According to the great Charles Spurgeon, anyone who subscribes to "Jesuit Futurism" aka "Left Behind Theology" which essentially teaches that Antichrist is a single man who will arise at the end of time during the "last seven years of tribulation"...IS INSANE. How right you are, Mr. Spurgeon, for anyone who is so foolish to believe Jesuit theology - which sole purpose is both the destruction of Protestants and Protestantism by the attempt to clear the Papacy of all Biblically based charges that it is the Antichrist - over believing Bible theology, which in no uncertain terms proves by description the identity of the Antichrist as being none other than the Papacy, MUST BE INSANE. Only an insane person would pay homage and respect to an organization which is bent on his destruction.

I also agree. Its getting old on all sides. After taking a month off I have revamped the way I will post. I will still debate doctrine with as much spit and vinigar as needed. But I will take every step not to allow it to become personal: either in name or Church affiliation. Bold, but not brash. Confident, but not cocky. Cautious, but not cowardly. Only God's love can cover a multitude of sins, friend. The Pope would do well to turn from the misguided philosophy of the Papacy and put his full trust in Jesus.

As for Spurgeon's position, he is absolutely correct in identifying the Papacy as the Antichrist b/c the word Antichrist means exactly "take the place of Christ", which is exactly what the Papacy claims to do. Thank God there is hope for even those who make this claim - they must turn from this blasphemous philosophy and trust Jesus alone.

Christians everywhere are "watchmen on the wall" and are obliged to sound the alarm when confronted with false doctrine, lest the blood of those who perish in false doctrine shall be on the watchmen's hands.

well i dunno, A good deed covers many sins, and i am not interested in judging what is to me another man's servant. Protestantism strikes me as no less death centric, but religion is very hard to escape anyway, i guess.

My Religion Is Better Than Your Religion is kind of a sign, imo. I can't help but think that when push comes to shove, your pov will force you into the position of backing Stranger's Christian Arms Race lol. If you are forced to pick a side, then imo you are in the world; as hard as the alternative may be to contemplate.

Of course it is presented to you as the choice between good and evil, but this can be shown to be false when you cannot witness any sins committed upon you by the pope. Are you being coerced to join the RCC or something? Are you worried that your Catholic neighbor is maybe like out to get you?

While some case might be made for these, and i might even agree with you on some level, that level will invariably be in the world, it seems to me, and i have not been able to come up with a case in which it is not, personally. Catholics appear to reap what they sow, just like everyone else.

I don't think we can point any fingers because as long as we think we got it then we are as guilty as the next guy.
It is God's doing and His alone and if we are sensitive to that we won't judge. It says Moses was the most humble man in all Israel when from our perspective he had all the goods to be a big man..

Iforrest, oppose the Catholic church on what grounds? That it is dishonest? Corrupt? Bigoted? Yes, we do see such things presented here, and with good reason. But, opposing the Papacy (the union of the Catholic church with the secular state) as the Antichrist of Bible Prophecy? We don't see hardly any of that, because most Christians today, according to Spurgeon, are insane. They refuse to acknowledge the significance of these facts:

1) Since the time of Luther, though Protestants had differences of opinion over various Bible topics, without exception they believed and taught the eschatological interpretation of Historicism, including Spurgeon, which identifies the Papacy as Antichrist.

2) The popular "left behind theology" of Jesuit Futurism is traced right back to the Vatican in a time when Historicism had so devastated the power and influence of the Papacy that the only solution was to convince Christians to look elsewhere for Antichrist - to the past (Preterism), the Future (Jesuit Furturism), anywhere but Rome.

3) Jesuit Preterism and Jesuit Futurism resulted from men arrogantly disregarding the cardinal rule of Hermeneutics - that we are to lay aside our beliefs and prayerfully seek God to reveal to us truth from His Word - as they approached the Bible seeking to defend what they believed was their "holy" Papal institution. Anyone who professes to be a Protestant but subscribes to either of these ideas is unfortunately guilty of the same.

Spurgeon is not a bigot, he is just read the Bible with his eyes open and the Holy Spirit revealed to him - as He has done for millions upon millions of others - that the the Papacy is the Antichrist. However, the absolute most supersonically bigoted organization to ever grace the topside of the earth can be none other that the Roman Catholic church, who literally by the sword of the state slaughtered millions upon millions of innocent Christians for the crime of "heresy".

According to Cardinal Baudrillart of France in the book published in 1908, The Catholic Church, the Renaissance, and Protestantism, pp. 182-184, a book bearing the sanction of the RCC, we read: "Nevertheless, when confronted by heresy, she does not content herself with persuasion; arguments of an intellectual and moral order appear to her insufficient, and she has recourse to force, to corporal punishment, to torture...calls on the laws of the State to her aid...encourages a crusade, or a religious war and all her "horror of blood" practically culminates into urging the secular power to shed it (blood)...instead of shedding it herself...she lit in Italy, in the Low Countries, and above all in Spain, the funeral piles of the Inquisition."

I don't know too much about this but I do know that it's very unlikely that ANYTHING will come out of Rome. It's not efficient or organized enough.
