also called Judas a friend as he was about to betray him when clearly he was no friend: Matthew...

    Our Enemies As Christians

I would make a distinction between violence and self-defense. Violence is the use of force to harm someone else, while self-defense is the use of physical force to protect oneself from harm. This ties in with the sixth commandment: thou shalt not murder. Again, a distinction must be made between...

    Our Enemies As Christians

These are difficult passages to reconcile with. On an individual level, it is how we should treat our enemies. Vengence is the Lord's, and for good reason. He can handle it; we cannot. I would note that it doesn't say how we should pray for our enemies. The saints who are marytered in Revelation...

Life in the Tribal Bubble - The unReal world?

Friend may be a bit much. He preached to sinners and even ate with them. But he was friends with his apostles, who he actually hung out with the most. He was in the world but not of it. Is that a fair criticism? I don't know any Christians that are that insulated unless they live in a...

Is the story of Adam & Eve a parable?

I believe it's literal. Even science accepts the idea that we originated from a common ancestor, whom they refer to as Mitochondrial Eve, though they stop short of accepting the biblical narrative. The bible doesn't say where all the races came from, really ethnicities, as we are all part of the...

    Robert F Kennedy Full Speech

I never knew those numbers before. That is quite staggering. The U.S. government has become a juggernaut whose sole purpose is to engorge itself at our expense. This is who the deepstate is. Adiminstrations come and go, but these unelected bureaucrats remain.

    The History of Satan

This is answered in my thread Did God threaten to do evil? regarding Exodus 32:14. Excerpt: So, a couple of things: A) By using that word, it implies that God is doing something evil, which, as stated above, is contrary to God's character. B) Not all translations of Job 42:11 use the word...

    Robert F Kennedy Full Speech

I've heard excerpts from his speech (if this is the same one) and it really is an indictment of the modern Democrat party. I wouldn't agree with every position he has, but he is spot on when it comes to Big Pharma, vaccines, the WHO\CDC, etc. I would have no problem if Trump turned him lose on...

Addressing the the ethical eating argument

Thanks for the reply. I think it's an emotional argument more than anything. It's the result of being "civilized" and insulated from the realities of nature. All of our food is produced out of sight and out of mind. We are so far removed from having to hunt and kill our own food that people have...

    The History of Satan

I answered that already. Livestock was a measure of wealth, not to mention their livelihood. Satan attacked Job every way possible. First you said God did it, then you say it was a human adversary who did it. Which is it?

How could any "Christian" vote for Dems that fight for the right to kill 60 million babies???

There is a group of women who go to my gym. They're very loud and opinionated, so I unintentionally overhear their conversations. One in particular is very pro-Democrat, anti-Trump, and supports abortion. They probably all do. So, I hear them talking about trying to be godly. One of them said...

Venezuelan migrant gangs take over two apartment buildings, extort money from the tenants

Maduro is sending their worst here. I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing his bidding either.

How could any "Christian" vote for Dems that fight for the right to kill 60 million babies???

The big problem with that is, it's not just the mother involved. There's another life involved that's inside the mother but also a separate being who doesn't get a say. It would be morally wrong, and illegal, for a person to try and kill another person, and efforts would be made to stop that...
  18. Without Excuse

    Death

Death has been on my mind a lot lately. Some of it stems from me being more aware of my own mortality the older I've gotten. But also, my elderly parents are both in their 80s and don't have many years left. It's not easy coming to grips that one day they won't be here. It's not something I'm...

    The History of Satan

Satan states that God had placed a hedge or protection around Job's home and property (Job 1:10). God temporarily removed that hedge of protection and gave Satan permission to test Job but not to harm him physically. Job 1:12 makes it clear that it is Satan's doing, not God's. To say that it was...
