And perhaps most of it is... the truth that is.

I will mention that I do not consume bread from grain or wine from naturally grown grapes at all. I stopped that many years ago.

I consume daily the Word of the God, that is, the flesh [Bread as in the written Bible] quickened [brought to Life] by the Holy Spirit [the white blood]. For some it may raise questions on what people name as the Trinity as well as on what the Bible is or is not and other things I will not go into now.

I am still writing now but I have literally been awake all night. I do have an insomnia problem but now I have been awake continuously since about 4PM yesterday. I suspect it is related a lung biopsy done yesterday which took most of the morning. If you have further questions, I may be unavailable for a while if I should be able to get to sleep. It is 8:16AM now.

Nice talking with you again.
Hi amadeus,

Hopefully the results come back negative. My prayers are with you.

'Eating and drinking' of Him, is simply actively believing what He says.

Hello charity,

Interesting. Let's look then at what He says:

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

...

Then he took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me."

And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you.

...

Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.

For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.

Do you believe what He says?

Pax et Bonum!

Oh dear how arrogant Catholics are to believe they are the only ones God has chosen.
If there are any Catholics that believe that it goes against Church teaching.

I know that Catholics believe mere bread and wine turn miraculously into the actual body and blood of Jesus but what do you make of this passage?

John 16:25
“Though I have been speaking figuratively.

This comes straight after the Passover supper. So I believe it is fair to say that when Jesus told the 12 to drink of his blood and eat of his body it was figurative speech just like when he said he was the gate, or when he said he was the true vine.
Hold on....HOLD ON!!

The Last Supper with the 'bread of life discourse', when Jesus said this IS my body/blood; you must eat/drink to have life in you etc, was in John 6. According to biblical scholars this took place in 29AD

You then fast forward to John 16, which took place in 30AD when Jesus was having a totally different conversation with the Apostles where he said it was figurative speech. You then equate THAT 'figurative speech' into the bread of life discourse in John 6 also? That takes a bit of twisting to do. What man taught you that?

Keeping it real....Mary

there must be a leader
Peter has the jurisdictional authority of the keys and is head on earth

we must be subject to the king thru his ministers
There is a leader. His name was/is Christ. his representative is the HS. who will convict the world and teach us all things.

Bow to Christ, Not men.

Christ is the cornerstone, Not peter. The church is founded and laid on Christ not peter.

Peter is just ONE (of many) of the foundation stones. along with Paul, John, James and the rest of the apostles.

why does it matter if you’re called? You won’t enter the holy church founded by Christ on Peter and the apostles

They are guides. But they are human, They can make mistakes. And many have.

I will ask one last time, When you stand in front of Christ on Judgment day. Who will be held responsible for what you believe?

I believe that for the most part they did not understand what he meant.

And Christ is a God and too stupid to know? Truly truly means nothing? LOL Did we misunderstand that He died for our sins? Was He too stupid to explain it? How far do you want to go with this non-sense?

Protestant doctrine....if it makes no sense it is of God. Christ's words means nothing? Cuz ya know it all maybe a misunderstanding!
People have been doing this for centuries, if Christianity is a religion of non-sense then there is no end to false beliefs and no confidence in the Word of God and no confidence in salvation. People can say anything because Christ was too stupid too explain anything......?

Of all the things Christ explained....this one was detailed, lengthy, and clear....the ramifications well explained and we saw the reaction and then it happened and we know that the early church performed this ritual and Paul warned about not doing it right.

Grab a bible and some pot and dream the dream? Puff puff....We can sin all we want and go to heaven.....puff puff....Heaven was made for evildoers....Puff puff....nothing we do is our fault because we are all robots of God!.....Puff puff....Besides Christ was just a man...who died.....who is He to tell us what to do....Puff puff....No need to worry about what a man says, beside there is no such thing as hell...empty threats....Puff puff....Christ was a UFO pilot and flew all those "J's" back to the biblical era for them to use.

Ya got to have a sense of humor with this stuff. LOL The Bible should have come with a warning......Beware not for numb skulls!

my spiritual fathers have care for my soul!!

remember that when you meet Christ.

If they were wrong. You will not get a "get out of hell free" card.

You will be held responsible for your own belief system.

Once again, eternity is too long. I wish you luck, Because you will need it

Christ commanded the apostles to teach the truths of eternal salvation! They are responsible as Heb 13:17 says

and the bread that I will give is My flesh,
which I will give for the life of the world.'

(Joh 6:51)

Hello @Philip James,

Yes I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Living Bread of which the Manna was the shadow. Detecting consternation in His disciples following these words, the Lord tells them:-

'When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples murmured at it,
He said unto them, "Doth this offend you?"
What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where He was before?
It is the spirit that quickeneth;

the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you,
they are spirit, and they are life.'

(John 6:61-63)

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Hi Chris,

Indeed, His words are Spirit and life, so we should probably believe them, rather than the perceptions of our flesh shouldn't we?

If we believe He is Who He is, then we must trust that He speaks Truth when He says that we must eat His flesh and drink His blood to have life.

It is the true test of Faith, do we accept Him at His word, or do we deny His words and follow the perceptions of our flesh?

St Augustine of Hippo put ot this way:

" For what you see is simply bread and a cup - this is the information your eyes report. But your faith demands far subtler insight: the bread is Christ's body, the cup is Christ's blood"

Augustine Sermon 272 on The Eucharist

Thank you for your prayers, sister. I finally slept for about 4 hours from 10AM today. Not enough certainly, but a beginning which hopefully will improve tonight.

Of course, Jesus could have explained. He had explained previously but people too involved in their own things did not bother themselves, could not be bothered to really pay close attention or to ask for help to understand. God does not twist people's arm to make them receive the Truth.

If by "you", you mean me, Amadeus, to me it is not nonsense. I strive to surrender to God and to follow as He leads me. Yes, I have missed at times the pathway, the highway of holiness before me, but I refuse to quit on God. I do not believe He will quit on me.

Protestant doctrine....if it makes no sense it is of God. Christ's words means nothing? Cuz ya know it all maybe a misunderstanding!

I am truly sorry if that is what you see in me. Only God gives us any real increase in the things that really matter to Him. If we follow Him always first in front of any man, we will never end up in a ditch because we strived to follow Him.
Ya got to have a sense of humor with this stuff. LOL The Bible should have come with a warning......Beware not for numb skulls!
God is the one can always laugh with a righteously knowledgeable laughter. Who among us can do that? Does anyone laugh when he should be weeping?

"Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure." Psalm 2:3-5

"Jesus wept." John 11:35

God really is looking carefully at our hearts rather than our minds and the correctness of our doctrines or theology. We all must believe we are right, or we would change. Those who have been changed in the right direction because they followed the right leader, the Leader, who is not a carnal man, will make it to the end their course if they stay with Him to the very end.

"Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts." Prov. 21:2

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones." Prov. 3:5-8
