The sad fact is that you cannot read scripture without your bias getting in the way.....let's see what the scripture actually says.....The sad fact is they do not see this truth in SCripture
Hebrews1: 6 "But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."
Is this the "worship" one necessarily gives to Yahweh? This word is "proskyneō " and according to Strongs, it can mean...
- to kiss the hand to (towards) one, in token of reverence
- among the Orientals, esp. the Persians, to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound reverence
- in the NT by kneeling or prostration to do homage (to one) or make obeisance, whether in order to express respect or to make supplication
- used of homage shown to men and beings of superior rank
- to the Jewish high priests
- to God
- to Christ
- to heavenly beings
- to demons"
- used of homage shown to men and beings of superior rank
@ Matthew 2:2 it says of the magi who came to Herod.........
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship G4352 Him.”
Had these pagan astrologers come to "worship" the infant Jesus, or had they come to pay homage to a new "King of the Jews"?
@ Matthew 8:2....
"And a man with leprosy came to Him and bowed G4352 down G4352 before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
Same word, but not rendered "worship"
@ Matthew 9:18...
"While He was saying these things to them, behold, a synagogue official came and bowed G4352 down G4352 before G4352 Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will become alive again.”
Same word.....still not "worship".
@ Matthew 15:25...
"But she came and began to bow G4352 down G4352 before G4352 Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
@ Matthew 18:26...
"So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated G4352 himself G4352 before G4352 him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’"
Are you seeing what I am seeing?
You seem to believe everything you are told without bothering to check if what you believe is even true.....that is something that generally makes a fool of people.
As you can see just from those few references in Matthew, "proskyneō " has more than one meaning and context determines what belongs in any passage of scripture....so again it isn't the words that are in error, but the interpretation that is misleading.
As for the rest of that passage, what ignorance is displayed by those who misread what it says.....look again...
"8 But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."
There it is in the section highlighted by one who cannot comprehend what is written....
"to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.....You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions."
The son is spoken of as one anointed by his God.....how is one anointed BY HIS GOD, if he IS HIS GOD?
10 And: "You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands."
Even though it says "LORD" in capitals which is used to identify Yahweh, it cannot be disputed from the scriptures that the pre-human Jesus was his Father's "firstborn" and "only begotten son", meaning that he is a created being who was at his Father's side at creation and who was used as the agency "THROUGH” whom all creation was brought forth.
Revelation 3:14 also clearly states Jesus own words identifying himself as....."‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation."
Colossians 1:15-17...
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
There it is....he was the one used by the Father to create all things, and it clearly states that he is "the firstborn of all creation"....
The statement that "all things were created through him and FOR HIM" shows that he is not the Creator, but he was his God's "Master workman"
"Jehovah produced me as the beginning of his way,
The earliest of his achievements of long ago.
23 From ancient times I was installed,
From the start, from times earlier than the earth. . . . .
When he prepared the heavens, I was there;
When he marked out the horizon on the surface of the waters,
28 When he established the clouds above,
When he founded the fountains of the deep,
29 When he set a decree for the sea
That its waters should not pass beyond his order,
When he established the foundations of the earth,
30 Then I was beside him as a master worker.
I was the one he was especially fond of day by day;
I rejoiced before him all the time;
31 I rejoiced over his habitable earth,
And I was especially fond of the sons of men." (Prov 8:30-31)
The Bible does not say what you want it to.....but because your ears are stopped up, the truth never reaches them....
