"Discerning the Lord's body" in a communion wafer isn't easy!1 Corinthians 11:29
For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

Well, I can see this is a waste of time....1 Corinthians 11:29

Hey RedFan."Discerning the Lord's body" in a communion wafer isn't easy!
Its impossible actually"Discerning the Lord's body" in a communion wafer isn't easy!
Steward: Your 'answer' leaves me more questions. How does one eat from the tree of life?
and how do we do this?John 6:53-57
King James Version
53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Hey EG,Its impossible actually
Jesus said whoever eats will never die.. yet they eat a wafer at times weekly. and are not assured they will never die.
They eat it like the fathers ate manna, and they too will die.
Hey EG,and how do we do this?
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Peter agreed.
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
To eat is to feed on his words. the words of eternal life. which we must believe.
whoever believes is no longer condemned, whoever does not believe is condemned already
Hey APAK,As you already know, Jesus’ flesh and blood are not meant to be understood literally, but rather as a metaphor for spiritual nourishment and union with Him. Those who partake in Him through faith and obedience will experience eternal life and be raised up at the last day. This passage underscores the importance of believing in Jesus as the Son of God and the source of salvation. We are living this everyday.
Got it. By Eating his body and drinking his blood we eat from the tree of life. I for one am glad that he SHOWED us how to eat his body and drink his blood at the Last Supper: bread and wine.John 6:53-57

No where at no time does Scripture EVER say that if we "feed on his words" we will have eternal life. It just isn't there.
Thank you for making my point.Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LordGod of hosts.
What you quoted doesn't say that if we "feed on his words" we will have eternal life. What you quoted isn't even close to your theory.
The word out of His mouth is that if we eat His body and drink His blood we will have eternal life. Thats it. Stop press. Don't add more words.
The word out of His mouth at the last supper is that the bread IS His body, and the wine IS His blood and that if we eat His body and drink His blood, we will have eternal life. That IS what Scripture says. That IS what Jesus said. Why have you have twisted His words?
Can you really not see how YOU or the men who are teaching you are fulfilling 2 Peter 3:16?
It does (I think) have a lot to do with the topic. A member commented to you ‘Eating a wafer and drinking grape juice does not give someone eternal life.’Thanks for joining the conversation VIJ. However, I don't have a clue how what you wrote has anything to do with the topic at hand. Would you care to try again and be clearer this time?
Mary
Hi Marymog:Hey RedFan.
It is very easy IF you believe what He said: You must eat my body to have life in you. This (communion wafer as you call it) IS my body!
It appears YOU don't believe Him, so it isn't easy YOU.
It's not grape juice, its wine as made clear by Scripture. Stop adding to Scripture what is not there. There is no animal Sacrifice and I don't understand your theory on that.It does (I think) have a lot to do with the topic. A member commented to you ‘Eating a wafer and drinking grape juice does not give someone eternal life.’
To which you returned ‘You believe it is a wafer and grape juice. We believe what He said: This IS my body and blood.
Why don't you believe Him? Why don't you believe Paul?’
Same with why God has no pleasure in animal sacrifices, or burnt offerings. Does God take pleasure in that one sees a wafer and grape juice. And another believes it is His body and and His blood? To me it has to do with the topic in …first …the Nature of God where He has no pleasure in animal sacrifices and burnt offerings. To me it tells of His Nature and answers the question concerning if it’s a wafer and grape juice or His body and His blood?
Scripture does not say that it is " par-taking in dying to self" or that "drinking the blood of Christ" is par-taking in the risen life of Jesus Christ. That is not in Scripture and is something you added.Hello Stewardofthemystery,
I have always seen "eating the flesh of Christ" is par-taking in dying to self.
I have always seen "drinking the blood of Christ" is par-taking in the risen life of Jesus Christ.
You and @Eternally Grateful are truly 2 peas in a pod. You "like" what the other says but can't and haven't' answered Paul's question: The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?1 Corinthians 10
King James Version
10 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
