"There is some doubt about the connection of the words "from the foundation of the world." Some connect them with the word "written": this would express that the names were written "from the foundation of the world" in the book. Others connect them with the word "slain": this expresses that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world. For the former view, the similar passage in Re 17:8 is cited; but, on the other hand, the phrase "from the foundation of the world" is connected in other parts of the Bible with certain aspects of the work of Christ (1Pe 1:19-20, and Joh 17:24), and it seems more natural to take the words in their simple order. Whatever view we take, the verse proclaims that the security of God's saints is based on the eternal love of God. "An eternal deliverer is the only refuge from this great world-tyranny; "the strength of the tempted is in Him who is the same in love and righteousness through all the ages."

IMO both the Lamb being slain according to the promise of God, and names written should be understood to have been from the foundation of the world. The KJV is a trustworthy, reliable translation speaking of the works of God ordained in heaven via Covenant promise through the triune God-head before the foundation of the world. Since all the promises of God are "yes" and "amen", the promises ordained in heaven before creation are as though finished before Christ literally came to earth a man.

Hebrews 4:3 (KJV) For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

I think Hebrews 4:3 is in reference back to the creation event itself and God's resting on the seventh day from all His work of creation and really do not relate to the problem at hand.

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Heb 4:4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts.
Gen 2:2 By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
Gen 2:3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Which is to say, in order to be "renewed again" (Hebrews 6) we must also partake of Christ and His baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of God.

No one can partake of the Holy Ghost without first being obedient to God (Acts 5:32 KJV) - because sinners can't keep God's commandments even if they wanted to (Romans 8:7 KJV).

I reiterate:

You are out of context. The above quote of Peter was regarding giving witness to what we see and know of the gospel of Christ Jesus. In other words, to "obey Him" is to preach the gospel.

But you have made it into a false gospel as a condition of receiving the Holy Spirit. Which is not a matter of obedience at all, but of belief and His choosing.

The wicked are "not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be" (Romans 8:7 KJV)

Ironically, you have picked a passage that shows you--those who prefer to be obedient in the flesh, as wrong. On the contrary, "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." Still, "whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

I didn't die from being ejected, he died because he no longer had access to the fruit which would keep him from dying. He died because death is intrinsic to all physical life. That is the way God created it.

The main object of Christ Jesus being ordained before the foundation of the world was to be born through flesh woman's womb and die on His cross for the remission of the sins of those who believe on Him. It was to destroy the 'concept' of 'death' which... Satan originally caused... by his original rebellion and sin against God... back in the 1st world earth age.

Only through continued Bible study will the Bible student begin to understand this point, that the sin by Adam and Eve was only the first sin 'in the flesh', but was not the very first... sin. The very first sin was by the devil in the beginning. This is also why God's Word shows the following about Satan...

It's because the concept of death was assigned to Satan once he rebelled in that old world when he coveted God's Throne for himself, wanting to be GOD. God ended that old world, and brought this 2nd world earth age we have been in since Genesis 1:3.

Continued discipline in all of God's Word reveals this, even though much of it is not taught in most Churches. In Ezekiel 28, God gives a parable about Satan in that old world, using the title "king of Tyrus". God originally created Satan perfect in his ways per that Ezekiel 28 chapter. Then Satan rebelled, coveting God's Throne which was his job to guard (as a covering cherub). By the time Satan appears in God's Garden as "that old serpent" to tempt Eve, he was already in his role as adversary against God.

All this is why the concept of 'death' is ordained to perish in the future "lake of fire" along with the abode of hell and Satan (per end of Revelation 20). In God's future 'new heavens and a new earth', there will be no sin, nor death, ever again. And that is how the 1st world earth age likely was back when Satan followed God, and was perfect in his ways, serving God at His Altar. Satan was first to sin, and by that brought the concept of death.

And in Romans 8:18-25, Apostle Paul showed that God placed this 2nd world earth age into bondage of corruption as it seeks a release from that bondage it is in today in the future, along with the manifestation of the sons of God (i.e., the world to come). Not many Churches cover Paul's point on that either.

This wasn't simply God creating a single man, to be followed by an innumerable series of individuals. When God created Adam, He created all humanity. From Adam, Eve was taken, but not as a new creative act as when God created Adam.

It is true that God's Word in Genesis 1:26-27 covers (in the Hebrew) God's creation of both the single man aadam He placed in His Garden to till the soil, AND... all the races of mankind, all on the 6th day.

In the Hebrew of Genesis 1:26-27, one example of the word addam has no Hebrew article or particle with it. When that happens, it means 'mankind' in a general sense, i.e. the races of mankind. An example in English would be like... "man builds cars", as that's not about any one specific man, but mankind in general.

But another version of aadam in that Scripture does... have the Hebrew article and particle with it, as eth'ha'aadam, and means 'this man Adam', pointing to a specific man named Adam.

Paul changes the subject there in the 18th verse of Romans 8. Now he is comparing the sufferings of this present world we are in today, with the future world to come. Paul is showing that the things of the world to come, the glory of it, can't be compared with today's present time.

Then, Apostle brings in the subject of THE WHOLE CREATION with that point, and NOT simply only about man.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The Greek word for that above "creature" is the word ktisis, which means the creation. In verse 22 below, the Greek word ktisis is actually properly translated to "creation".

Thus Apostle Paul is definitely pointing to God's WHOLE CREATION with this, and not only us.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of Him Who hath subjected the same in hope,

Can you read and grasp what Paul just said there above about the creation? Paul just said that the creation (Greek ktisis) was MADE SUBJECT TO VANITY, and that NOT WILLINGLY! And Paul's next phrase shows GOD Himself is Who placed His creation into that "vanity"! (The Greek for "vanity" is mataiotes, meaning useless, empty, profitless (from root NT:3157).

The idea of 'empty' points to the state of the earth described in Genesis 1:2 with Hebrew tohu "without form", which actually means the earth had become a 'waste'. It does NOT mean the earth was literally formless, because Hebrew tohu va bohu ("without form, and void") actually means 'a waste and an undistinguishable ruin." In Isaiah 45:18, God said He did NOT create the earth tohu ("in vain"). This is why Jeremiah 4:23-28 is using that "without form, and void" idea again but with descriptions of a destruction on the old earth which God Himself once did.


21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

How could anyone just skip over what Paul is talking about there?

God placed the WHOLE CREATION into a state of "BONDAGE OF CORRUPTION". So when... did GOD do that??

And common sense reveals that for something to go into BONDAGE OF CORRUPTION, it had... to have been in a BETTER STATE beforehand!!

Why... would God do that to His creation, put it in bondage to corruption, and into vanity, the very "in vain" idea of Isaiah 45:18 that He said He did NOT create the earth in?


23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.

Now we in Christ are called... the "sons of God" per 1 John 3:2, but the actual "manifestation" of the sons of God happens when Jesus Christ returns in the future. That is that idea of "the redemption of our body" which Paul speaks of. (And there's a deeper message about that body type even, for those with eyes to see, and ears to hear.)

What Paul showed in the above, is that God's ORIGINAL CREATION in the 'beginning' was NOT like how it is in 'bondage to corruption' like it is today. It definitely means there was a PREVIOUS WORLD EARTH AGE prior to the time of Adam and Eve. It is pointing to Lucifer's rebellion of old, when he coveted God's Throne with wanting to be... GOD, and God destroyed... that old world, and brought this IMPERFECT 2nd world earth age that started at Genesis 1:3.

Look at the Bible descriptions about the future world to come, and you will begin to fathom likely how God's ORIGINAL CREATION IN THE BEGINNING was like. At Genesis 1:1 in the 'beginning' was God's original PERFECT CREATION. Then Lucifer rebelled, and God ended that 1st world and brought this 2nd one. And the 3rd world will be the "new heavens and a new earth" once Satan, hell, and death are all destroyed in the future "lake of fire" of Rev.20.
