Just wondered... if people sing during their personal prayer times.
Not during my personal prayer time (that I can remember) - but sometimes during the day I might bust out spontaneously into a hymn or a praise song. Usually I just roll with it, unless it's an awkward time.

Another thing I have always done, when listening to praise music, is dancing in the Spirit, even in church I would dance, it’s like the Spirit takes us over, that’s another way of praising God..The joy of dancing for the Lord is truly “ amazing “!!

In the Bible, Psalms 149:3says, “Let them praise his name with dancing…Praise him with tambourine and dance…”3In 2 Samuel 6:14–22, David dances before the Lord with all his might, providing us with a wonderful example of what it truly means to surrender to God in worship.
When the churches began the praise always did it move my feet to dance and sing the praises to the LORD .
Here is the time when you might ask me , but brother why did you , after a time , leave many of them churches .
And i will answer you on that day that you ask , cause the doctrine they preached STUNK .
So always remember to dance and to sing , to praise and to thank THE LORD IS GOOD
but to dance and to sing , to praise and to thank the lord we THINK IS LORD but is not , IS real bad .
Many dance as did king david , many sing as the angels in heaven
but the WHO they sing to and the WHY they sing is an abomination to GOD .
many sing to a god , a version of what They think is GOD and yet that version has overlooked their sins
and even now calls them good . Just a real friendly reminder to us all .
What GOD do we love . What CHRIST do we sing our praises too . cause if it is one that omits and negates
the word and words of GOD , BOY do i got bad news .

and i clap . whatever you do JUST praise the glorious LORD .
some rhyme and others chime . but so long as what is getting rapped is HONORING GOD , then all is well .
But if when we do as we do we seek the attention and eyes of men , WE SING TO OUR OWN GLORY and our own praise .
And that sure aint to the GLORY OF GOD now is it .
You be encouraged my friend . but the reminder remains
that whatever
we do , were to have done to the GLORY OF GOD and not to man .
So when we sing do we sing to the GOD who inspired the truth in scripture
or do we sing to another who has made the road very broad and sin and unbelief accepting . cause the latter god
is the god who shall join all in periditoin that sang to its song of inclusive love . YOU DO
realize i only say as i say for the sake and good of the people . For i am not the judge of man . GOD IS , CHRIST is
But if we honor another version of him , we honor satan , NOT GOD . and man are those who do such a thing
in deadly dire danger , LEST OF COURSE they repent .

I just wanted everyone to laugh. But I do rap when talking to Jesus thru the day cause it's easy for me to. Like Amigo, I do clap and raise my hands too.
i often rhyme at times when exposing the falsehoods or even when pointing folks to JESUS .
rap is just lines used that ryhme . thus i cannot see a problem with rapping . NOW i must admit
when praying to GOD i dont rhyme . i just pray .

The key is do one clap too or rap too the god of interfaith all inclusive believe as thou wilt broad road sin accepting god .
cause that AINT GOD even if one believes it to be GOD or CHRIST . it aint . its the diverse
ever inclusive , JUST NOT TO THE TRUTH , version of what they so desire to beleive IS GOD and IS CHRIST .
My best guess is you dont rejoice to that god of the rainbow of interfaith .

Yes, especially in trials. When I was going through a really dark time, I used to sing Psalms with the lyre. (I wasn't that good, you know. There aren't a whole lot of instructions for lyres these days. You have to play by ear.)

It was a time of severe poverty and God used people to leave food at my door.

Sometimes God would wake me up the next day and have me sing worship in the morning. It gave me a lot of comfort.
How wonderful.

I always imagined everybody incorporating a time of praise into their daily prayer times that's why I asked the question. It seems like it isn't just me who doesn't sing.

There have been an abundance of heartfelt testimonies given. Thank you all for sharing. I’d like to share a very comforting scripture that means the world to me because there have been so many times in my life when I just don’t know what to pray for.

Romans 8:26 (NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

The Holy Spirit will intercede and pray for us when we are so overcome with sadness or distress that we are just unable to pray. This is one of the most amazing mercies from our Comforter, the Holy Spirit. Thank You, Father.

What do you think about this one? I was going through some of the songs in my son Matthew's playlists. (My son who is now Home with Jesus.)

He liked to listen to this one when we were driving someplace ...to town, or a road trip.

"Drivetime"

The one called "Love Is All" is a song me and the kids (especially Clarissa and Matt) would listen to ...turn it up, roll down our windows and sing along.
Tell me what you think about this one. (Hope I'm not derailing. I could move this to another thread.)

In case, you didn't know, I played guitar and sang all my life. A buddy and me started rhyming lyrics and putting them to a beat back in the early 70's before rap music became known. Those are good music you shared.

Here is a strange way but something I started... Right now.

Last night I was thinking about Francis Chan talking about how we can easily pass our problems over to a professional and trust it's handled, but it's not as easy with God.

I thought what about a prayer jar and I put my problems in the prayer jar and label it problem. Pray over it, submit my ticket, and trust it's done.

Mr. Duck asked, "How will you keep track of the answered ones?"

I said, "Okay. We'll label one jar 'Problem' and one jar 'solved' so together it's 'problem solved.'" hlf

It is helping my anxiety a little bit.

Before preparing for a Prison ministry group I was in, we sat in a circle and there was a bowl in the middle of this circle of men. This was a way to cleanse ourselves before God. We each were given a white rock and a pencil. We wrote a sin or problem that binds our spirit on the rock. One by one we walked to the bowl and placed our rock in it. The rock symbolized Christ and we gave the sin or problem for Jesus cleanse us. The rocks were then placed on an altar and then emptied in a washtub to rinse it away. Amazing how this works.
