Is it okay to ask for prayer for my 80 year old sister? She has an ongoing respiratory condition that isn't responding to medication.

Also as well as her physical health please will you pray for her spiritual health. She came to visit on Thursday - we only get to see each other once a year when we exchange Christmas presents. During our conversation she mentioned he daughter's birthday and it felt so natural to tell her that my 'born again' birthday was the same day 18th Dec. Well she got quite irate saying that all gods were the same and all religions were the same and had absolutely no interest in knowing more. I have ordered a lovely NLT bible to be sent to her but she says she doesn't need one and she is going to send it back to me as she has my mum's old bible I don't think she reads it though - it's ancient and would probably fall apart if she tried to.

Also today I have sent her a copy of 'Journey Into Life' which I told her is what showed me how to be born again. She thinks it's all weird new-age stuff, so I explained in my note that re-birth is central to true Christianity and that Jesus himself said you must be born again.

As I said she is 80 and I am concerned for her soul whilst there is still time. All the times I have tried to talk to her she has never been interested and thinks enough that she believes in God and was confirmed.

At 80 years old you can be certain God has knocked on her door many times through those years. Refusal to open the door is respected by God and he doesn't force the issue against her will. I think we need to be sensitive to peoples decisions regarding this.
I think of Adam and Eve....they were told and warned and God left the choice with them. He didn't come in with more information to try to dissuade them .....even while sadness and disappointment was experienced by him and the watching/ present angels.

I'm asking that because some people might not know much else about the Bible. Sometimes we need to use different words that they can understand.

All you can do is pray for your sister. Most of the things you send her will probably not be read. Only if sees or experiences a miracle, or her close, very close friend, becomes born again, then she will think soberly about it.

I quite agree, and although I have spoken to her about my faith many times I have never pushed. But one day it will be too late for her so this time I went a little further. But I won't fall out with her if she sticks to her own beliefs.

I'll be praying, sister. I know God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (unsaved) ...and it's His heart that she come to know Jesus as her Savior and Lord.

Praying for your sister Anne @Pearl. I know how extremely important it is to be able to see your sister again in the Kingdom of heaven.
Father I pray for @Pearls sister Anne, I prayer for her salvation. That you will grant her the opportunity of hearing the gospel preached in such a way, that she may be granted a revelation of your truth in her heart, that she may be able to recieve you as lord of her life and her salvation. That she may be forgiven of her sins, be washed in the blood of Jesus, be usable for your kingdom and glory and that her name may be written in the lambs book of life. I ask this now Father, by faith, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus!

I'm praying for you to receive the things you are asking for and God to show your sister the truth lead by Christ Jesus.

That would be a miracle if your sister can start believing and realize the need for a savior like the thief on the cross.

I agree in prayer for The Holy Spirit to draw your sister unto Jesus. Think the thief on the cross, he was saved literally at the last minute.
:pray:pryrwpryrw
For years , and that by grace , i been warning many peoples sister . You would be suprised
at how many even within christendom now think and beleive very simliar to pearls sisters thoughts .
They gonna finish off the evanglical realm through interfaith finding common ground .
Some might wonder why i have long fought against this co exist finding common ground false love and fake unity stuff .
WELL cause its of anti christ and though it uses the golden rule , it does so to decieve .
It uses the golden rule to deceive .
For the golden rule says YOU shall love the LORD your GOD with all your heart , mind and soul
and then your neighbor as yourself .
THEY SEEM to imply that all religoins can do this . FAT LIE SISTER .
How can them false religoins even be LOVINGGOD when they DENY HIS CHRIST .
FOr had they LOVED GOD they would have LOVED CHRIST . He who loves ME keeps my commandments .
And thus their version of love your neighbor is false .
FOR THOUGH it do have an appearance of doing some good works to others
IT is full of hate .
HOW so . YE shall not hate your neighbor in your heart you shall in any way REBUKE him and not allow sin upon HIM .
UNBELIF is sin , and sins are still sin . YET NONE correctes and none tells the false religoins OF THE DIRE NEED TO BELEIVE
JESUS is the CHRIST . no mam , all their love does is allows folks to continue in sin and even the SIN OF UNBELIEF . aint LOVE SISTER .

I'm asking that because some people might not know much else about the Bible. Sometimes we need to use different words that they can understand.
Many within christendom , many like even orprah wimphrey can claim they DO BELEIVE
but then as Oprah many preach a fat lie .
There is such a thing as false brethren who can use the name of JESUS
and make the cliam they do believe and then turn around and preach an anti christ message ,
PROVING they do NOT TRULY KNOW HIM . now she wrote that her sister said all religoins etc
Oprah beleives this too , as do the pope and others .
THEY ALSO claim JESUS IS LORD and savoir. MANY use HIS NAME to actually DENY HIS CLIAM .
and that is not the sign of a lamb sister .
IF one truly BELIEVED JESUS IS THE SAVOIR and make the cliam OH I BELIEVE
why would they then turn around and say OH but tis not necessary for others to beleive. THEY DONT fool me sister
and do not let them fool you either . NO man speaking by the SPIRIT calleth JESUS accursed .
THESE DO . they believe its not necessary to HAVE to BELEIVE ON HIM , even if they LIP THEY DO . its all in darkness sister .
