Very sorry to hear this. I pray God will give you words to speak to her about Jesus and that her heart will be softened to be able to accept those words. Also, comfort for her and her friends and family.

So sad. I hope your visit will bless her and that you can make her laugh in spite of the circumstances. Perhaps you could take her a pretty new bible in an easy to understand version and maybe a tract or simple booklet - like Journey Into Life - that will help her understand what it means to be born again. I did that with my sister at Christmas. Does she know that you are a Christian?

So sorry to hear this. Sometimes it is a person's time to go but sometimes the Lord does give healing.

That she wants to laugh is a good sign. Praying for her.

I was a hospice volunteer for quite some time and one thing that does happen is friends and family will abandon the person because they feel too bad themselves even thought they are not dying. She has 3 months of life in her I agree get over there and laugh have fun live life forget yourself and focus on them. Its not a time to abandon people due to feelings a strong person will overcome their fear and be there for the person. It can be a happy time or a sad time depending on the people around her.It is time to go to her she is calling for you.Comforting the sick and dying is one thing Jesus did ask us to do.
I will pray for your cousin and hope she is surrounded with love cherished to her last moment and never feels alone or unwanted..

Thanks this is also encouraging.

Yes I have worked with the dying and it can be hard. Assisting with Family and friends can feel uncomfortable and I have witnessed this...

When it's your own, I guess it feels worse, because we just dont know what to do instead of being present...but I never felt uncomfortable around dying people when they were not my family. I had training, and some of them wanted to be left alone... but this is different , I have no idea how I will respond, but knowing she wants us to make her laugh(me and my sister and our side of the family are renown for laughing and joking and not taking things too seriously) is also encouraging because then I can just be myself.

I am thinking of taking my guitar and singing some funny songs (don't know what yet) because my sister cannot take her piano, so I'm on the verge of sorting out some good tunes to play.

There was a man years ago, Norman Cousins...he healed himself by laughing.

If you need anything funny to show Gillian, don't forget the Happy Threads.

This was well written and very interesting. Thanks.

In the 1970s, Cousins, an influential writer and editor in chief of Saturday Review, was hospitalized with a mysterious, crippling disease. Doctors diagnosed some form of progressive paralysis or a degenerative bone disease that would eventually kill him. Facing a death sentence, Cousins threw out the specialists, checked himself out of the hospital, and worked with his own physician to wage a novel war on the disease. His plan was the medical equivalent of unleashing millions of beagles in Baghdad: he flooded the place with good cheer.

the above was taken from this link

Proverbs 17;22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

God can change his mind about stuff.

In Chapter 38 of Isaiah and 2 Kings 20 God extended Hezekiah's life. When Hezekiah pleaded to God and Isaiah prayed for him.

Is this something you would like? Your friend seems like a precious person to you.
