Just as an aside, Matthew 5:5 is the verse I have printed on my business card.

I understand him to be speaking about inheriting the planet in the future.

It appears to me that you’re talking about bodies, not land. If that’s right, then you and I have a different understanding concerning what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 5:5.
Explain how so many of the patriarchs lived in that region yet never inherited the promise, or never entered the promised land?

In a word, resurrection is the answer to your question. They will receive what they were promised.

[13] These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

The promise was the gifting of the Holy Ghost. This is the first resurrection.

Another reason why some Jews* reject Jesus?

Oh wow, I thought you being a messianic Jew would know by now that God was never in that stone temple. He never even ordered the building of it.

Haven’t you heard the prophet, the most high doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands? Do you believe God was behind that thick curtain in the stone building?

I’m not a messianic Jew. I’m a messianic Christian. I agree with messianic Jews on some things; disagree with messianic Jews on other things.

My apologies.

So what do you say was God behind the curtain in that little room.

I believe we’re getting to the core of the reason they rejected him. They wanted desperately to hold on to their little piece of dirt. Yet Paul eventually concluded it was only dung.

I’d have a hard time agreeing with this.

That’s alright. We’re just having a conversation. I have conversations all the time with people whom I agree and disagree with.

Scripture is pretty clear that He wasn’t in those Pharisees.

The passage of scripture I had in mind and was referring to is Psalm 139:7-12.

Then why was the veil in the temple torn from top to bottom when Jesus was crucified?

The wall of partition separating Jews and Gentiles was torn down. - my position

I’m not sure what his position is and I should have waited for him to express it. My apologies to him. I was distracted (watching the College World Series) and thought it was him asking me.

Why do you think it was torn down?

It wasn’t.

It was his body.
Hebrews 10:20 KJVS
[20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

Rome May have tricked your mind. You see the Spirit of God was in Jesus alone, the first born of God. The Baptist actually witnessed this. He was the way!

That's why the rabbis and Sanhedrin wanted to stone Christ-making Himself to be equal with God-since He IS God.
This is illogical fallacy from your side.

Ho kurion mou kai ho theos mou-who said that? And if you know-how are you going to "reason" this away.
Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach said to them, Omein, omein, I say to you, before Avraham came into being, Ani Hu. [SHEMOT 3:4; 6:3; YESHAYAH 41:4; 43:10,13]

Who is Christ?

Isa 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling forth the dorot from the beginning?
I Hashem, the Rishon (First), and with the Acharonim (Last ones); I am He.

Isa 43:10 Ye are My edim (witnesses), saith Hashem. And Avdi whom I have chosen; so that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that Ani Hu (I am He); before Me there was no El formed, neither shall there be after Me.
Isa 43:11 I, even I, am Hashem; and apart from Me there is no Moshi’a.
Isa 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have proclaimed, when there was no zar (foreign) [g-d] among you; therefore you [plural] are My edim (witnesses), saith Hashem, that I am El.

Isa 43:13 Yes, before the yom was, Ani Hu (I am He); and there is none that can deliver out of My Yad; I work, and who shall reverse it?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then they took up stones that they might stone him, but Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach was hidden and departed out of the Beis Hamikdash. [Ex 17:4; Lv 24:16; 1Sm 30:6]

Why?
Johann.
Man Johann, I can pick apart practically anything you read into scripture deliberately, called Eisegesis. And then you do a shoddy job of this as well. And of course from your posts you do not do Exegesis at all as you seem to completely ignore the context and setting the scripture it is placed in. It does not serve your purpose of course, so why go there and expose yourself, aye....

Take for example the crucial expression you raised and got it completely wrong.

The express is 'equality with God' or of similar words and meaning.

So let me explain it briefly using exegesis of scripture. The Pharisees and most learned Jews knew this expression very well and the Pharisees used it against the Son of God for a deliberate and convincing reason, to attempt to use it as a charge of blasphemy in the future, to then justify his dead.

You see in the Hebraic culture and religion, 'equality with God' could be used for any man in the service of God, as Moses or a prophet, and Christ in particular because he is the only man calling himself the most powerful prophet, the only Son of God and his Messiah. Way too much for these Jews to accept...

You see that if the Pharisees truly believed he was the Son of God, as they also believed in the use of the Hebraic cultural instrument of 'agency' in their thinking, something that Greek culture and the modern world are ignorant about, the Son would be commanded honor and respect beyond and above Abraham by the Pharisees, and his words mean exactly as God's words himself. And the Son's display of public healing miracles means exactly that they were the work of God, his Father and no other. And you know what, they were God's words and his miracles working through this sinless man, Jesus. And this was too much for the Pharisees as they even called him having a demon within him. So being 'equal with God' and believing it was not robbery of Jesus to be 'equal' is the naked truth, indeed.

And the point you must also understand is that this 'equality with God' is not a cue expression for some OTHER being, as the SAME as God, the Father. It never means that the man Jesus, the Son of God is the same being as God, his Father as both the Pharisees and Jesus never believed this, clearly, and as you WANT to believe otherwise, so desperately. And Jesus knew the charge of the Pharisees and what it meant to his integrity, faith and love for his Father. Jesus stood his ground with determination and his love for his Father, because he was the Son of God and thus equal with his Father. The Pharisees just did not believe this as fact, and they thought he was a fraud, and that Jesus was not the Son of God. They did not believe that a human man could be a unique being, the only Son of God.

So why do you use this 'equality with God' expression to support that Jesus is God himself and disfigure scripture? This is nonsense, deceptive and dangerous reasoning. You clearly lack understanding of the local context and the local cultural Jewish understanding of this critical expression.

So can you respond to this point, as most of the time you respond with a runaway act of words with a trail of links and other scriptures as chaff for me stumble over if I wished to follow. And I do not, so why do you keep doing it.....as you keep saying I have more links...TO NOWHERE and of no understanding.

Your comment: "That's why the rabbis and Sanhedrin wanted to stone Christ-making Himself to be equal with God-since He IS God..."

No Johann, they wanted to stone him because he was truly calling himself the Son of God and his Messiah. If they believed in Jesus they would also have to believe he was greater than their Father Abraham who also spoke God's words. It is clearly written in scripture.

Why did you form an illogical and baseless conclusion. Oh that's right, you haver a man-made Creed to uphold, and in it it says that the Son is also God as the Father, not found in the word of God.

Can you now see why Jesus had NO choice, and he kept saying to the these powerful Jews he was the Son of God, and his Messiah and also greater in importance to Abraham...and never called himself God? Jesus experienced his Father God living, speaking and acting within his body.

God's word and spirit enfleshed themselves (God's attribute and composition) into a man we call Yahshua or Jesus from or before his actual birth. You however believe in the Greek pagan idea of a god-man that God's being and in its entirety, became the man Jesus.

And you MUST view scripture in this light and usually trample all over it in the process as you think and believe as a spiritual barbarian with lots of links trailing you and accessed mainly by the use of a cut and paste process...hahaha.

I always thought it represented separation from God because of our sin, and when Jesus paid the price it restored our relationship with God and we no longer had to depend on religious ceremonies to be forgiven of our sins. Jesus is the mediator between God and men and he is our high priest. We don’t need a man to go in and sprinkle blood on the mercy seat anymore
