I agree, we are justified based on the cross, and yes, Christ redeemed us with his blood.

We are not justified based on the death of Jesus..but on his resurrection...as we are raised into the justification of an eternal kind of life.. No Adamic flesh can be justified. No one under the law can be justified in His sight.

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

1 Cor. 15:14 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable

Now I don't know many who understand how this works. The eternal life of Jesus could not be bound by death. Jesus conquered death and the righteousness of God proved that eternal life trumps death.

Likewise when we walk in resurrection life....we too are justified by His life...His blood. The life is in the blood.

Now a dead religion sees justification in dried blood. But a living faith is based on the lifeblood of Jesus...that quickens us into His life. So we are to walk In Him. In Him is where the lifeblood is.

But we are justified by faith, which means God is granting me justification because I put my trust in the cross. According to Paul, through the cross Jesus gained access into the heavenly temple to intercede for the saints as their high priest.

The justification by faith is while we are still under the law. We believe in God even though we are not experiencing Him...but trusting in His word. That is NOT the same kind of justification that we have as we abide IN Him.

The justification by faith (and works) is based on the part of us (inner man) that is created in God's image...and that turns to God.

The justification of Christ (God) is when we are crucified with Him to walk in Him....in the light as He is in the light.
What if Jesus decides not to intercede for me? Then I am lost. Why? Because Jesus didn't satisfy justice at the cross. If he did, then God OWES me life. Instead, God grants me life, if and only if, Jesus wishes it. I am putting my hope and trust in the fact that Jesus actually did ascend to the right hand of the father and that he will, indeed, intercede on my behalf.

Paul argues that mercy trumps justice. Romans 5. We are saved by grace. If we were saved by the satisfaction of justice, it would no longer be grace.

What am I missing?
You have this part right! :)

We can't justify ourselves and leave God out of the process. Only God can justify us...there is no name it and claim it with God.

That there should arise false prophets within the Church was something only to be expected, for in every generation false prophets had been responsible for leading God’s people astray and for bringing disaster on the nation. It is worth while looking at the false prophets in the Old Testament story for their characteristics were recurring in the time of Peter and are still recurring today.

(i) The false prophets were more interested in gaining popularity than in telling the truth. Their policy was to tell people what they wanted to hear. The false prophets said, "Peace, peace, when there is no peace" (Jer_6:14).

They saw visions of peace, when the Lord God was saying that there was no peace (Eze_13:16).

In the days of Jehosaphat, Zedekiah, the false prophet, donned his horns of iron and said that Israel would push the Syrians out of the way as he pushed with these horns; Micaiah the true prophet foretold disaster if Jehosaphat went to war. Of course, Zedekiah was popular and his message was accepted; but Jehosaphat went forth to war with the Syrians and perished tragically (1Ki_22:1-53 ).

In the days of Jeremiah, Hananiah prophesied the swift end of the power of Babylon, while Jeremiah prophesied the servitude of the nation to her; and again the prophet who told people what they wished to hear was the popular one (Jer_28:1-17 ).

Diogenes, the great cynic philosopher, spoke of the false teachers of his day whose method was to follow wherever the applause of the crowd led. One of the first characteristics of the false prophet is that he tells men what they want to hear and not the truth they need to hear.

(ii) The false prophets were interested in personal gain. As Micah said, "Its priests teach for hire, and its prophets divine for money" (Mic_3:11). They teach for filthy lucre’s sake (Tit_1:11), and they identify godliness and gain, making their religion a money-making thing (1Ti_6:5)
.

We can see these exploiters at work in the early church. In The Didache, The Teaching of the Twelve Apostles, which is what might be called the first service-order book, it is laid down that a prophet who asks for money or for a table to be spread in front of him, is a false prophet.

"Traffickers in Christ," the Didache (compare G1322) calls such men (The Didache 11). The false prophet is a covetous creature who regards men as dupes to be exploited for his own ends.

(iii) The false prophets were dissolute in their personal life. Isaiah writes: "The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink; they are confused with wine" (Isa_28:7).

Jeremiah says, "In the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing; they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen the hands of evil-doers.... They lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness" (Jer_23:14; Jer_23:32).

The false prophet in himself is a seduction to evil rather than an attraction to good.
(iv) The false prophet was above all a man who led other men further away from God instead of closer to him. The prophet who invites the people: "Let us go after other gods," must be mercilessly destroyed (Deu_13:1-5; Deu_18:20). The false prophet takes men in the wrong direction.

These were the characteristics of the false prophets in the ancient days and in Peter’s time; and they are their characteristics still.

In this verse Peter has certain things to say about these false prophets and their actions.

(i) They insidiously introduce destructive heresies.

The Greek for heresy is hairesis (G139). It comes from the verb haireisthai (compare G140), which means to choose; and originally it was a perfectly honourable word. It simply meant a line of belief and action which a man had chosen for himself. In the New Testament we read of the hairesis (G139) of the Sadducees, the Pharisees, and the Nazarenes (Act_5:17; Act_15:5; Act_24:5).

It was perfectly possible to speak of the hairesis (G139) of Plato and to mean nothing more than those who were Platonist in their thought. It was perfectly possible to speak of a group of doctors who practised a certain method of treatment as a hairesis (G139). But very soon in the Christian Church hairesis (G139) changed its complexion. In Paul’s thought heresies and schisms go together as things to be condemned (1Co_11:18-19); haireseis (G139) (the plural form of the word) are part of the works of the flesh; a man that is a heretic is to be warned and even given a second chance, and then rejected (Tit_3:10).

Why the change? The point is that before the coming of Jesus, who is the way, the truth, and the life, there was no such thing as definite, God-given truth. A man was presented with a number of alternatives any one of which he was perfectly free to choose to believe.

But with the coming of Jesus, God’s truth came to men and they had either to accept or to reject it. A heretic then became a man who believed what he wished to believe instead of accepting the truth of God which he ought to believe.

What was happening in the case of Peter’s people was that certain self-styled prophets were insidiously persuading men to believe the things they wished to be true rather than the things which God had revealed to be true. They did not set themselves up as opponents of Christianity. Far from it. They set themselves up as the finest fruits of Christian thinking; and so it was gradually and subtly that people were being lured away from God’s truth to other men’s private opinions, which is what heresy is.

(ii) These men denied the Lord who had bought them. This idea of Christ buying men for himself is one which runs through the whole New Testament. It comes from his own word that he had come to give his life a ransom for many (Mar_10:45). The idea was that men were slaves to sin and Jesus purchased them at the cost of his life for himself, and, therefore, for freedom. "You were bought with a price," says Paul (1Co_7:23). "Christ redeemed us (bought us out) from the curse of the law" (Gal_3:13). In the new song in the Revelation the hosts of heaven tell how Jesus Christ bought them with his blood out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation (Rev_5:9). This clearly means two things. It means that the Christian by right of purchase belongs absolutely to Christ; and it means that a life which cost so much cannot be squandered on sin or on cheap things.

Who are "they?"
They were
The leaders of that people . and i see the same thing occuring within christendom . Its the same identical pattern .
A great and grievious thing has occured within christendom . The teachers bear rule by their own means
they prophesy of smooth things which please the people . They strengthen the hands of the wicked
by supporting their sins , and the peoples seem to love to have it so .
For even when one comes along to speak truth
they say AWAY with the preaching of the biblical Christ and truth
TEACH US SMOOTH THINGS . The they were the LEADERS and so too this is the case today .
i have seen a grievious thing within the land of christendom
the peoples no longer even try and hide their sin , THEY Celebrate it right in the streets , in the open for all to see
and he who does correct makes himself a prey to their teeth .
There truly is nothing new under that ol sun . And we were warned how great the falling away would become .

He speaks fluent "chrisianese" in every post and Thread, that has nothing to do with the NT, Paul's Doctrine, the Cross of Christ, or being Born again.

He's Trolling, and just comes here to see if His Thread(s) can keep getting bumped, as he's all about craving the attention.

Could it be that he wears a T-Shirt in public that says......"LOOK AT ME".

I think so.... inmo. He has a closet full.

And they taught the people to trust in them by their lies . Saying things like no one can a leader of the peoples
be a deciever . WHEN in truth JESUS HIMSELF had warned this very thing .
and later paul would too .
Notice when the apostels asked JESUS about His coming and the signs of the times
WHAT was HIS first response to them .
BEWARE OF WOLVES that come to YOU in SHEEPS CLOTHING .
MANY false prophets shall arise .
Now paul backed this up when he told those elders of ephesus who had come down to hear him .
And also men of your own selves shall arise to draw away desciples after them .

Teaching damnamble hersays , DENYING even the LORD that brought them .
And MANY shall follow their pernicious ways , by whom the way of truth shall be EVIL SPOKEN .

Now he is stealing what I said when I rebuked him about the death of Jesus as justification.

Nothing is original with you is it epi. I opposed your death justification theory for weeks and now you are quoting what I used against your own false theology. When one tries to deceive they forget their own lies. I'm the one who pointed out it was the Resurrection not His death that gives life and you insisted it was His death.

What tangled webs one weaves when first he sets out to deceive,

Be not partakers with them . Heed not their lies , follow not their ways .
COME YE OUT from amongst them , touch not the unclean thing .
Drink not of their cisterns for they are cisterns of their own polluted and feet trodden doctrines .
Let all who name the name of CHRIST depart from inquity and learn well the doctrine of our HOLY LORD . Learn those bibles well .
For this is an all out war for the souls of men and only the lambs can resist the lies of men gone wrong .
JESUS is with the sheep and the sheep hear his voice and no stranger will they follow .
Depart from the tabernacles of men gone wrong and HEED the VOICE of CHRIST . For why will you die .
The LORD is longsuffering , desiring not one to perish . His desire is that the wicked repent of their evil , repent
and believe on CHRIST JESUS and have ETERNAL LIFE .
The prophets of baal are many , the teachers of baal are greatly increased . And a time of great testing
is upon the land . CHOOSE YE CHRIST and follow HIM and TEST ALL who do speak .

Good question. Why did Jesus have to die? Apparently, Jesus was moving us from one system to another. He took us from the system of "sin and death" to a new system of "the Spirit of life." And in order to demonstrate this, he volunteered to suffer the injustice of the former system in order to inaugurate the new system of resurrection and eternal life. Because Jesus obeyed the Father, even unto death, the Father declared that Jesus was, indeed, his beloved son by raising him from the dead. Does that make sense?
"the injustice of the former system"..? Yikes, no the former system of the old covenant was perfectly just (assuming it was followed as God had instructed)....an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, life for a life, etc. The wages of sin is death...there is no getting away from that...it is the righteous judgment of God because it is just. But Jesus tasted death (the wages of sin) for every man. This is how He fulfilled the righteous Law on our behalf.

And mercy is mercy precisely because it isn't just, it is undeserved clemency.

And EVERY WORD OF GOD is TESTED and TRUE . By the holy words of the LORD shall we test what men do teach .
The problem is many have removed the Word and Words of GOD as the foundation
and now trust in what men say about such words . Even when they omit them and say alas , alas those were for a different time .
My advice is we HEED NO SUCH MEN . Rather let us stay glued to the holy , pure and lovely God inspired words of TRUTH .

You remind me of "Smoking Joe Frazier"--gloves blazing!--but spot on

Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.

--and correct, many don't "work" with the Scriptures-
Heb_4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

For the Dvar Hashem is chai (living) and chazak (strong), sharper than every doubled-edged cherev and penetrating as far as the division of nefesh and ruach, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the machshavot and deliberations of the kavanat halev (the inner directedness of the heart).
Active (energēs). Energetic, powerful (Joh_1:12; Php_3:21; Col_1:29).
Sharper (tomōteros). Comparative of tomos, cutting (from temnō, to cut), late adjective, here only in the N.T.
Than (huper). Often so after a comparative (Luk_16:8; 2Co_12:13).
Two-edged (distomon). “Two-mouthed” (di-, stoma), double-mouthed like a river (Polybius), branching ways (Sophocles), applied to sword (xiphos) by Homer and Euripides.

Piercing (diiknoumenos). Present middle participle of diikneomai, old verb to go through, here only in N.T.
Even to the dividing (achri merismou). Old word from merizō (meros, part), to partition.

Of soul and spirit (psuchēs kai pneumatos). As in 1Th_5:23; 1Co_15:45, but not an argument for trichotomy. Psychology is constantly changing its terminology.
Of both joints and marrow (harmōn te kai muelōn). From arō, to join, comes harmos, old word, here only in the N.T. Muelos (from muō, to shut), old word, here only in N.T. This surgeon goes into and through the joints and marrow, not cleaving between them.

Quick to discern (kritikos). Verbal adjective in -ikos, from krinō, skilled in judging, as the surgeon has to be and able to decide on the instant what to do. So God’s word like his eye sees the secret lurking doubt and unbelief “of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (enthumēseōn kai ennoiōn kardias). The surgeon carries a bright and powerful light for every dark crevice and a sharp knife for the removal of all the pus revealed by the light. It is a powerful picture here drawn.
Robertson.
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1) "Preach the word" (kerekson ton logon) "Preach, proclaim, or herald the Word;" The charge of both the ministers and the church, Mat_28:18-20; 1Co_1:21-23; 2Co_5:19-20; Col_1:25-29. To preach the word means more than a "pet-part" of it, Act_20:26-27.

2) "Be instant in season, out of season" (episthethi e u k airos, akairos) "Be attentive, alert, diligent; seasonably, unseasonably;" When things seem favorable and unfavorable, day and night, Act_20:31.

SEASONABLE PREACHING

The bishop sent for John Berridge to reprove him for preaching at all hours and on all days. "My Lord, said he modestly, "I preach only at two times." "Which are they, Mr. Berridge?" "In season and out of season, my Lord. "

EVERYTHING BUT GOD'S WORD

An Ohio church called a pastor who qualified on nine points beyond all other candidates, being "selected on a strictly scientific basis." Some of these points included -"Spirituality -- but this doesn't mean belief in the virgin birth, or any of the other dogmas of the old church, such as Jonah and the whale." If candidates professed belief in any such ideas they were marked off on the first point. Other points were Intellectuality, Scholarliness, Adaptability, Poise, Personality, Tolerance and Sympathy, Vision, Appeal to Youth. The minister according to these qualifications, should enjoy the same things a college professor does," have a good "stage appearance," his shoes must always be shined and his suit pressed; he should have a tolerance for all religious sects. The minister chosen "scored ninety-three per cent out of a possible one hundred," outstripping the other candidates by a large majority. It is a relief to turn from this to Paul's word to ministers: "I charge thee... Preach the Word."
-Sunday School Times

a) "Reprove" (elegkson) For lack of truth and holiness.
b) "Rebuke" (epitimeson) "Admonish" those who live in sin.
c) "Exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." (parakales en pase makrothumia kai didache) "Exhort in all (kinds of) longsuffering and teaching," (to repentance in faith), in every possible exhibition of suffering and every possible method of teaching, 1Co_9:20-23.

Many attack the old covenant as though the problem and fault was ON GOD .
FOR FINDING FAULT WITH THEM HE SAID I will give a new covenant whereupon my law shall be WROTE UPON their hearts .
THE FAULT was not on GOD , IT WAS ON THEM .
Not one word that GOD ever said , was wrong , evil , or lacking .
JESUS has come to SHOW US THE WAY .
He showed also WHO IS THE ONLY and RIGHTEOUS JUDGE OF THE LAW
when he made mention to them concerning the adulterous lady .
HE said LET HE WHO WITHOUT SIN cast THE FIRST STONE . THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT SIN IS GOD .
AND GOD WILL JUDGE the wicked . We are not the judge of the law , we do not put to death any
RATHER we DO all to point to CHRIST so as those who do believe may escape the curse of the law , which is death
and have ETERNAL LIFE .
I pray this makes sense . And , AND , ANY LOVE that comes from GOD
wont trangress the law .
It would fullfill the law . FOR NO LOVE does no evil , no wrong . THIS IS HOW you gonna know
the difference between the LOVE that comes from GOD and the love that cometh of the world .
REST assured the love that cometh of the world WILL TRANSGRESS , it will ACCEPT SINS and LIES and call them good .
BUT the LOVE of GOD DOES NO SUCH THING . YE shall KNOW THEM by their fruits .
And the fruit of the wicked is ...........TO SIN . Those hooting and hollering and loving sin are IN DARKNESS .
THERE IS NO FRUIT , NO PROOF of GODLY CONVERSION .
TRUE LOVE FULLFILLS , IT DONT TRANGRESS . THIS IS KEY .

as Paul declares it is a false gospel and another jesus, a false christ as per Galatians 1:6-10.
SPOT ON RIGHT . and that jesus and that gospel , CANNOT SAVE , it only DESTROYS the very soul of man .
We must DIG IN those bibles and learn them well . For many have arisen who no longer heed the voice of the great shepard of the sheep
and instead prophesy lies , deciets and delusions of mans wicked heart unto the peoples .
But the SHEEP HEED THEM NOT .
