I think that's definitely true for most people. In my case, however, I've had something more like allergies to certain types of food for nearly my whole life. And I don't have sensitivities to most foods that people tend to have as they get older. I don't think I'm special—just weird/defective. I have no trouble with legumes and cruciferous vegetables. I used to have the dairy thing from about the time I was fully grown, but that's not a problem since I became plant-based 32 years ago. (They're beginning to link dairy consumption to prostate cancer now, fellas.)
Funny (now) story: Wifey and I went on our first cruise (Bahamas) 20 years ago. Well, I'm the type that has to get on the Internet and research to the point that I'd had the trip in my head already by the time we set sail. So, one of the discoveries I made was that concentrated ginger capsules were one of the best natural preventives/remedies for mal de mer (seasickness) So I figured I'd play it safe and take double doses (they tell you that it's a good idea to start the regimen about 24 hours before sailing) since I'm a pretty good-sized fellow.
Well, by the time we got to southern Florida, I had already begun to notice that my colon was inflating against my will. Turns out that I'm violently allergic to ginger in therapeutic amounts. I spent almost the entire first 16 hours (and it was only a 4-night cruise) at sea confined to the facilities in our cabin/stateroom. If I were sure there were all nurses present I'd venture into some slightly detailed symptoms (my family is chock full of healthcare workers--they seem to appreciate bodily function humor), butt (oops) suffice it to say that dry heaves in reverse are no fun at all. The pain was so severe I actually succumbed to the temptation of a slight application of "strong drink" to provide analgesic benefit. I found out later that I was allergic to other plants in the rhizome family (turmeric is one of them). I'd always wondered why Chinese food (which I love, and usually contains both ginger and turmeric) always left me feeling so gassy.
Another thing that's kinda funny was that we brought along Dramamine, just in case, and we did have 12-foot seas one evening but, come to find out, neither Wifey nor I were susceptible to seasickness (we loved the motion and sensation of sea travel). However, the folks that were seated across from us at the dining room table came to late-seating dinner looking pretty green so we gave the pills to them. They were very grateful, since the dispensary had run out. The other guests refused to take them and were unable to eat at all. It was kinda funny watching the ship staff sway around in the hallways. Some of them even got sick, poor souls. We had a wonderful time, even during my own misery.

The pictures don't do it justice at all (old, cheap, 35mm portable-travel cam): The sand was the prettiest shade of Peach I ever saw and the ocean was an almost milky-looking Azure—Emerald-Sapphire—AMAZING. I hear this color scheme is even more beautiful in Bermuda—haven't made it there yet. CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE WHAT THE NEW EARTH IS GOING TO LOOK LIKE??!!!
We had a trip to Spain aboard the largest cruise ship in the world (that I got for an absolutely ridiculously low fare--PRAISE THE LORD FOR CHEAP VACATIONS!!) canceled because of COVID. We were so disappointed.
Yeah, I can ramble; probably ought to change my username to some form of "Rambler."

It's morning here. 2 eggs over very easy with buttered sourdough toast, and a few dried pears along with a diet pepsi.
Garlic brown rice with mushroom marsala ....hibiscus tea, and 2 small keto friendly cookies.

Lambano it sounds like you have some serious gastrointesitinal issues .My wife received a box of Sherry's Berries as a belated Mother's Day gift from her son / my stepson. Giant chocolate covered strawberries. Mmm, mmm!
I have to be careful with strawberries, though. They have a powerful laxative effect on me.

It wont be so good in a few hours my friend . That fried greasy food is not good
for our system . Watch out for an attack of inflamation . I dont eat fried anything anymore . No matter how good it tasted .

I have to limit strawberries to two at a time max, and my heart-healthy breakfast cereal leaves me tootin' till after lunch. And yet stuff like sushi and sashimi (raw fish), kimchi (fermented cabbage), calamari (squid), Pho, and anything with curry from an Indian restaurant, that I can eat with impunity. Go figure. My wife says I'm a gastronomical wonder.
Except this kimchi soup I got in a restaurant in Seoul. That burned going in, and burned coming out. The fact that it was a bright red color should've warned me.

I tried looking up "BDTs" in Urban Dictionary, and I didn't see a definition that fits. What I did see there makes me shudder. Ick. Who thinks up that stuff?
My late father-in-law called 'em the "Strawberry Squirts". I looked that up, but that turns out to be a franchise of children's books. I wonder if the author would've chosen a different name if he'd known.

Mine too!
We have an Indian-American community in the city where I work. There are many Indian restaurants and grocery stores.
