yes, God the Father chose before the universe was created whom He would save, and it was not based on anything that person did or didnt do. See, theres this thing called GRACE, where you receive something good that you dont deserve. Every person deserves hell, but God choose to save a few. UNconditional Election. Meaning not of our deeds, but His.

Yes. I know what Calvinism teaches. However, this is NOT what the Scriptures teach.

Grace is the Lord Jesus Christ. Not YOU. You have REPLACED JESUS CHRIST in your theology.

Let me ask you this, did God choose to save you or did you choose to be saved by God? Who is in charge here, you or God?
It was never a matter of who was "in charge". If that were the sole criterion, absolutely everyone would be saved by divine fiat. But there is "a little thing" called the Gospel. Jesus said that those who believe will be saved and those who do not believe will be damned (Mark 16:15,16). Do you believe Christ or do you believe Calvin?

All either of you are doing is blaming God for the meritorious choice. You can't deny merit in the choice of God. God doesn't chose unworthy things.

God's choice was in His Son Jesus Christ alone. Not in any human being.
So then how are we saved. By our choice? That's a works based salvation and not in Scripture.

I'll be glad to answer that question when you admit that God chose Himself in Jesus Christ?

You're trying to wiggle out your mistake. God didn't choose you. God chose Himself in His Son. There is not one single Scripture that names you buddy. Not one. Yet, here you are claiming God chose you.

I'm not going to admit something that is not true. Again, did God choose to save you or did you choose to be saved? Who is in charge you or God?

What was the merit in that? What was the thing about the people he chose that you say makes them better? Nobody is making that argument. It's a strawman argument.

You are denying the meritorious choices of God. What God choices is valuable. You're "back dooring" merit for yourself and denying the same to your fellowman. Those just like you.

Did Jesus Christ MERIT God's favor?

I believe the Bible. The Bible said God chose. He is sovereign, He is in charge. And yes, those who believe will be saved but it ALSO says that those who believe are the ones GRANTED by the Father.

So God didn't chose Jesus Christ?

Do you know what the word "means".... describes?

Joh 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world,

Jesus Christ is God so not sure where you are going there. Now, where is the Scripture for your point here?

You claim God chose you and passed over those just like you. That makes you meritorious in God's choice.

God chooses GOOD THINGS..... Not you. You're not good.

So WHY are people saved. Let's ask that. You are all over the place.

Let the Scriptures declare the answer....

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

You know repeating the same thing over and over doesn't make it any less wrong. Do you care to actually engage with my posts or are you just going to parrot the same nonsense over and over?

That doesn't answer the question. The question is not how, it is why.
