To answer the question, "Do I need to tithe", we need to look at what the Bible says about tithing.
Lets look at the first mention of the tithe.
[Gen 14:18-20 KJV] 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed [be] Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
Abraham was not under the Mosaic law, seeing it was not yet given. We could say that if we are not under the law, we are still obligated to tithe just like Abraham.
Melchizedek was a priest to whom Abraham gave a tenth of all. This was a one time tithe. I see no commandment given to Abraham to offer his tithe.
God commanded Israel to tithe under the law.
[Deu 14:22 KJV] 22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
God commanded Israel to pay tithes to the priesthood of Levi.
[Num 18:21 KJV] 21 And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, [even] the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.
[Heb 7:5 KJV] 5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:
Abraham foreshadowed the law, which appointed the priesthood of Levi to receive tithes. Melchizedek being a priest, not of Levi however, would likewise receive tithes (Hebrews 7:1) seeing he pictured a better priest who lives forever. The Lord Jesus, the priest of Judah, was made a priest after the order of Melchizedek, made after the power of an endless life (Hebrews 7:11-17).
Levi was in Abraham's loins, being not yet born, but through Abraham, paid tithes to Melchizedek.
[Heb 7:9-10 KJV] 9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
We cannot use Abraham to justify paying tithes; we have no priesthood to pay our tithes.
The promise found in Malachi was to Israel, not us. We have all spiritual blessings in Christ according to Ephesians 1:3.
[Mal 3:10 KJV] 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].
Tithing was commanded under the law, but we are not under the law (Romans 6:14).
Tithing would be obedience to the law and would place ourselves under the curse of not doing all the law.
[Gal 3:10 KJV] 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
We are not commanded to give, but can to so freely.
[2Co 9:7 KJV] 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
