John 14
1“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
You are the house of God, silly.

Indeed it is!

Everyone that has ascended the active life (the practice of God’s commandments) as if it were a first story, and has engaged in natural contemplation (the 2nd story - Romans 1:20), and has also established himself through undoubting faith to the height of theology (3rd story), but then neglects the divine word and falls asleep, he falls from the aforesaid spiritual story. Nevertheless, if the teaching of the Word, falling upon him – like Paul did to Eutychus – finds something alive in him that is not completely dead by despair, he is given life again through repentance. - Saint Maximus, Questions and Doubts

I believe that the third story of the building is living in Romans 8, the second story is Romans 7, and the first story is unbelief..

Thus, falling from the 3rd story to the 2nd story is not the same thing as falling away.

I try to avoid spiritualizing Scripture that isn't designated as such. Sometimes leads to spiritualism, I hear. :)
What would be the hidden meaning there?

;)

Each will have their own, at least, that's what I've seen.

Much love!

That's not a dwelling for God, it's a dwelling for you.

Silly!

I forget everyone is looking for a futuristic pie in the sky castle.
John 14:23 KJV
[23] Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

We will be given glorified bodies that are free from the presence of sin. We will be incapable of sinning, not because we have been made into robots; but because we have been made into new creatures in Christ (to more of an extent than now; in our physical bodies as well as what is now, that our spirits are made born again
exactly very well put AMEN

Hopefully not housebound.
But what I was really meaning in that post, is that when we spiritualize Scriptures without something in text indicating that, and something also indicating how to understand it in a spiritual way, without that, it seems to me that everyone ends up with different spiritual meanings.

So I look for wording in the text, like, my words are spirit, and then a way to understand it, I am the true bread sent from heaven, and so on. That passage is a great example because it shows the wrong way, and the right way. Like the Parables. We're given the key to understanding.

Much love!

Why do you denigrate my hope as if I'm just grasping for some "pie in the sky castle"?

Futuristic . . . let's say, futurist, 70th week, pre-trib rapture, gone into heaven with Jesus until we return to inhabit the earth, then the new heaven and earth, undivided I think, into eternity.

Because I like this little daydream? Or because I've prayerfully studied this in depth for decades and have reached this conclusion?

Much love!

It is well established by scholars everywhere that the reference is to Lucifer. You may as well say the serpent on the pole doesn't represent Christ. I thought you were leaving us, btw. Welcome back.
"Lucifer" also isn't mentioned in that chapter. Strange what the scholars come up with and can't produce the evidence for.

I'll bet you have. You just subscribe to an alternative interpretation.

You've never read this?:
who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
(Acts 1:11)
The disciples were "gazing" just as the seventy gazed at Mount Sinai. The angels are probably still wondering why people are still gazing.

No, for even the unclean animals were saved from the flood. The ones outside of the ark died.
