Nothing like a quote from that false teacher... Voddie Baucham
laughing13.gif

He's a calvinist that believes God is the one deciding that only a few people will be accepted so when snotty Voddie says "repent and believe" he is lying and is not telling people what he actually believes... because he's a liar
If you want to end up on my ignore list, @Dan Clarkston, just say the word-I’ll be more than happy to oblige.

The phrase 'you must be born again' is one that Jesus himself used; it's not just some new age weird thing. It just means to have come alive spiritually. to have 'seen the light' as some describe the process of coming out of the darkness of sin into the saving grace that Jesus made possible for us by his death on the cross and resurrection. It's that spiritual awakening that sets us off on our desire for a closer relationship with Jesus and through Jesus with God the Father. That spiritual awakening is not something we do it is something the Holy spirit does within us as He enters into our hearts. I am a follower of Jesus, I was dead in my sin but am now alive in Christ. And if that truth makes me a snob then so be it because it was through God. And my hope is that God will shine His light into many more lives and bring spiritual awakening to all.

I already found Truth... and the Teacher too!

Jesus said the Holy Ghost would lead us in to ALL Truth (John 16:13),
and Jesus said God's Word IS Truth (John 17:17)

You should get hooked up with Truth and The Teacher.... and accept what Jesus said about hell. View attachment 56064

Those that actually have the Holy Ghost and allow Him to lead them in to all Truth... know that Jesus went to the Cross for ALL people meaning salvation has been purchased for everyone.

But, some refuse to accept the call to salvation and and go away into forever punishment

Jesus explains it this way...

Matthew 7:13,14
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Then, Jesus teaches us more about this thru the Apostle Paul

2 Corinthians 4:4
the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Folks that don't accept all of what God's Word says end up with funky cold medina doctrine!

But you didn't answer my question. One verse says that some people are sent to forever Hell while the other verse says that Jesus IS the savior of ALL people. Both verses can't be correct. Which is correct and which is mistranslated?

You have a different definition as to what makes one a Christian. What you claim is that one is only a Christian if they have been born again. One can believe and do everything that Jesus commands but, according to you, they're not a Christian UNLESS they are born again.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion; I just think that you are mistaken.

Is mismanaging your ignore list really my responsibility? clueless.gif

Oh I answered the question alright... you just disagree with the whole counsel of God.

I also sometimes doubt my own salvation.

Wow, so I hope you grow and mature in the Lord quickly to get passed that. amen-prayer.gif

What you claim is that one is only a Christian if they have been born again.

Er, no.... Jesus is the one that said one must be born again to enter in to His Kingdom....

John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, except anyone be born again, he is not able to see the kingdom of God

It always amazes me to see those that say they are Christians and don't know the foundations of the faith clueless-doh.gif

It's high time to accept what Jesus tells us in His Word! thumbsup2.gif

No need to apologize @NotTheRock-all good, I also sometimes doubt my own salvation.

God bless my brother.

It can be healthy to doubt our salvation, if forces us to self-examine.

The more we mature in Christ, the more we see how sinful we really are and that can cause doubts.

Grace and peace to you.

Our sinfulness will always be thrown at us whether it is from ourselves, others or the devil.....and frankly, they are no doubt correct.
However, we have a Saviour to which we cast an anchor. He is the one who saves and I for one am determined to not let the 'voices' loosen my anchor.

@NotTheRock Do you disagree with anything I have said in the above post?

I think many Christians are afraid to doubt. Think about all the people in history that were certain about something. Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Jim Jones, etc. Think of all the death and destruction that level of certainty caused.

In less extreme examples, we can observe the number of Christians throughout the years that truly believed they figured out the exact day when Christ would return. Only to be wrong and look like fools.

In a way, doubt keeps us grounded and in a more humbled state. I think it's healthy.

I think there is doubt and there is doubt, ie oils ain't oils so to speak.
To be assured that one is loved and that Jesus has your back is hope inspiring. To be not sure of this (doubt) makes life hard and joyless.
However, to doubt or to hold loosely the various conclusions different ones (even oneself) have regard to many of the teachings which are under the umbrella of 'Christian' is in my view a healthy disposition to have. It allows understanding to grow and flourish rather than get petrified with an immovable ego.

I think many Christians are afraid to doubt.... I think it's healthy.

Adam and Eve doubted God's Word and instead believed the word of the devil.

No, not healthy at all for those who desire to remain in right standing with the Lord.

Believers believe... they don't doubt.

Those who start listing to the devil reject what God says and start doubting

The fool’s story: Doubtful about things which are certain and certain about things which are doubtful.

A follower of Jesus should never be doubtful about what the Messiah does and says.

“You have to know what the Bible says and then believe it to the point that it becomes a conviction. You then have to have that conviction to the degree that your default position in life is to be obedient to that conviction.” - John MacArthur

The first sentence is sound. The second sentence is tricky.

blah, blah, blah.....John MacArthur

And sadly John MacArthur has been tricked by the devil in to twisting scripture and ignoring lots of other scripture which is how one ends up following the heretic John Calvin who was an un-repentant murderer who thought it was OK to MURDER people who don't agree with calvinist cult doctrine

Some people who aren’t Calvinist - take me, for example, a Jewish monotheist - are still able to find some truth in what Calvinists say and agree with it, because it is truth.

I‘m not hesitant to agree with truth when it is spoken, no matter who speaks it.
