Thank you.
In "
1 Peter 1:22-25," pay careful attention to
grammar and
context.
Yes, I have always stated that the imperishable seed is the Holy Spirit, and that is why I also quoted for you "
Ephesians 1:13" as follows:
Ephesians 1:13 (WEB) 13 In him you also,
having heard the
word of the truth, the
Good News of your salvation - in whom,
having also believed, you were
sealed with the
promised Holy Spirit
Just as in "
Ephesians 1:13," the Holy Spirit (
incorruptible seed) is
again said to be received
through/
by the Word of God in "
1 Peter 1:23."
1 Peter 1:23 (WEB)
23 having been
born again, not
of/
from [
Greek: ek] corruptible seed, but
of/
from [
Greek: ek]
incorruptible,
through/
by [
Greek: dia]
the word of God, which lives and remains forever
ek:
Definition: from, from out of
Usage: from out, out from among, from, suggesting from the interior outwards.
dia:
Definition: through, on account of, because of
Usage: (a) gen: through, throughout, by the instrumentality of, (b) acc: through, on account of, by reason of, for the sake of, because of.
Born again
of/
from incorruptible seed (Holy Spirit)
, through/
by the Word of God. Notice that the "incorruptible seed" is
not the word of God; rather, the "incorruptible seed" is
through/
by the word of God.
Now that we see the grammar, let us look at the context of "
1 Peter 1:22-25."
----------
1 Peter 1:22-25 (WEB)
22 Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth
of/
from [
Greek: ek] the Spirit in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from the heart fervently,
23 having been
born again, not
of/
from [
Greek: ek] corruptible seed, but
of/
from [
Greek: ek]
incorruptible,
through/
by [
Greek: dia]
the word of God, which lives and remains forever. 24 For,
“
All flesh is like grass, and all of man’s glory like the flower in the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls;
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.” [
Isaiah 40:6-8]
{{{
This is}}}
the word of
the Gospel which was
preached to you.
----------
Notice that the "
word of God" (
verse 23) is plainly
identified by Peter in "
verse 25" as follows:
{{{This is}}} the word of
the Gospel which was
preached to you.
Since Peter identifies the "word of God" as the word of the gospel that was preached, then the "word of God" is not the Holy Spirit.
Your definition of the "
Living Word of God" as the "
Holy Spirit" is not found in the Scriptures.
The Spirit is received by faith after hearing the Word of God.
Ephesians 1:13 (WEB) 13 In him you also,
having heard the
word of the truth, the
Good News of your salvation - in whom,
having also believed, you were
sealed with the
promised Holy Spirit
The
"word of God" always means
"The Scriptures" unless
"Word of God" is specifically referring to Lord Jesus (John 1:1-3; Revelation 19:13).
John 1:1 (KJV) [
referring to Lord Jesus] In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
Revelation 19:13 (KJV) [
referring to Lord Jesus] 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and
his name is called The Word of God.
Lord Jesus is also called "
The Word of Life."
1 John 1:1 (KJV) [
referring to Lord Jesus] That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have
seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and
our hands have handled, of
The Word of Life
The
word of God, the
living word of God is referring to the Holy Scriptures.
Lord Jesus is the
Word of God incarnate
.
The
Holy Spirit is
never the
Word of God.
My Dear Brother, so much of the “ written “ word.
Being Born Again = our spirit is Born Again = it comes Alive in the imperishable seed = the Living Holy Spirit.
Of imperishable seed= the Living Holy Spirit = that liveth and abideth forever = Liveth and abideth forever in our hearts..= He has taken up residence in our hearts/ spirit = His Living Spirit brings our spirit Alive
I am so sorry that you went to all that trouble, only understanding the written word = you need to understand the Living Holy Spirit = that is very much Alive and Active = he is like the wind Dear Brother, you can’t see him or know where he is going to next = when he does make us Born Again by His Living Spirit = it will blow ones socks off= the Living word of the Holy Spirit can NEVER leave his Born Again child’s heart.
May you know the Living Holy Spirit seed and the purest of Love abundantly in your spirit, in Jesus Name....Amen!!
That took me about 3 minutes to post, we can only know the Living Holy Spirit in our hearts Dear Brother, that is where he liveth and abideth forever, in Jesus Name...Amen!
The written word is backed up by Gods Living word.
Edit to add A Born Again doesn’t sin because God’s seed remains in them = remains in their heart/ spirit, = the seed that we are Born Again of = the wonderful/ beautiful/ perfect Living Holy Spirit = my lovely Brother in Christ.xx
That Living seed that was planted in our hearts/ spirit , by the Living Holy Spirit, will take root, grow, mature, and flourish, that Living seed possesses our spirit, we become more and more like Jesus, because we bear his fruit from within our spirit, that is where he starts working in us, the moment our spirit becomes Born Again of imperishable seed....xxx
Well done for your studies of the written word, we also need to know foremost and utmost, the Living seed of God= The Holy Spirit.xx
1 Peter 1
King James Version
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
