I'll answer your question with a question of my own. Do you know what abomination of desolation means? If you know what it means, you will know when, where and how it is being, has been, and will be fulfilled in this era known as the Gospel age as the Kingdom of God is being built through His Church on earth through "great tribulation".

No. It didn't. When Jesus came he preached, "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand." The kingdom of God was "at hand" because the King had arrived. But the "Day of the Lord" is a different matter. The Day of the Lord is a time period when God will vindicate his reputation.

Yes, the Kingdom of God is at hand then and now, because Christ came with His Kingdom. It is near to all who hear His Gospel, and repent and believe. If the Day of the Lord is future only, why does Luke write in the Acts that Pentecost is fulfillment of the Day of the Lord the prophet Joel foretells would come in the last days?

Joel speaks not only of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon His servants, but also of what shall come to pass during this age Joel says is the Day of the Lord coming and being near at hand. We miss the coming day/age/era of Christ when we don't understand His Day came when God came to earth a man. Since the Day of the Lord came at Pentecost in these last days, the New Testament authors make it clear that His Day will have an end, or last day that they too write as the Day of the Lord.

Joel 2:1 (KJV) Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

We've been living in the last days since the first advent of Christ. These last days will come to an end with the final coming of Christ in this time the prophets write as the Day of the Lord. What from the verses below has not been and is not being fulfilled in these last days we have been living in since the day of Pentecost and the Church came with power from above as the Holy Spirit has been liberally poured out upon His sevants?

Hebrews 1:2 (KJV) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

How do you know 42 months equates to 3.5 years? When did all that comes to pass recorded in the verses below begin and end? To definitively state 42 months equates to exactly 3.5 years you have to know exactly when this time begins and ends. And I don't believe you, I or anyone else knows this. Your doctrine is dependent upon guesswork!

Revelation 11:2 (KJV) But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Yes, I'm glad you understand the OT prophesy about Christ began to be fulfilled with the advent of Christ. Again, I agree, His Kingdom is not NOW of this world, and will not be of this world ever!

Daniel tells us that when Christ ascended to heaven after His resurrection, He was given a Kingdom. John tells us the holy city, new Jerusalem is now in heaven. Even though Scripture does not specifically say Christ rules as King from Jerusalem on earth, I believe the prophesy of Christ reigning from Jerusalem was fulfilled when Christ ascended to heaven.

Daniel 7:13-14 (KJV) I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Christ came to save His people, whether Jew or Gentile the whole "Israel of God" shall be saved. There is not one redemption plan for Israel of old, and another for Gentiles. There is only one Covenant of Redemption through Christ to all people, and today (this age) is the day/era to be saved. When Christ returns the mystery of God will be finished and the Kingdom complete, so no more will be saved in this imagined one thousand literal years the Premillennialists imagine.

Your point that 1,000 years cannot come as a thief in the night is nonsense.

The moment of surprise does not define the whole length. It only means that no one will know when it starts.

You cannot apply 2 Peter 3 to the NHNE if you keep this nonsensical approach. 1,000 years is a lot shorter time frame than the NHNE.

Why didn't Peter said we are looking forward to an earthly kingdom instead of the NHNE then? He indicated that the NHNE is in keeping with the fulfillment of the promise of His second coming. That would not be the case if it was not ushered in until 1,000+ years later. I don't find the argument you're trying to use here to get around that to be convincing at all.

Because it was from the perspective on earth and that kingdom. Looking forward means the NHNE did not happen at the point of the thief in the night moment. Nor would it happen until after the Day of the Lord. Those on earth during the Day of the Lord are also looking for the NHNE. Jesus must reign during the Day of the Lord, and then He hands back creation to God. Peter tells you the length of the Day of the Lord. You are ignoring Peter's description.

You were asked to provide Scriptures not to prove the Antichrist's reign lasts 3.5 years but rather, to prove that the *Great Tribulation* lasts 3.5 years. Speaking only for myself I believe the Great Tribulation was defined by Jesus in his Olivet Discourse as being a "Jewish Punishment," lasting from 70 AD, the fall of Jerusalem, until the end of the age, the 2nd Coming of Christ.

If so, the Great Tribulation would be defined in Scripture as lasting *an entire age,* and not a strictly 3.5 years period of time, nor even a 7 years period of time, as many think. Again, I'm with you that the Antichrist's reign lasts 3.5 years. But I can't agree that the *Great Tribulation* lasts only 3. 5 years, because this is what Jesus said about it...

Luke 21.20 “When you see Jerusalem being surrounded by armies, you will know that its desolation is near. 21 Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those in the city get out, and let those in the country not enter the city. 22 For this is the time of punishment in fulfillment of all that has been written. 23 How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people. 24 They will fall by the sword and will be taken as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled on by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled."

Though this appears to be a very unpopular position on this and other forums, nobody at all has been able to successfully dispute what I'm saying here, that the "Great Tribulation," here defined, indicates it lasts for the entire NT age! The objective Dispensationalists have for describing the reign of Antichrist as a "Great Tribulation" appears to be to frighten Christians into believing in a Pretribulational Rapture. If the reign of Antichrist is described as "God's Wrath," then logically, the Church should be immune from that and want to be "raptured out" of the earth even before it begins.
