Bible scholars are leaving Christianity in droves. Why?
Not because they don't understand the Bible, obviously. (they're Bible scholars)

- Do you have to be Christian to believe in God?
- Do you have to agree with the institutional church's positions to believe in God?

Only a spiritually confident person would DARE to watch the videos in post #1 and give a review/comment.
Who will take the challenge?

Because they're stupid. Don't be mislead by the lable "bible scholars"; it means nothing. Do your own study of God's word, research, and draw your own conclusions. Trust God not so-called "bible scholars".

Goes to show that education, no matter how many letters one may have after his name, is no guarantee to making good decisions.

When we read the bible, it seems that all of the warnings about "falling away" pertains to now. Has anyone considered that the falling away happened in the second century? The local churches that exist now are the product of the Early Church Fathers who debated, argued, and met in councils to use majority vote to determine bible truth.

That fallen-away Christianity still exists today.

It is likely invisible to most people that there are true believers who don't attend the local churches because they don't hold to the doctrines that are stated in the denominational "Statement of Beliefs."

Therefore, there are some who have fallen away from their local church, but not from God nor from His Son. They will, however, be besmirched by those who stay in those local congregations and be accused of "falling away." However, God knows who are His.

If they are stupid, you should be able to refute them, right?
Can you take the challenge?

They understand? Bart Ehrman? He is ANTI _BIBLE!

Satan has his scholars.

Its you who have yet to understand the Bible.
To call him a Bible scholar with understanding it reveals you are too impressed by letters after a man's name.

Bart Ehrman, often mentioned by the Muslim apologists, challenged Christianity and asserted that John’s gospel was unreliable. He wrote:

“Without a doubt, Jesus is presented as God in the gospel of John,”

Yet he then added:

“But since this gospel was written 60 years after Christ, it cannot be trusted. The belief of the divinity of Jesus was invented after his death. It is for this reason that it is absent in the other gospels. If Jesus has indeed claimed to be God, why should we wait for the fourth Gospel, that of John, to learn this news?”

Does Bart Ehrman deny the Deity of Jesus in the Gospels? • Jesus-Islam

Why are you yourself not able to refute them?

We're not going to do the dirty work for you.
That's your job before the Lord....

I posted last year. I watched the videos and came away with, it was all about them. To many I's and me's, and not enough Jesus.

Hebrews 3:12 - Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;

Bible scholars???

Not so much if they are turning their back on the Lord.
Remember, no one knows Scripture better than Satan and his demons. Knowing what Scripture says and what it means are two entirely different things. You could train a parrot to recite Scripture, but there is no cognitive understanding there at all.

They do not "know."
They only "memorize."

Memorizing does not make you to understand what has been memorized.

Such "scholars" are designed to confuse weak believers who do not know what they are doing.

Yet, we were all weak at one time....

So, do we actually believe that God will teach us and we need no other teachers? If we believe that biblical statement, why do we have denominations? Is it no obvious that people do not allow the time and effort with petitions to God himself to give them understanding?

What I think I am seeing is an uptick of people searching scriptures and letting Yahweh give them understanding. Those who have believed man's interpretations see it as falling away. It is - falling away from the doctrines of men.

And, by the way, while there has been "bible scholars" who have jumped from the hand of God, there are a great many who have discovered the flaws in old doctrines. They don't get much press, so we have to search to find them. They are devout Christians who have been given convictions by God and refute those doctrines that are in dispute. Some of you call them bad names because they don't agree with your interpretations.

A closed mind gathers no truth.

Some would consider hearing directly from God to be demonic. They believe that ONLY the words of the Bible and THEIR church can be trusted.

I can partially understand their fear in plumbing these mysterious waters. Jesus still beckons us, as he did Peter, to walk on those waters with him. Most are too fearful to get out of the boat.

Agree.

The vast majority of respondents to this topic are too fearful to take the challenge of actually listening to what these scholars have to say.

A closed mind gathers no truth.
Agree. Reminded me of this topic.

I think you are getting that idea from here....
The anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you.
Instead, His anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie; just as He has
taught you, remain in Him." 1 John 2:27

The irony of that is? ...
Why then would they need John to teach them that if they had no need for anyone to teach them?

Why was 1 John 2:27 stated?

To tell the believer that when after he has learned from a good teacher who teaches the Bible?
He is to do his own thinking with God. Not to have some man tell him how to interpret what he was taught.
Like the Judaizers tried to do with Paul's congregations....

He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill
all things.) And He gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors
and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body
of Christ." Ephesians 4:10-12

We come here to this forum after we have been hopefully been taught well by a good teacher, to see how well we can think
for ourselves with with the Spirit working in us.

Also, we have checks and balances in the body of Christ. The need to receive correction if we had been shown error.
But, we must decide with our anointing what we are to conclude for ourselves as per 1 John 2:27 telling us to do our own thinking.

Those who get locked into dogmatic creeds, and only can repeat from wrote? These have stepped outside of the anointing God gives.
Those ones are religious by nature in their flesh and want to have some religion do their own thinking for them.

grace and peace ...........

Nobody can seem to prove they are Bible scholars. Hell will be FILLED with people who don't believe in Hell!

Matthew 18:8-9
8 If your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life lame or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet, to be cast into the everlasting fire.
9 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

Amen Jesus!

They are simply scholars who teach what they want you to believe while using the Bible. Not Bible scholars who amplify and clarify what the Bible contains to be made known.

WatchTower convinces JW's that they are Scholars even tho they're not even scholars themselves.
