I am not sure. I need to get in touch with my niece (Lexie is my grandniece) I talked to her yesterday and she said something about the treatment had knocked down leukemia cells to 1% ( I am not sure what that means but it sounds like it's working)How did the procedure go ?
How often does she have to go and have treatment, so I can add that to my calender xxx

Lukemia is a form of cancer that is highly treatable anymore. It's not the same as it used to be.
Better drugs and understanding of the disease than ever before. For some people it's just a prescription they take for a few months. For others it's the chemotherapy treatments and losing your hair.
Most cases are recovered from anymore.
I can remember when it wasn't so curable. Lost a few friends to it. During that time it grew to 50% chance of surviving by getting it to go into remission....now? Very different.
When they start talking about bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy....it is very serious. So long as her kidneys and liver hold up....she will make it through and be able to catch up on school.
