Actually, I never spent a day in public school. My comments are a refection of two Ivy League degrees, one in political philosophy, one in law.

Well known historical universities “USED” to carry clout for individuals having attended and received such Degreed certifications…
BUT no longer the case…for people waking up from a generational comatose business as usual case.

From educational institutions highly praised historical PHILOSOPHERS, to Universities teaching Students “how to Adopt” and “use” “philosophical psychobabble methods” FOR teaching students “has BEEN” a long standing generational and “injurious intended divisional hoax and scar” on the American people.

Speaking of “LAW”…. Tariffs ARE expressly within the boundaries of THE Supreme Law of the Land….which IS THE Constitution…Not a Court.

If you really think isolation will work.Usually thats how you control a nation Isolate first look at history..Already talk here of not purchasing any American products there should be a surplus of products from other countries with the heavy tariffs put on them and unable to sell in the USA could bring prices down out side of the USA by not buying American.Got to also slap a tariff on all American made product so they don't sell in our countries price them way up there where no one wants to buy them.Everyone can play this game if its the path chosen.Careful there maybe a huge backlash.The consumer pays the tariff not the country it came from.

I'm not in possession of all the answers, but I can offer a couple of general suggestions:

There are two general (but not mutually exclusive) categories of immigrants swarming to the Southwest border: those seeking asylum and those seeking economic opportunity. Asylum seekers should be required to stay in Mexico until their cases are heard -- and immediately forfeit all asylum claims if they do not. Job seekers are the more difficult class to deal with. Improving economic opportunities in Latin America would be a good first step. (Tariffs on Mexican goods would undermine this.) Beyond that, employment of illegals, already a crime, is not well enforced in this country. I'd beef that enforcement up, until the message infiltrates all the way to Tiera del Fuego that getting hired in the U.S. as an illegal is a long shot.

More manufacturing jobs? No. Demand is elastic, and the higher the price the less will be purchased. Tariffs raise prices not only on the imports but on the American goods that use foreign components -- and more importantly, American sellers will just raise prices once competition has been reduced. Study the history of tariffs, and you will see this effect over and over. (Are you suggesting we also implement price controls???)

actually most countries have tarrifs on products purchased from the US. Biden cancelled all the ones we had in place.

I can't stress strongly enough how galactically stupid such tariffs would be to our economy. Raising prices for American consumers under the guise of protecting American manufacturing from competition is a ticket to disaster. The booming stock market, currently at record highs without those tariffs, will tank.

That is not exaaactly how that all works.

Without tariffs American manufacturers are undercut by cheaper foreign manufacturer's products, strengthening foreign economies while weakening the American economy. Conversely, tariffs help level the field.

Another advantage that is often overlooked is the benefit to US retailers (my field). Cheaper imports may drive up profits to foreign made products, but drive down the core of name brand American made products, also causing American manufactures to add import lines to their US made lines, effectively an act of omitted competitive failure. Again, conversely, with tariffs American retailers profit equally or greater.

But the measure of putting tariffs on foreign manufactured goods, is not just about economics. It is also about fair trade in a global market, and a bargaining chip on many other issues, including military. The chess board has many pieces.

I only asked this one thing, and then I was also asked. How I should answer now? Should I also respond to them with questions? Anyway, there are also Christians who agree to killing babies due to the agony of the aftermath of being raped.

I may have asked such questions because that's what is happening in the world. People pray for both sides, but that does not mean anything about me praying for her to win.
