It started after Christians decided to eliminate most of their Jewish heritage. Probably around 135 A.D. when the Bar Kochba revolt persecuted and killed those in the Christian sect for not participating in the revolt.

The name was clearly in all the OT Hebrew manuscripts and in the still-remaining scraps of the Septuagint from Jesus' time on earth. After the 135 A.D. revolution and the parting of the ways of Christians and Jews, the Christians began using (and copying, of course) the Septuagint. Since they apparently removed the "Hebrew" name of God from the Septuagint, they would surely do the same in the NT Scriptures also.

I've learned today that the early LXX mss still used God's Name, I didn't know that, thank you for bringing this up!

I've done some reading . . . it sounds like the LXX began to be copied with "Kurios" instead of YHWH following the practice of the New Testament writers quoting it that way.

I had thought that the NT writers did that because the LXX did so, but no, they did that as a new practice. And then they followed the same style with the LXX.

Much love!

I have thought about it for many years. Kingdom Hall is a Hallway to Hell fire. I don't believe anything they say or anyone they have "taught".

All this means Jack, is that you just like so many of those people who said they were the True God's servant's, but we're not, who took God's personal name out of the scriptures and replaced it with words like Lord and God, you like them, think you're wisdom is greater than the True God's wisdom and you think you're authority supersedes the True God's authority. God in his wisdom put his name in scripture, and he certainly had the authority to do so. You think I'm ever going to worry about what such arrogant people like that teach, or have to say concerning scripture. Such people as you show that you think it was wrong of the True God to put his personal name in the scriptures. Only those who hate what God did by putting his name in scripture would reason it should be taken out of scripture. I don't expect people who hates the True God's personal name so much that they've taken it out of scripture or who agree it shouldn't be in scripture that they would ever believe what the true servants of the True God are teaching to be true, much less ever think or believe who the true servants of the True God truly are. So I expect you and others like you to say the worst about Jehovah's Witnesses, just as the Jews of Jesus Christ day said the worst about him. Human beings had no right or authority to take the True God's name YHWH out of scripture and replace it with words like LORD or GOD. I understand those like you will think you're wiser than the True God and that your authority is greater than the True God because you think God's name doesn't belong in scripture. You basically saying the True God was wrong for putting his name in the scriptures to begin with.

When you're unable to answer, change the subject (especially with that old gem: personal attack.)

I did answer. You're trying to rewrite our Bible, just like Satan's children always do!

So stop with the insults. JW's disrespect / rewrite our Bible nearly every time they post. How is that not FLAMING and HARASSING Christians? Stop playing the victim like Democrats do, always accusing others of what they do!

IOW, you're a WatchTower puppet.

You and those like you, think you're wiser than the True God YHWH, and you think you have more authority than the True God YHWH, so I really don't care what a arrogant person like you, thinks of me, or about me.

You and those like you, think you're wiser than the True God YHWH,
That's a Satanic LIE!
and you think you have more authority than the True God YHWH,
Another Satanic LIE!

Revelation 21 All liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,

so I really don't care what a arrogant person like you, thinks of me, or about me.
You will care when you stand before God on Judgment Day. Hopefully before you follow Kingdom Hall to Hell fire. There may be hope for you yet.

Matthew 25
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

You certainly will care!

is Kingdom Hall / the WatchTower ever wrong

The rank and file have been adequately warned that the Governing Body's
teachings should not be assumed guaranteed free of errors.

Paragraph 12, under the heading; "Who is leading God's People today?" of
the Feb 2017 Watchtower--Study Edition; says:

"The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in
doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watchtower
Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists
adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did
not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food.
"

Just imagine the degree of confusion and insecurity that would pervade the
minds of Bible-believing Christians had the authors of the New Testament
scriptures attached a disclaimer to their writings similar to the above.

I'll trust human beings who thinks themselves not to be infallible than people who thinks themselves to be infallible. So anyone who says they're not wrong about anything they say about the scriptures, show they do think themselves to be infallible. I'm never going to think I'm infallible, because I'm not, and neither is any other human being on the planet.

Satan LOVES it when his children convince others that there is no "everlasting fire"! He want's your company.

.
In addition to the Society's disclaimer reviewed in post No.32 -- there's a
recommendation for its literature on page 5 of the Jan 01, 1942 issue of the
Watchtower magazine where it's stated:

"Those who are convinced that The Watchtower is publishing the opinion or
expression of a man should not waste time in looking at it at all. Those who
believe that God uses the Watchtower as a means of communicating to his
people, or of calling attention to his prophecies, should study The
Watchtower.
"

In other words: the haulers of water and the hewers of wood-- John Q and
Jane Doe rank and file JW --are not only expected to know what's in The
Watchtower magazine, but they're also required to accept it as God's
providence in spite of the Society's caveat lector that their teachings are
neither inspired nor guaranteed free of error.

Untrue.

I prefer to reference several translations, none of which is JW. Depending on the verse, no one translation appeals to me most.

Because I am not into ancient languages, I rely more than most on the translators expertise. Bottom line: the JW translation is superior than most in the most important way; they don’t jettison the personal name of God, who chose to include his personal name some 7,000 times (hint: it is not ‘Jesus’).

I know you are very passionate about this and truly want your take in any translation you prefer of psalm 110:1?

I agree that Satan loves those who agree with him. So those who believe flesh and blood human beings have living souls or living persons in their flesh and blood human bodies instead of agreeing with scripture that flesh and blood human beings are living souls or living persons will always believe in Satans lies which means they will always be calling the True God YHWH a liar. Those who teach that human beings have living souls or living persons in their flesh and blood human bodies contradicts Genesis 2:7. So humans beings have no living souls or living persons in their flesh and blood human bodies so at death their is nothing that survives that can literally feel anything such as literal fire. The everlasting fire is to be taken symbolically to represent eternal destruction. In other words everlasting fire means that those who are judged by the True God YHWH to deserve everlasting fire will be destroyed out of existence as living souls or living persons, they will never again exist as living souls or living persons.

There are people who will choose to believe lies, that's their choice. Those that say human beings have living souls instead of teaching human beings are living souls are choosing to believe a lie.
