WatchTower convinces JW's that they are Scholars even tho they're not even scholars themselves.
What makes a scholar? Its an aptitude. It can be misapplied and abused.

Not all scholars are good. Some of Jesus biggest enemies were the scholars of his day.

A scholar is a person who is a researcher or has expertise in an academic discipline.
A scholar can also be an academic, who works as a professor, teacher, or researcher at a university.

Having a degree in Bible scholarship doesn’t make one Born Again.

To study the written word of God.

A....one doesn’t need a degree.

B....the vital ingredient is to be Born Of The Spirit.

Obviously there is history in the word, but, to understand it in the Spirit as that is what it was written in....then one needs to be Born Again by Gods Living witness His Holy Spirit....then we can start understanding the word, with the guidance of the Spirit, only HE can witness the truth of Gods word to our heart/ spirit....that is my testimony and belief 100%.

Same with the death and resurrection of Jesus.

How would one know that?....by Gods Living witness His Holy Spirit....who witnesses the truth of Gods word to our heart/ spirit...by becoming Born Again by the Living will of God.

He chooses who he will reveal his word to...100% ...if man thinks they can choose to be Born Of The Spirit....then imo they have been deceived....

Being Born Of The Spirit is a Living supernatural/ spiritual act of Gods witness, His Living Holy Spirit....mind Blowing!!!!

I never thought of myself as a scholar until today. I am such a person who is a researcher with expertise in an biblical discipline. And I have not left Christianity, but I have left the churches since I out grew them.

At some point, as one learns to shake off those doctrines "enforced" by denominations to permit God to give them the truth provided in the total of scripture, local churches may well be found, if not lacking, but counter to scriptural study. Topics become prohibited for fear of making the weak doubt in the teachings of "the church."

I think that the local teachers and preachers should always be willing to discuss their doctrines and offer valid explanations for any passages that dispute a doctrine espoused by the church in question.

What I have found, though, is the the teacher or preacher becomes irritated when asked to discuss those doctrines. That, imho, is a person who is NOT a teacher and should not be a preacher.

Be very wary of any doctrines which are not permitted to be discussed using the entirety of the known scriptures. I do not believe that Yahweh would be offended by diligently searching for truth.

Beware the person who feels self-appointed to correct "your errors." Scripture study is not opinions provided in bold print shaded with accusations of not being teachable nor have the spirit of God within. Conversations not being done with love and kindness is not a discussion. it is a war for ego.

GOD through Christ Jesus our Lord did not invite Bible scholars but the unlearned nobodies, where HE will pour out HIS Spirit.

John 5:
38. And ye have not HIS word abiding in you: for whom HE hath sent, Him ye believe not.
39. Search the scripture; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.
40. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Or probably fall under the category of the sower and the seed parable how one gives up. (Matthew 13:3-9beginning)

But believers are to pray, minister and persuade them to come back to their first love once again.

They are simply scholars who teach what they want you to believe while using the Bible. Not Bible scholars who amplify and clarify what the Bible contains to be made known.
Did you watch any of the videos? If not, you are only speculating. (possibly bearing false witness)

Some here painting pictures with a very wide brush. I guess it has never occurred to anyone that there may be churches, even denominations, that began with a core group of ordinary people who loved Jesus supremely, studied the scriptures, discovered truth that had been trampled on, ignored, lain unseen for centuries, and God used these humble people to bring those truths together for His sake, and for His purpose.
Nor had it occurred to anyone that there may be some here who actually joined a particular church or denomination, because that individual discovered truth He had never seen before, and then to his delight God led him to a group who had been practising that truth for a long time unbeknown to that individual. Not everything is black and white. I think those here speaking loudest in favour of leaving the churches are perhaps they must guilty of not adequately searching for truth and for those who already practise it.

Most of my life Christians have encouraged me often and with great desire to study the Word for myself and make it my own. And when I did that... the same people said no you went to far. You are now outside of our understanding and therefore you must be wrong because you're not at the level with the rest of us who did not study the Word and make it our own. And if I might comment on a point you brought up about welcoming all biblical discussions. I have been deleted, censored, and banned from many sites and even been told here there is a biblical discussion that is not allowed.

I had the same problem for a while.....

Then by divine guidance through prayer, I found a series of excellent pastor scholars

Not saying you will.
You must really want truth, not simply wonder about it, and think it makes one look good to say one really wants truth.

For here is what happens when truly sound teaching is presented....
For the time will come when they will not tolerate/ put up with/ sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of
teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2 Timothy 4:3

When one finds sound doctrine he may find himself almost all alone for that very reason.

Many will gather around them a great number of teachers to tell them what fits well with their own preferred way to think about God.
That is why we find so many denominations.

Teaching oneself is spiritually like taking up brain surgery, self taught.

Yes I searched diligently and paid the price traveling around the country while others were safely home with their families.

I was disowned by my Jewish parents when moved out of state to attend a Bible college... Never regretted it.

Some Christians look for Jesus in all the wrong places. If you want to find or understand what the kingdom of God is all about, don't look for it in miracles, or in 'tongues', or being 'slain in the spirit', or any physical sign or mental knowledge or spiritual dream or vision...no, none of those things for they can all be counterfeited by Satan, and often are. The greatest manifestation of the power of the kingdom of God is when human nature is so changed that it is brought to resemble the character of Jesus. Satan can't do that.

I have read the writings of those who have graduate degrees from seminaries and have seen how much they look like word-smiths in their writings. They ignore the elephants in the room of certain topics - or skip over the topics - period.
It took time for me to accept that the things I had both been taught AND taught to others was wrong. That happened when I prayed repeatedly for the truth. Then, when conviction landed on me; it was a bit traumatic. I prayed the God take it away from me because it changed my life dramatically. He didn't take it away, but I have the peace in knowing rather than the stress of rebelling.
