How do you reconcile "the gates of Hell will NOT prevail" with Satan supposedly taking most of mankind to Hell with him?

If the gate does not prevail. The enemy will come in and attempt to rescue people within the gates
Let's review the verse in question.
You correctly stated that:
A gate is a defensive term, it keeps people out.
But what is Jesus saying?
"... the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."

As you correctly said, "A gate is a defensive term, it keeps people out."
Okay, then if the gate fails, it doesn't keep people out. Right?
So, if the gates DON'T prevail against the church, what does that mean?

Matthew 16:18 KJV
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church;
and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

The gates will NOT prevail and Jesus will save ALL! Why? Because that's the way God has willed it to be!

John 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
So jesus will save all nonbelievers?

I am not sure why it seems to be difficult

I will build my church’’and the gates of hell will not prevail against it

We must enter the gates of hell (go into the world) to rescue people out from Satans grip.. when we do that. We grow or build the church..

That's good.
Based on your posts, I wasn't sure if you were getting it. Thanks for the clarification.

I like that statement but Hell means death, not the world. Jesus built his church and nothing can stop it because that is God's will.

No it doesn't.

I believe that Jesus was speaking figuratively. I understand that Hell is also known as Sheol.

"Sheol, abode of the dead in the Hebrew Bible (the Christian Old Testament). The term can be interpreted to mean either the literal place in which dead people are placed (i.e., in the ground) or the ancient world's concept of the afterlife as a subterranean “land of gloom and deep darkness” (Book of Job 10:21).Jul 12, 2023"

His comment was perfectly clear. And again He said:

Mt 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Rev 20
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Oh please, stop trying to rewrite our Bible. You're not qualified. You want to remove Hell fire from our Bible? Be prepared to pay the price.

Revelation 22
19 If anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Which is it? You're risking leading people to Hell fire and being with them.

Revelation 20
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Do you believe that God casts people off forever?
I've already answered that MANY times. Pay attention!

So then you agree that the following verse is inaccurate.

Lamentations 3:31-33

King James Version

Lamentations 3:31-33

King James Version

31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
I agree with Jesus. Why don't you? Aren't you a Christian? Why are you ATTACKING Jesus with OT?

Matthew 7
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE iniquity.

You're dodging. Is Lamentations 3:31 true or false?

You're just filled with irony. Hell will be filled with people who don't believe in Hell! Why are you attacking Jesus with OT??? You have evaded nearly Scripture I posted by Jesus and you accuse me of 'dodging'? Is there anything in the NT you believe?

Jesus, true or false?

Matthew 7
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,

You cannot answer a simple question because you have a monolithic misunderstanding of God, his nature, his plan, and his scriptures. You could gain understanding but your Himalayan ego and vanity precludes you from doing so. You wish to persuade but are unwilling to be persuaded yourself. You lack intellectual honesty and integrity. You believe yourself to have an infallible understanding when, in fact, you are unable to respond intelligently to simple questions and that is because your theology is significantly flawed.
