Is it okay to ask for prayer for my 80 year old sister? She has an ongoing respiratory condition that isn't responding to medication.
Also as well as her physical health please will you pray for her spiritual health. She came to visit on Thursday - we only get to see each other once a year when we exchange Christmas presents. During our conversation she mentioned he daughter's birthday and it felt so natural to tell her that my 'born again' birthday was the same day 18th Dec. Well she got quite irate saying that all gods were the same and all religions were the same and had absolutely no interest in knowing more. I have ordered a lovely NLT bible to be sent to her but she says she doesn't need one and she is going to send it back to me as she has my mum's old bible I don't think she reads it though - it's ancient and would probably fall apart if she tried to.
Also today I have sent her a copy of 'Journey Into Life' which I told her is what showed me how to be born again. She thinks it's all weird new-age stuff, so I explained in my note that re-birth is central to true Christianity and that Jesus himself said you must be born again.
As I said she is 80 and I am concerned for her soul whilst there is still time. All the times I have tried to talk to her she has never been interested and thinks enough that she believes in God and was confirmed.
