I received the blood that gave eternal life

because of it, as Jesus promised, I will never hunger never thirst, I will never die, I will live forever, I have eternal life, and I have gods promise that he will raise me

stop working for food which perishes and instead seek the food which endures forever
I receive His flesh and blood, as He commanded every time I attend Mass (Luke 22:19–20; Matt. 26:26–28; Mark 14:22–24; 1 Cor. 11:23–25).

I cooperate with my boss to get a salary, I cooperate with people to recieve something I earn

grace is freely given. It can not be earned
So, you can actually disobey God and openly live in rebellion against Him and continue receiving His saving grace??
That's called the heresy of "easy-believism" . . .

No one saved can do that (He who sins has never seen or known God)

you need to study John. And stop listening to your leaders,

That's why I prefaced my post with "'IF' you are a language teacher - this should interest you."
Apparently, it didn't, because it doesn't seem that you take languages seriously.

As I stated, Ignatius was was appointed to the Bishopric of Antioch by Apostle Peter, was a student of the Apostle John, who learned from Christ Himself. This was not some guy who learned about Christ 1500 years later, separated by dozens of generations. The "Catholic Church" was being used as a Title - not just a description - by the end of the First century.

Unless you believe that Jesus lied in Matt. 16:18, when He guaranteed that the gates of hell would NOT prevail against His Church - then your current position is flawed.
I certainly am an English teacher and have been for years.

When anyone, including the men who are considered “church fathers,” says something that contradicts what Jesus said, I go with what Jesus said. It’s as simple as that.

Hi, BOL, sorry, but Polycarp sounds like a fish, lol.

All believers make up the universal Church, and another word for universal is catholic. Perhaps the organization that came to be known as the Catholic Church should have chosen another name because it has NEVER represented ALL believers on earth at any one time. IF Polycarp was saying that it did, then he had it wrong. At present, the CC doesn't even represent most believers on earth.

I believe it was Jesus Christ who said, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt 18:20).
I have but one name for the catholic church of Rome . DOT . Even from its birth .
It would be like mormons had they called themselves catholic or muslims had they called themselves catholic . an oxy moron .
I have read many books in that library both from catholics and from those who oppose that church .
And i warn us all , even from its birth it was DOT .

Actually I did

I mentioned John

John 3. No baptism (No water and spirit does not mean baptism, if it did Jesus would have said it)
John 4 no baptism
John 5 no baptism
John 6 no baptism

how about Eph 1-2. No baptism

yet all those people were saved

No need for faith
Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ (Acts 2:21)
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom 10:13)
by grace you have been saved (Eph 2:5)
None of those mention faith.

No the other hand:

The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; (Mk 16;16)
This prefigured baptism, which saves you now (1Pet 3:20-21)
he saved us….. through the water of rebirth [baptism] and renewal by the Holy Spirit. (Titus 3:5).

Peter (said) to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit……. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day……. And every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved. (Acts 2:38, 41, 47)

When did Jesus contradict the title, "The Catholic Church"?

Yep

the food you eat does not endure forever, that means it’s not the food Jesus came to give.

what you eat is no better than manna, you eat and can still die

You don't believe then?

Does someone believe for you?
It’s the work of god I believe John 6

did Jesus mess up?

John 6 28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

NONE of your works in Christ are YOUR works.
They were prepared FOR you BY God (Eph. 2:10).

Therefore - YOUR belief in God IS a work - just like @Mungo said.
Yep

and I work to earn

I can’t work to earn salvation,

NOT BY WORKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS WHICH I HAVE DONE BUT By HIS MERCY HE SAVED ME.

I keep mentioning this passage in titus you keep ignoring it. Continue to ignore it at your own peril
