Why did God use the symbol of a Snake, to represent Christ on the Cross?
Never really thought of this. Only think I can quickly think of is the snakes were what was killing the people. so the bronze serpent healed.

Its interesting that the medical symbol for the military and other services is a snake on a pole, (actually two serpents)

It has to do with the Conversation about Penal Substitutionary Atonement on the other Thread. The Fiery Serpents are symbolic of Sin, the Serpent on the Cross is Christ becoming Sin on our behalf...

PSA was Prophesied. Salvation from Sin, requires God's Punishment of it...

And Moses not being able to bear the Serpent Cross, symbolizes that we can't be Saved by the Law. Moses was only allowed to peer into the Promised Land; not enter it. The Law leads us to Christ. Joshua, Yeshua (Jesus), leads God's people into the Promised Land...

Moses could not enter the promised land not because he had done anything wrong, but because God did not need another king to lead his people. God needed to lead them himself.

But then there was a king, because Jesus Christ was coming, because Jesus Christ is the king.

Vitality ~ by ReverendRV * December 15

Deuteronomy 34:7 BSB
; Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak, and his vitality had not diminished.

Have you ever watched a child and wished you had their energy? Most of us start winding down in our old age, but a few of us are full of Vitality even in the twilight of our lives. The Bible has a few examples of people with such vigor; Caleb is one of them. Moses also had good eyesight, and he needed it. Since Moses Sinned against God, he was only allowed to see the Promised Land from afar. ~ Have you ever heard of the Law of Moses? God made a Covenant with Israel, and the People agreed with God that if they kept the Covenant; this will be their Righteousness. God gave his Law thru Moses; it’s one reason why it bears his name. But another reason is because Moses was a prophetic ‘Type’; he personified the Covenant of Works. He could only bring Israel close enough to See the Promised Land; then fall short…

You object, “Falling short is Vitality?” ~ Biblically speaking, the Law of Moses is only meant to show us we’re Sinners; in this way ‘its’ Vitality has not diminished. Have you ever told a Lie? What do you call people who tell Lies? The Law of Moses shows you are a Liar; it’s still as strong as ever. Have you ever Stolen anything? Have you ever Coveted your Neighbor’s possessions? No? Come on, you’ve admitted you want the energy of a child; Youth is wasted on the Young. You know your Neighbor has something you wish you could just take! Thou shall not Covet your neighbor’s Wife; Coveting is Theft AND Adultery of the heart. These were just four of the Ten Commandments, if God judges you by the Law of Moses, would you be innocent or guilty? Would you go to Hell or to Heaven? Is your Conscience bothering you?

Moses was vital enough to lead you to the outskirts of the Promised Land; but what you need is a Joshua to lead you into the Promised Land. Moses is analogous of the Old Covenant, but Joshua is analogous of the New Covenant of God; and he’s a “Type” of Jesus Christ. ~ For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting Life. Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God who gave up his Life on the Cross to pay an eternal death penalty that he didn’t deserve. He rose from the dead, defeating the Grave and Hell! We’re Saved by the Grace of God through Faith in the risen Savior Jesus Christ, without Hoping our vitality is good enough to get us to the Pearly Gates. Repent of your Sin, Confess Jesus Christ as your Lord God; visit a local Church and tell them God has Forgiven you. ~ Moses had a life long Vitality; but Jesus has an Everlasting Vitality! Christ said the Law of Moses would not pass away until every Jot and Tittle was fulfilled; and Jesus did that by always keeping the Law of Moses. God buried Moses in Moab; so as God, Jesus Christ buries the Law of Moses for us. You are the Widow of Moses and are now the Bride of Jesus; under the better Law of Christ…

Deuteronomy 34:6 NLT; The LORD buried him in a valley near Beth-peor in Moab, but to this day no one knows the exact place.
