This episode is not about whether one is saved or not...all who have faith in Christ will indeed be saved. No, this is about the quality of that salvation, whether for glory and honour or else, for shame and dishonour. Do we even care about the outcome of our own spiritual race? What's it going to take to wake up from the deep sleep that has befallen the modern Church?

The Quality of Salvation: Glory or Dishonor?

Salvation, while a gift of grace, comes with responsibilities and an invitation to live a life worthy of the calling. The Bible warns believers about complacency in their spiritual race, urging them to pursue a faith that brings glory and honor to God, not one that results in shame or dishonor.

Biblical Reference: 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified."
Paul emphasizes the importance of running the spiritual race with purpose, discipline, and vigilance. It’s not merely about starting the race but finishing it well, with honor, by living in alignment with God's will. A lackadaisical or half-hearted approach could lead to shame when one faces God (1 John 2:28).

Complacency in the Modern Church

The "deep sleep" you reference reflects a state of spiritual lethargy or indifference, a recurring theme in Scripture as a warning to believers.

Biblical Reference: Revelation 3:1-3 (The Church in Sardis)

"I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent."
Here, the Church in Sardis is rebuked for appearing vibrant externally but being spiritually dead internally. This mirrors the modern Church when we prioritize appearances, tradition, or comfort over genuine, vibrant faith. The call to "wake up" is a reminder to rekindle passion for God, prioritize holiness, and live out faith authentically.

Do We Care About the Outcome of Our Race?

This question challenges us to reflect on the intentionality and sincerity of our spiritual walk. Are we living for eternal rewards or settling for temporary comforts? The Bible reminds us that the outcome of our race depends on our dedication, vigilance, and relationship with Christ.

Biblical Reference: Philippians 3:13-14

"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
Paul's words show a mindset of urgency, focus, and perseverance. The "prize" is not just salvation but living a life that glorifies God, brings others to faith, and culminates in hearing, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23).

What Will It Take to Wake Up?

The modern Church needs a spiritual awakening driven by:
  1. Repentance: Acknowledging areas of complacency, sin, or misplaced priorities and turning back to God wholeheartedly.
  2. Renewed Passion for God: Rediscovering the joy and purpose of living in relationship with Him, fueled by the Holy Spirit.
  3. Authentic Discipleship: Moving beyond superficial faith to a deeper, transformational walk with Christ, marked by obedience, sacrifice, and love.
  4. Accountability: Holding ourselves and each other accountable to Scripture and the mission of Christ.

Biblical Reference: Romans 13:11-12

"Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light."
The urgency of these verses reminds us that time is short, and the stakes are high. The Church must "wake up" and engage in the mission of Christ with seriousness and dedication.

MY Conclusion

The question of whether salvation results in glory and honor or shame and dishonor depends on how seriously we take our spiritual race. Do we strive for holiness, obedience, and faithfulness, or are we asleep, letting distractions and complacency rob us of the richness of our walk with God?
The modern Church must rediscover its purpose, shake off apathy, and run the race with endurance, aiming to glorify God in all things. The time to "wake up" is now. Not last week.
Interesting and thought provoking topic.

i was wondering if you have noticed the same thing i have noticed .
In these last years , rather than reminding the church of the dire need to BELIEVE JESUS is the CHRIST
and that we ought to be reminding all lost souls about the dire NEED to BELEIVE JESUS is the CHRIST
, that rather many are preaching all sorts of concepts and trying to implant ideas
about how others are saved WITHOUT BELIEVEING ON JESUS THE CHRIST . cause i sure seem to notice
a massive UPTICK on that lie .
Always the devil knows how to make something sound so darn loving and so good for humanity
BUT ALWAYS HE DOES LIE . HE makes the path to GOD very broad indeed . And makes what he calls
the love of GOD sure seem to OMIT THE FACT ONE MUST BELIEVE JESUS IS THE CHRIST .
And Taken , THAT AINT LOVE baby . That is but death that is made to sound loving and good .
Satan is a real sneak my friend and man he is wise in wisdom and able to deceive .
BUT JESUS HAS HIS SHEEP and a lie they will not heed or teach . They warn against a lie .

I noticed and “STOPPED” going to man-made churches a very long time ago…

I am a member of and with my Lord God IN His Church 24-7…

I do not have connections or watch TV, thus do not channel surf and catch the TV preachers, but do occasionally see a video clip here and there…. Oh whoop, whoop they “amen” the straying focus from Gods intent “to entertainment” and “to feel so good about themselves…!” Gag.

A house dedicated to God…IS…??

* For prayer to men, to statues, to idols, to angels, to the cosmos?
* For entertainment?
* For buying and selling?
* For a fashion show?
* For sleeping?
* For playing and listening to games?
* For gossiping?
* Hollering and running around?
(Sadly what millions of “church goers” routinely do.)

Matt 6:
[6] But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Luke 19:
[46] Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves.

I am on the cusp of this myself, as pastor and retired by choice.
And saw a small community Church turn into a profit machine for the rich.
I had seen this all my life, I am 62 now. But I live in a small town and never thought this large megachurch evils
would invade our small town. And when I was in this small community church before its fall to greed,
People would show up, from the streets, the Homeless. The shunned. In sweat pants and teeshirts.
I could feel God there in Genuine form. For the next 15 years I would watch this change, and then realized this change is not unique.
Its inevitable.

"Work out your own salvation"

the term work out means to take what you have, or take what is given to you. and to work it out

what we are supposed to work out. or to do. is what we have received when we were saved.

please notice. It does not say work to earn your salvation. Or work to gain your salvation.

The person is already saved. Pauls warning is that he is a light in a dark world. and do not do anything that would cause your light to go out. so that you can not be that light to the world.

what is not in context is people earning or losing salvation

How is it that... one becomes poor in spirit;
that one mourns;
that one becomes meek;
that one hungers and thirsts after righteousness;
that one becomes merciful;
that one becomes pure in heart;
that one becomes a peacemaker;
that one retains the saltiness given to him;
that one becomes the light of the world...?

Mt 6:33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

As always your contribution is needed. ‘But seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’

Seek you first the Kingdom of God. Reminds me of where Jesus gave a parable of when a master comes in and tells his servants to make ready his meal first, then they can eat. In the carnal that is usually slaves tending a man who is their master. but I still struggle with what Jesus said there, because is it the same when He says to seek the Kingdom of God first, His Righteousness and then…these things shall be added unto you. It begins with precious promise are given, are the promises we have (literal) food to eat, and (literal) clothing to put on…where if we have food and clothing be content?

But is it? these things are added unto you, His righteousness…2 Peter 1:4-9 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. [5] And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. [8] For if these things be in you, and abound, they (theses things, His Righteousness) make you that you shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. [9] But he that lacks these things is blind, …

"seek first God, and his HIS = Righteousness".

Where is that found.....if "all have sinned, and none are righteous.. no not one"?

It’s found as "The GIFT of Righteousness", and that comes from God, only if the person has put their Faith in Christ.
Yes as “The Gift of Righteousness” agree “that comes from God” for example where “these things are added unto you” …interesting all these things added are the Righteousness of Christ, The Fruit of God : the New Man. add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; [6] And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; [7] And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
Seek first the kingdom of God, and My Rightness and all these things will be added …clothing to put on, and food (bread) to eat, and (Living) water (I, Christ will give unto you) for your thirst.

Interesting it all leads to add to godliness, brotherly kindness, add to brotherly kindness, charity. Paul (Christ in him) repeats the same of even He who possessed all things became poor so that we could become rich. He who has all strength to move mountains, became weak so that we could be made strong. If any lacks these things, they are blind. Yet Christ gives to those who lack and opens the eyes of the blind, as Paul also walking as Christ walked …used His gift to support and raise up those who lack. That is seldom the message on this board. It usually I have and you lack…in return the same thing Cain said concerning his brother “am I my brothers keeper?” There is no doubt Christ was speaking also in Paul when he was willing to be weak for those who lacked and were weak. We don’t see that today but it’s every one after their own, even using those who lack to prove their elevation as being those made strong. Where is “we will be weak, that you be made strong”?

"Be not given unto change..."

This phrase echoes the Biblical principle of steadfastness in faith and doctrine. Scripture warns against being swayed by every new teaching or cultural trend: However it is very clear that the majority of Churches today are losing site.

I think Tithing is among the most abused by most modern churches who tell you. The old testament that most does not still apply to the New Testament, because we are saved.
While Jesus acknowledges tithing, He emphasizes that it is secondary to living out faith and justice. This indicates that outward acts like tithing are meaningless without a heart aligned with God's will. I doubt very much todays churches head this. If it was so, we would have no homeless or those going without food.

  • Malachi 3:6: "For I am the Lord, I do not change."
  • Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
  • Ephesians 4:14: "That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine."
The charge is clear: remain unshaken in the truth of God, no matter how the world changes around us. Many are overtaken by compromise and falsehood, but the true sheep of Christ are called to stay faithful to the eternal, unchanging Word of God.
Christ Followers do not need the Christian Church to be saved. This is a long abused assumption. MHO.

I found this on another thread and just wanted to remind us all today , That true love would have corrected her .
She knows this too . She knows she was lied too when she should have been loved and helped through this delusion .
I don't see that your post has anything to do with my apology to Taken. Please do not use my post to promulgate your view.
But as for the video, it's sad, but true and an honest expose of transgenderism.

As always your contribution is needed. ‘But seek you first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.’
The seeking is what we are always to do first. When do we stop seeking these things? Perhaps when we are really just like Him...

1jo 3:2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
How is our vision of Him? Have we moved beyond "through a glass darkly" toward "face to face?
Seek you first the Kingdom of God. Reminds me of where Jesus gave a parable of when a master comes in and tells his servants to make ready his meal first, then they can eat. In the carnal that is usually slaves tending a man who is their master. but I still struggle with what Jesus said there, because is it the same when He says to seek the Kingdom of God first, His Righteousness and then…these things shall be added unto you. It begins with precious promise are given, are the promises we have (literal) food to eat, and (literal) clothing to put on…where if we have food and clothing be content?
At each moment in our walk do we not want to be content as Paul was inspired to write here?

Php 4:11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Content then with our carnal desires? What do we need as opposed to what do we want? Do we want only what we need? Is it not God who will define for us what we need [and want if for us our needs and our wants are equal] if we are paying attention and continuing to seek of Him?

1jo 5:14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1jo 5:15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Are we asking for only what God knows that we need? Do we know now what we need or are we still including carnal wants in our requests or what we are seeking?

But is it? these things are added unto you, His righteousness…2 Peter 1:4-9 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Are we still blind in part or do we see as clearly as God sees? What are we lacking? What are we asking for? What are we seeking?
...

Yet Christ gives to those who lack and opens the eyes of the blind, as Paul also walking as Christ walked …used His gift to support and raise up those who lack.
Again, how blind are we still? Do we need yet another touch from the Master?

Mr 8:23And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
Mr 8:24And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
Mr 8:25After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.

One difference between Jesus and other men was that Jesus was not selfish. Other men, all of us, have been and
perhaps continue to be selfish.

Php 2:3Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Php 2:4Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

It had nothing to do with you or your apology to taken .
And yes that video sure exposed the delusion and lie of transgenderism .
Why i just had the most marvelous thought as i typed that .
Many now follow a transpiritualsim idea . an idea that somehow a lie cometh of GOD
and this lie is love and its so good for humanity . they trying to rip the white robes
FROM JESUS HAND and give them to satan and his interfaith . AS THOUGH that gonna happen .
Satan is king of trans baby . HE knows how to claok himself as though he be GOD , WHEN HE AINT
and That which is of anti christ sure knows how to cloak itself as though it be of CHRIST .
So allow some parting words . ENTER NOT into interfaith for all who do enter into interfatith , enter not into THE FAITH of GOD
but rather the faith that somehow self can get the job done . Enjoy that .

"Work" out your own salvation is simply better understood as: Walk out your own salvation.

Paul, faced with the knowledge given to him about the coming Church age, only eluded to what I just said above--because there was yet to come many generations of a similar blindness upon Christians as was placed upon Israel--for the same reason of prolonging all truth until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled. He simply was not allowed to say, but restrained from saying something more detailed and accurate, like:

"Look, all of humanity was condemned for a past sin now continuing in all of our lives--and each one of us is going to WALK through this valley and live out our choice of who and where we stand with God--not for what we now do, but for what we did just as it is written of Christ: 'before the world was.' So this is everyone manifesting according to what 'was', or hopefully making a change--a change that also 'was' 'before the world was.' This is our "freewill" made manifest. So go--go walk out your choice of life or death--make it manifest. For that is what has been set before us all."

My ministry toward the church is a spiritual one of casting down imaginations and things that exalt themselves AGAINST the actual knowledge of God. Religious certainty is a faith destroyer. Religious hubris is just pride that God resists and will reject on judgment day.
Maybe this is the best way to understand you . . . When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail. I think that's the most optimistic way.

Much love!

Edit to add . . . but then there is your constant behavior of insults and arguments, so maybe that is too optimistic. Something for you to think about. It's really like that's what you want, to argue and insult, but I'd like to think you just can't help yourself.

Notice in Philippians 2:12 that Paul said to "work out" your salvation and NOT "work for" your salvation. When we "work out" at the gym, we exercise to develop our body that we already have and not to get a body. Farmers "work out" the land, not in order to get the land, but to develop the land they already have. The Greek verb rendered "work out" means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing the process of ongoing sanctification, which is the result of being set apart for God's work and involves the process of being conformed to the image of Christ.
And of course "ergon" is the work God does in us, the original work, conforming our will and deeds to His intent.

What He works into us, we are on the hook to work out in our lives.

Much love!

The SPIRIT within the true lambs whose faith be in CHRIST sure does work in us that which , IS PLEASING TO GOD .
but beware the flesh for it is contrary to the SPIRIT and the SPIRIT contrary to the flesh .
If any works a work and that work IS SIN , accepts sin , justifies sin and in any way promotes a lie
THEN IT AINT OF GOD , IT AINT OF THE SPIRIT , it is of the flesh and well by the flesh is how men have their conversation
with the dark one . IF GOD is at work IN US , then mark , MARK MY WORDS
HE WONT be working a lie in us , he wont be trying to convince us other religoins are okay as they are
and that our truth is no better than theirs . HE WONT be honoring A LIE or ANY SIN . many follow the flesh
but believe they follow the SPIRIT . a lamb can DISCERN , but a goat cannot discern .
GOD wont tell us , OH dont correct you brother , dont judge , just leave him be and hug on him .
GOD said this . YE shall NOT HATE your neighbor in your heart , you shall in ANY way REBUKE HIM and not allow sin upon him .
SO intefaith is of satan . keep that in mind .
