Hi there,
So this is something that may not have occurred to you, but there are patterns, in Heaven. One of those patterns is the cycle of the Day. The cycle of the Day is not dictated, rather everyone gets up at a similar time and goes to sleep at a similar time. Fundamentally, they do it 'together'. There is praise for this, because there is both something to enjoy and something to look forward to. It's not about rushing, its about knowing that we share something in Heaven, we don't merely inhabit it. It's not a big step to go from days to fortnights to seasons, but I will stick to commenting on the Day, for simplicity's sake.
Now you might say "Revelation says there will be no more night!" which is true, but it doesn't say there will be 'no more rest' and what I am saying here, is that in Heaven, we rest together. It will be possible to rest without the lights going out, so to speak. The Devil is against a couple of things, one, he doesn't want us to rest; two, he doesn't want us to do it together. Now you might say "the Devil will be cast into the lake of fire" which is true, but there is plenty of time in Heaven where he still has power to disturb and upset. The thing is, if we rise and rest together, the Devil will only ever be cast out. The fact that we do it with God, together, means that the Devil can only flee. It's a way of surrendering to God.
Of course, there is sin. Now you might say "If I am in Heaven I will never sin again" which is possible, but the point is more that your sleeping habits will reflect your past life, even if you have slept too much or never rested consistently. Jesus still had the scars of the cross in His body, our sleeping habits - unless we change them by faith - are going to reflect what we did in this life also. It's not a big problem, but it bears thinking about, in terms of what we expect Heaven to be like. I am just using reason to create an awareness of the fact that Heaven is dynamic and interesting, not static and boring. I hope this has been of some encouragement.
God bless.
