Same thing happens at the second coming at Armageddon where Christ kills only an army, no one else and he doesn't use fire.
Of course the Lord uses fire to destroy the wicked when he appears, read it again and again in your denial of biblical truth seen below

Luke 17:29-30KJV
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Only a couple cities were burned, not all cities and not all wicked people on the Earth. You are intentionally misrepresenting this.

Plus, Jesus is not going to burn anyone with fire when he returns. You know he uses a sword.

Direct Question To Douggg: 1.) How many of the wicked on earth survived through Noah's flood?

The question was asked how many of the wicked on earth survived through Noah's flood and your response was "All" as seen above

Your claim that all the wicked survived on earth through Noah's flood is "False" in your continued denial of biblical truth, Douggg you can't be taken seriously

Every living creature that had breath in their nostrils "Died" including wicked man upon the earth

Douggg your claim of "All" the wicked on the earth survived through Noah's flood puts you in a false teaching camp all to your own, in complete denial of biblical truth "SAD"!

Genesis 7:21-22KJV
21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died.

Regarding 2Thessalonians1:8, Jesus returning in great glory, He will be surrounded by an aura of flaming fire, when He takes His wrath out on the wicked men of the world. The verse does not say that Jesus destroys the earth with fire.

Look up the definition of the word "aura" on the internet. It means...
the distinctive atmosphere or quality that seems to surround and be generated by a person, thing, or place.

Regarding Luke17:29-30 the verses are not emphasizing destruction of the world by fire by Jesus at His return. The verses are making a comparison to judgment on the wicked that will come that day - just as the flood in days of Noah, the wicked were judged, as stated a few verses earlier in Luke 17:26-27.... two verses you ignore because they don't have fire in them.
Do you believe scripture below represents the same event in "The Day Of The Lord" that takes place at the second coming?

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3KJV
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

Zechariah 14:1-4KJV
1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The chart shows when the day of the Lord begins and its path to eternity.

The answer is "no", 1Thessalonians5:2-3 and Zechariah 14:1-4 are not the same event.

1Thessalonians5:2-3 references the beginning of the day of the Lord, which begins when the Antichrist commits the transgression of desolation act of 2Thessalonians2:4. (as shown on the chart)

Zechariah 14:1-4 takes place when Jesus returns, at a time when the day of the Lord begins. (Jesus's second coming shown on the chart, when Zechariah 14:1-4 takes place.)

Those are my written response to the two scriptures you cited.

Thanks for the response Douggg, you believe the day of the Lord is 1,000+ years long, I disagree we already covered this in my response showing 1 Thess 5:2-3 regarding the words, quickly, sudden, and travailing pain of a birthing woman that doesn't show your claim of 1,000+ years

Thanks for the response

The day of the Lord has no end once it begins. There are segments to it though.

It is the beginning of the day of the Lord that takes place suddenly (verse 3) and also like a thief in the night, unexpectedly (verse 2).

You believe that Jesus returns and destroys the earth and its heaven the day He returns. However, in the text of Revelation 19:19-21, the beast and the false prophet and the kings of the earth and their armies will have gathered to make war on Jesus and His army.

So how can Jesus's return be unexpectedly ?

Revelation 19:
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

And if you look at this chart of mine, you will see that the beast and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire that day. While Satan is cast into the bottomless pit for 1000 years (Revelation 20:2).

Douggg the day of the Lord will be the last day of this earth's existence, its seen throughout the Bible, 1 Thess 5:2-3, Zechariah 14:1-4, 2 Peter 3:10-12 all represent this last day of the Lord, same time, same event

Your teaching falsely has the day of the lord taking place wherever you want to plug it into your timeline in graphs and charts into eternity 100% "False"

Douggg you deny the day of the Lord is the end in a desperate attempt to maintain your false teaching of a millennial kingdom on this earth that doesn't exist in scripture, bend and twist to suit your means

Jesus returns in fire and final judgment dissolving this earth by fire in the day of the Lord, there won't be a millennial kingdom on this earth following, eternity has begun in the New Heaven, Earth, Jerusalem

No, I am not saying the day of the Lord takes place whenever I decide. There are biblical based reasons why I place it where I do on the timeline chart.

The day of the Lord is not a single 24 hour day that Amil claims.

The day of the Lord, once it begins, never ends. However, there are segments to it.

Want proof? Then go to Amos 5:18. Note: The Jews (Judaism) desire the day of the Lord because that will be the time of the messianic age.

However, in Amos, they are being warned...

Amos 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

....that verse is referring to the Great Tribulation, the beginning segment of the day of the Lord. After the great tribulation, Jesus returns, and the messianic age segment begins which will be the thousand years of Revelation 20.

Then, the next segment will be the little season that Satan will deceive the nations once more for the final rebellion of the nations.

Then, the next segment is the destruction of this earth and its heaven in Revelation 20:11, right before the Great White Throne Judgment.

Then, after the Great White Throne Judgment, the next segment is the new heaven, new earth, new Jerusalem of eternity.

What are you talking about? No Amils believe in an earthly millennial kingdom. It's not just him who doesn't believe in that. SDAs believe no one is on earth during the thousand years and have that belief to themselves. They are premil in that they believe the thousand years follows Christ's return, though.

Your version of the day of the Lord doesn't match up with what is described in passages like 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 and 2 Peter 3:10-12. Those passages have the day of the Lord arriving unexpectedly bringing sudden and complete destruction on the earth.

The day of the Lord is not a single 24 hour day that Amil claims.
Yes, it is. It brings sudden destruction by fire on the entire earth. That destruction is not going to last for multiple days, let alone for multiple years as you believe.

The day of the Lord, once it begins, never ends. However, there are segments to it.

Want proof? Then go to Amos 5:18. Note: The Jews (Judaism) desire the day of the Lord because that will be the time of the messianic age.

There is no scripture you can reference which says that all of those things are part of the day of the Lord. You're making that up.

I have never said that. Do you not have anything to offer but lies?
Here it is,word for word and perfect as it is without your twisted interpretation.

Revelation 20
20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Perfect just as it is written.
