IMO Jesus wasn’t praying he was personally forgiving the ‘temporal punishment’ of the sin of those crucifying him. He was not forgiving he ‘eternal consequence’. The same was true for Stephen when he was stoned to death. The same was true for those repenting and being baptized by John. ETERNAL FORGIVENESS was not available for anyone until after the price was paid for on the cross.

Yet there is a remnant...

And I think they are also the “overcomers” of the churches in the book of Revelation.

As for the verse you quote that says "DAMNED"???? Let's look at it IN CONTEXT.

MAR 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be DAMNED.

You believe, "he that believes" goes to heaven, and 'he who does NOT believe', goes to eternal hell! But what does THE BIBLE say without even having to "think deeply and praying fervently"?

Have you ever "cast out demons" or do you "speak in tongues"???? Wait, shouldn't the comparison OF an UNBELIEVER and a BELIEVER in that verse say IF YOU BELIEVED YOU WENT TO HEAVEN AND THE DAMNED UNBELIEVER WENT TO HELL???? Now go study the only other two verses with "damned" in them and see what the CONTEXT is. Rom 14:23 and 2Thes 2:12.

This reminds me of a born again Christian friend who was an English major at a secular college. One elective was "Literature of the Bible." We all know the Bible is a rich tapestry of literal history, lots of figurative language, poetry, edicts, and various rhetorical devices. He was disappointed that rather than uplift the Holy text, the class was presented as a critique.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me. John 5:39

God can reveal Himself to those who aren't looking for Him. Even to those trying to prove His non existence by critiquing the Bible as a mere literary novel.
But what we are talking about is the possibility of students hearing from their teachers significant cynicism and doubt that anything the scriptures have to say is worthwhile, let alone Truth. Many sincere believing active Christians have entered universities and been turned into atheists by activists posing as intellectuals. And that includes teachers and professors.
Which is why I suggested that the Bible most assuredly ought to be available for study. But let students alone while doing so. Let the Bible itself convict. Let God be God, and allow the holy Spirit to work without ignorant arrogant deceived teachers inoculate the kids against understanding by opposing and ridiculing those who believe.

The final part of the verse is why they came to the light, and it goes back to the elect whom He chose and Romans 8 and Ephesians 1

God made an eternal covenant with Israel. Jer. 31 33-38 shows God has not forgotten His people. Also rom. 9-11.

As a nation they have been temporarily set aside to gather gentiles in the name of Jesus, but the key word there is temporary.

I do not worry how much of a % a person needs to be to be Israeli- that is Gods doing and He will know.

Once again you need to read more carefully.

Jeremiah is dealing specifically of the city of Jerusalem while Zechariah is showing much more of the land.

Also it is not the entrance of the eternal order but the end of the 7 year tribulation when the Lord physically returns to earth to establish the millennial kingdom.

I actually don't find much evidence for a millennial kingdom which is OF this earth (creation).
Peter says on the Day of the Lord, when He returns, the current creation will be consumed by fire, and we get new heavens and earth.
Paul says when Christ returns there will be this consuming fire and all the wicked will be destroyed, all those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel.
There is no one left alive who is not of the Father. they are all of them gone, and the people of God inherit the earth. The wicked will be ashes under our feet, that mean they are left neither root nor branch they are all of them destroyed by the fire of God.

Just as in the time of Noah, the flood came and swept them all away and they all of them died.
Just as in the days of Lot, the fire fell and consumed them all, sparing only Lot and his daughters.

The Coming of the Son of Man​

So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”

The birds are birds of prey, they eat the dead, recall the great supper of God in Revelation speaks to that.
No coming back for the wicked dead.
It is a total destruction. But we inherit the earth, we get new earth and new heaven. Like a restoration of a new creation , a new Eden.

The Day of the Lord​

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be [d]burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

And between the dissolving of the old creation and the coming of the new creation, there is the great white throne judgement of God.
Where books are opened where everything they did was recorded, and the dead are judged by the things they did written in the books.

Everything everyone did is written into His book, your whole life is recorded.

Also it is not the entrance of the eternal order but the end of the 7 year tribulation when the Lord physically returns to earth to establish the millennial kingdom.
