I believe God used to talk to the OT prophets through dreams, but in the last days, he spoke to us by his son. (Heb 1:1, 2) All we need is contained in the Word of God. God no longer communicates to us via dreams.

While agree I believe that the cessation of miracles is a reference to the gifts handed through the laying on of hands by the apostles. Since the apostles have ceased so has laying on of hands but we see that miracles existed outside of the laying on of hands. I also believe the events of revelation has already happened. Though it’s iffy if revelation was ever supposed to be in the Bible since it was not included until around 300ad and was known as a pseudo autobiographical book. Those gifts were also used to jumpstart the church. We don’t need a jumpstart anymore but that does not mean prayer is not answered or that miracles cannot still occur through prayer. Besides, the dreams in the end times were about guiding the body of believers and not related to dreams like what Joseph interpreted or how the holy spirt may interact with us.

I must've missed part one of this thread but I got the gist of it here and so will add my two cents.

I have had a lot of spiritual dreams. I went looking for help in interpreting them and there was a girl who ran some website that did that. So iad them interpret many of the dreams and she liked me for that. I guess I was good for business, lol. She liked me so much she asked me to be a moderator on her forum and I did for awhile but we bumped heads at some point and she banned me, lol.
Oh these sensitive women nowadays.
But dream interpretaion is fairly well tabulated and there are tons of books on it and so forth. Every little detail means something. John Paul Jackson has several million videos about dream interpretaion also (Youtube).

But I want to say that Karl Peters is exactly right in what he says! Ask the Lord! I have asked the Lord all of those questions he listed at some point! and beyond that, when you get your interpretation of the dream...Ask God To Confirm It For You, and he will has been my experience! God confirms the interpretaion you received in different ways to me. I can pray for confirmation of an interp at night, and the very next morning, the top center had video would be somehow related and sounds interesting so I watch it and thru it I got my confirmation. or it could be a deep peace enters my spirit and makes me sit up and say huh? Oh, the Lord's giving me the confirmation that my dream and interp were true. WHo knows how God would confirm dreams to you? It might be in a different way. But it stands clear...Ask the Lord and keep asking Him until you get it! You dont have to watch for it to come and try to read things into every situation, that's not needed. It will, so to speak, punch you in the face when you get it! You will go, Oh. Thank you Lord

The last spiritual dream I had I have not managed to get interpreted yet, dangit! It was a good dream! In the dream I was taken up to visit the Father. Not to the throne room, but it was a house (the Fathers house?) and many people were there. Everything was in color and I was standing beside my escort and I am not sure who it was? Jesus? An Angel? I dunno.. But I was standing quietly and waiting my turn to see the Father. I could see him in the other room and it seemed sort of like those Presidential news interviews where when one guy gets his answer and stops, there's a surge of people forward and many questions to Him and hands raised. And the Father was talking to them one at a time, and I some point I figited at the long wait, I didnt say anything but I got a wee bit irratated at the wait and the Father must've sensed it because He turned to me with the sweetest smile I ever seen on anyone, and winks me while he makes a hand gesture to signal, Soon! I'm almost done over here. And I felt peace just drown my spirit and made me feel real good. Probably the smile and the wink, wow. And then I woke up. I didnt get to visit with Him at all that dream. End of dream/ I still dunno what it means.

I remeber the Fathers face though, I got a good look at Him! He didnt have all white hair like He is depicted. It was salt & pepper and long enough to cover His ears.

This is one of the few dreams I have had that I didnt get an answer to from the Lord. Or a interpetation from anyone else either.

Dreams are weird. I've always heard that we dream in black & white. But I cant ever remember having any dreams in B&W. I dunno what's up there. Do you guys dream in color or B&W?

I have had soo many flying dreams. And they were progressive. At first I would have run and jump into the wind and catch the air and ride the air currents or ridges like gliders do. It was hard to keep altitude at first but I got better. And in later dreams I started being able to just take of like Superman and jump out a window or whatever, and I would just go flying around all alone having fun. After that I started being able to take off from a standstill straight up like Neo in the Matrix! I could fly all the way up to the edge of space, a lot higher than I used to. At some pint during this series of flying dreams, I was alone any more. Jesus was teaching me how to fly. He would hold me by both ankles and we would fly and talk while we flew. He taught me how to land on someone's roof without waking them up or disturbing them! In the last two? flying dreams I had I was in Garden of the God's near Colorado Springs and I had a group of students with me...that I was teaching them how to fly. Maybe 15 or 20 people? And we took off from Garden of the God park and I old them to try to keep up with me! And I flew fast and made zig zags and flew up by the edge of space and stopped and was chucling because I lost them!
And one lone student found me and flew that high!

My understanding of dream interpretation is that all flying dreams speak of the Holy Spirit and taking you new heights.

It’s different for everyone. Only 12% or so only ever only dream in black and white. Most dream in black and white often and in color often. Some mostly always in color.

From my reading on this topic, dreaming has a lot to do with "memory consolidation", where the brain sorts out the memories from the day, crosslinking them, interpreting them, and this activity shows as our dreams.

But then routinely dreams "movies" over the years, extended story lines that are coherent though days of weeks of activity. I think there's much more to dreams than just memory consolidation.

Israel Defence Forces have learned that if you keep a traumatized soldier awake for 24 hours then PTSD generally doesn't develop.

Much love!
A little friendly humor coming your way for good fun: Interesting @marks, very interesting... I know a good 72 hour sleep deprevation test usually yeilds hallucinations mixed with paranoia in most test subjects, take a look at the neighbors cat. I think he's spying on me in camo mode today... ;)

This does not apply?

Acts 2:17 KJV
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Much love!
Joel's prophecy that Peter partially quotes in Act 2.17 is related to the last days of the Jewish Age, that is, at time of the Second Coming of Christ. The last days in the OT is a reference to the Messianic Age when Christ sets up his Millennial reign. This is the kingdom that Jesus offered to the Jews during his earthly ministry. That's why there were no heavenly disturbances on Pentecost. In fact, the only miracle on Pentecost was the speaking of gentile dialects, which Joel doesn't even mention.

1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

Has spoken is in the Aorist tense meaning it is in the Past tense. The way God communicated with the OT prophets was with visions and dreams, but in these last days his son has spoken once and for all.

So, another issue is if the Rapture of the Church is to be preceded by visions and dreams, then the Rapture is no longer imminent. And as I mentioned above in the link, miracles were only performed by the first generation of Christians, and the Second Generation of Christians did not perform any miracles. If read my short post on Heb 2.3, 4 this would be repeat for you.

I apologize for this brief response but time is short today

Do you see Acts 2 as still being in the Jewish age, before the current dispensation?

Acts is a transition time of two dispensations. The Jewish age finally came to an end when the Jews were killed and their Temple destroyed. The Church was born in Acts 2 and I call this also the Apostolic Age. I wouldn't quibble over someone calling Acts 2 a part of the Church Dispensation, but I think that only confuses the issue.

I think counting and naming dispensations in general creates confusion. I see dispensations as overlapping in some cases.

I've seen Acts 28 marking the end of the Jewish dispensation, but like you, I wouldn't quibble over it.

Much love!

I think it's safe to say that the dream about me and my wife naked in the backyard with a garden hose was not from God. But the same night, my wife had a dream that made a big difference in her life. She thinks it was from God.

I don't know how this dream stuff is supposed to work.
IT might have been . it could have been a warning from GOD about a false gospel being preached
We never know . for any other gospel clothes not a man but leaves them naked .
One never knows do they lambando . SO with that dream in mind i do have to ask you something .
Have you and or your wife been getting into this interfaith other gospel whose waters are being spewed unto many now .
You might be suprised . That dream MIGHT have been a warning to you . maybe not , but maybe so .

Does God speak to you in dreams? How do you know it's Him?

Do others share dreams that they believe are from God? How can you know whether it's true or not?

Much love!
What if you repeatedly dream about something from the Bible over the years, but you keep ignoring it because you don't recognize its significance and not a believer either. I ask this because that’s what happened to me. Would you not think that the dream could be from God?

That's an interesting question. My first reaction is to say that if God were communicating with you, I'd expect you would know that. So I wonder whether it's just a dream after all.

I've had dreams repeat, though only a handful of times per dream.

Much love!

I don't know how this dream stuff is supposed to work.

Your story reminds me of a sex type dream I had. In the dream I was with two girls and one was bit younger and blond and the 2nd had a few years on her and had jet black hair. And nothing was said in the dream but somehow I knew that I had to choose one of them.

I chose the blond in the dream I took her by the arm and then I woke up. No sex ever happened in the dream. But it was a weird short dream and I just felt that it was bad somehow.

So I wanted an interpretation for that one right away because I was clueless. I was trying to walk with God at the time but I was a very young christian. And I dont think that was a good dream to be having. So I posted the dream to that dream interpretation forum that I was a member of (and moderating!) and it was actually interpreted as a very good dream! What it came down to I had to make a choice and so it became about the girls hair color. One was blond, one was black. And I chose blond which I am told means Purity and I rejected the girl with dark hair which means impurity. I chose wisely! Yay!

Here's the funny part, lol. Another member came on and said whoa, he dreamed he had sex with Xena the Warrior Princess and he was told that was a very bad dream because Xena has jet black hair! That guy got so mad at the board! Called them a bunch of names and stuff. He didnt like it that my dream was said to be good and is sex dream didnt! I dunno, maybe Xena is one of his heros or something? I used to like WOnder WOman a lot, Lynda Carter! But I wouldnt get mad about it, geez!

I have to disagree with you Brother because I have seen miracles, more than one. I've not seen the dead raised or the red sea parted but miracles nonetheless.

It is written right there in scripture, God does not change. He is no respecter of men. So he would not do something for OT people that he wouldnt do for NT people. Make sense?
In fact if you read His Word more than average, you will begin to understand that...the old testament is the new testament concealed and that the new testament is the old testament revealed...Is He not the God that tells the end from the beginning?

I've seen miracles and I've more than a few spiritual dreams. So I am able to say this with a certainty.

Maybe that means that the dream is important and you should seek interpretation?!

I agree though Brother, sometimes when I wake up after having a dream...I just can feel that it is significant and means something important and I get the urge to write it down so I dont forget it.
I keep pen & paper by my bedside now, lol!

God still does miracles, he just does them directly, he no longer uses the gift of miracles. Did you read Heb 1:1, 2 and 2:3, 4
I am not denying you have had dreams, but it is not God trying to tell you something because i could have a dream with the opposite meaning and there would be no way to determine which is from God. If the way to determine if it was from God is by consulting the Scriptures, then the dream was not needed.

Right! And with the new testament was the new covenant and came with extra addendums to the original covenant. Nothing ceased, but ...these things were added unto us!

They dont teach laying on of hands any more or hardly anything so people have become blind to the advantage that they could have if they taught it. So people stopped laying on hands (for the most part) and people would pray for healing and so forth and got fewer and fewer results. That made people start not praying like they used to or should.
I prayed for God to heal me and He didnt, so prayer dont work...(Whoa) and they pray less than they should. You have not because you ask not. And what did Jesus teach about it, what did Jesus tell them to do?

Matthew 10:7-9
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,.../KJV

Aha! Jesus told them to go with the authority of His Name and do all these things themselves. Jesus didnt pray for people to be healed, He just healed them! And all those things which Jesus did you shall do and more!

Whoa. What's more than casting out evil spirits or raising the dead? So what we have here I believe is many Christians are having an identity crises. We all see in scripture that...some are healed with a word, some are healed by the laying on of hands, others by the touch of a handkerchief that Paul(?) touched? (Maybe it was Peter?), and still others dont go out but by prayer and fasting!

So some evil spirits are stronger than others. There is a serious loss of discipline within the church about teaching on the authority that we have been given in Christs Name. Remember this, Jesus already won the victory. All we have to do is to enforce the victory in His name until He arrives!

So take authority over those evil spirits and talk directly to them. Spirit of Infirmity come out in Jesus name, you must obey the Name which is above all Names!

Geez think about it. Jesus even commanded the weather! Remember when he calmed the storm after they woke Him up? Save us!! Oh do it yourself! Lol.

It's awesome to Identify with the Lord Jesus. It will open up new doorways for you! So go! Cast out devils, heal that man! Just do it!
