That would be the same day the two witnesses ascend into heaven in the cloud that departs from Jerusalem and the great earthquakes hits Jerusalem.

The great tribulation ends when Jesus returns - and his millennium rule begins.

At the start of the millennium, in Revelation 20:4-6, Jesus resurrects the great tribulation martyrs to everlasting life to reign with Christ for a thousand years.

The rest of the dead are not resurrected until the millennium is over, to stand before the Great White Throne judgment.

Israel will not be under control of some foreign government at that time for most of the first half of the seven years.

Once the person reveals that he is the man of sin, there is going to be a lot disruption and confusion. For one thing, there is already going to be the EU military in Israel and the middle east, there right after the Gog/Magog event, acting as peace keepers in the region.

In Ezekiel 28:1-10, it says God brings strangers against the person for his outlandish act of sitting in the temple claiming to have achieved God-hood. Which those strangers will assassinate him.

(note: in Ezekiel 28, the prince of Tyrus is a code name for the Antichrist. Just as in Ezekiel 28:12-19, the king of Tyrus is a code name for Satan)
