My encouragement for any new reader of the bible to start with Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and just get surrounded with the theme that is going on. The bible is hard for some to understand, because it takes time to really get intuned with knowing it. Some give up even reading it sometimes. That would be my encouragement, just read, and consider what you read, make notes and familiarize yourself. The bible is the only thing that really helps in knowing more about God and his will, which to me is important.

How would you respond to the OP then?
You just promoted the book ABOVE the author.

If you were asked to spend one day seeking the author
without using the book, what would you do all day?

You wrote you supposedly love to read your bible everyday. And to your response I did not say worship the bible. Steven. How else is a person gonna learn about Jesus? I had to take my own dive in it at 26, and I didnt know all the things I would end up learning today. Still room to grow, grow in faith, grow in Christ.

Steven, your hypothetical question doesn't interest me. It assumes I believe there is an author when I could not be a believer in the first place.

Why do you like to do what seems like knocking the bible around for?

Not really a hypothetical question.
If you were imprisoned for your faith and had to live without a Bible,
what would you do to maintain your relationship with God?

It's all an assumption, therefore your question is hypothetical, it's alright if you disagree with me. You're asking a person who is already well-read in the bible, as far as most of the New Testament goes.

Why are you so frightened by the question?

Some go on spiritual retreats that are a day of silence, just seeking God.

Trying to get people to wake up from the opiate of religion.

Okay, may God be with you as you proceed to go about your life, doing his will.

I told you I was not interested in the question. It's a polite "no" I am not going to answer your question just because you may desire me to answer it.

Its a pity that forums allow the word of God to be disrespected.
That's true.
And you would know.

It's only been around since the fourth century.

The Torah has been around over 4500 yrs.
Im not surprised that you dont realize that the Old Testament, is "bible".

And not available in every language.

The reason that the English Bible is accepted world wide, is because God's Foreknowledge knew that in the last 500 Yrs before the Great Trib started, the English Language would become the language currency of the world.
THis is why you dont need Koine Greek, and this is why you dont need every language translated into a Bible.

And only readable by the literate.

I dont consider you biblically literate.
But i do consider you something unfortunate that is allowed to continue on the Forum.
Be glad im not a mod.

Bibliolators like to exalt it above its utility.

Blank Fools enjoy abusing the word of God in public.

@St. SteVen,

You questions are just hypothetical. There is no sense in answering them.

If you were imprisoned for your faith and had to live without a Bible,
what would you do to maintain your relationship with God?

How did Paul handle it? Continued to share the good things that were learned, with singing, praise and prayer.

What does this have to do with encouraging people to read their bible? You say you knock around the bible to get people out of religion? Who here is in religion?

This post is dismissive.
You seem to only have a desire to speak your piece without been challenged.
No interest in communicating on any meaningful level.

I do hope that God is with you through daily life, and many other people. Went ahead an answered your question #456, Some of the apostles were looked at as uneducated, and knowing nothing. It just depends on how one decides to tip the boat.
There.
Now was that really so difficult? Good job.

.
Sure. No reason to pat me on the back though, steven. But How did Paul know so much about God, if he never had be in and read the old testament as much as he had?

That restoration you mention is intact today, God has reconciled the world unto himself through Christ, all things have been placed beneath Christ, even the last enemy death. Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets, and he fulfilled his return, and overcoming sat with his fathet in his throne. All of Gods creations have their sins paid for whether they believe or not. God had given all people the ability to choose, the tree of knowledge of good and evil, or partake of the tree of life. All people after death here are raised again, into a new spiritual body, some of condemnation, some of life. It seems to me God has been able to have unbelievers and believers all residing in the Heaven Realm, with the inside and outside of the Kingdom; with the doing away of hell, it seems the lake of fire comes from God; and their is a purging process perhaps of those who desire to come into the Kingdom, even in the afterlife though there may be some type of loss going through thay purging. God desires for all to be saved and come to him, its just their choice to do it in this lifetime of existence or in the next one to come.
Wow.
I didn't realize that you accepted UR. Kudos.

Glad you asked.
Saul met the author on the road to Damascus. Get it?
