Romans 6:6-23

King James Version

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life
.
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Are you saying that the Holy Spirit of God (Jesus) leaves a born again Christian during the many times they fall into sin?
Surely you must know that there is not any one of us who will ever be sin-free, while living in our adamic mortal bodies.

No, brother. I am saying the Holy Spirit does not leave a believer that has fallen into sin. The Holy Spirit convicts a believer of that condition so that he will repent. The Holy Spirit's expectation is that we repent and come back into communion with God.

The Holy Spirit does not leave the believer, brother @Ronald Nolette, that is correct, but a believer can ignore the Holy Spirit's prompting in conviction and repentance, and everything that believer does is recorded for the day of judgment. That is also correct; a demon cannot possess a believer, but an area of that believer's life can have a demon. Possession is a full takeover of that person's life, and this cannot be done because of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Fellowship is a relationship; a brother and a believer can be outside God's will ( outside the covenant relationship with God) if he does not confess and repent. Example: A letter from Paul to his church @Corinth -
Please think your statement through.

A believer is fully possessed by the Holy Spirit! there is no nook or cranny where the Holy spirit does not abide! sin weakerns us and can lead to oppression, but not possession in any area.

And no our sins are not stored for the day of Judgment. Jesus died and paid for all our sins, and when we trusted Jesus and His death and REsurrection, Our sin debt was completely paid for- there is no more sin to be stored- even the ones we have yet to commit.

Brother, you have clearly had no teaching on the temporary tabernacle in the wilderness where the Ark of the Covenant was housed, nor the more permanent temples later on. These are symbols of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us. The temple of the Lord. There are 3 places that make up the tabernacle: the temple and us as temples of the Holy Spirit. The outer court, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies. The Holy Spirit dwells within the Holy of Holies. If we were completely possessed by the Holy Spirit, we would be sinless.

Amen!.....we have been Born Of The Spirit, he completely indwells our spirit,Spirit gives birth to spirit..... plus scripture verses, don’t testify with our spirit that we are Gods children...only the Living Spirit who is Gods Living Witness can do that.

What teaching has got anything to do with being Born Again, is certainly beyond my comprehension..

A lot of confusion I can read...

I guess some don’t understand the testimony of the Spirit...or haven’t had the Spirit testifying with their spirit that they are Gods children....that’s the way I became Born Again..

Spirit gives birth to spirit.....again some may not understand what that means either.

Obviously God makes himself known to everyone differently.....it seems....talks to one ,one way, talks to another, another way...

To that I agree. However, all should clearly understand Luke 11:21-22.
Every time the Lord Jesus takes up PERMANENT residence within a repentant believer, Satan has lost one of his "goods". "To the Victor go the spoils".
[21] When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace:
[22] But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.
Therefore, my point was, Satan can NEVER re-enter a born again Christian, because Jesus who is the stronger permanently lives there.

The enemy can enter the mind of a believer....he can’t enter their heart..imo.
Are you saying that the mind of satan is stronger than the mind of Jesus who dwells within us?
1 Cor. 2
[16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Cor. 2
No, I’m not saying that...I’ve explained below .
[16] For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
When you were a new babe/ first Born Of The Spirit ...was your mind strong in Christ?

You had a strong mind in Christ did you?

Mine wasn’t and I had a breakdown..long story.

My mind now is very strong in Christ after walking in faith for the last 33 years... and the enemy knows that I recognise his tactics pretty quickly these days, so he pretty much leaves me alone..
In other words if he does try to enter my mind, I rebuke him in the name of Jesus.
I have grown in my mind, it’s called the renewing of our minds...

Yes, we have the mind of Christ, as we walk in faith..we are on a spiritual journey, which takes years to understand....it’s the Living Spirit who is my teacher/ helper..the Bible confirms this.

Ephesians 4:23-32KJV. and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

“Putting on the mind of Christ” is a direct reference to St. Paul's powerful injunction in Philippians 2:5: “Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.” The words call us up short as to what we are actually supposed to be doing on this path: not just admiring Jesus, but acquiring his consciousness.

1 John 5[18] We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

It is most likely the case that many born again Christians do not understand the difference of how one is MADE TO BE sin-LESS, but shall never be sin-FREE.

Yes demons implant thoughts in our mind. but they cannot enter a believer because they are sealed by the Holy spirit.
...after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession (Eph. 1:13-14). You must overcome, you must walk righteously, to obtain the final payoff. Sanctification is the name of the game.

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing...O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. (Rom. 7:18, 24-25).

1) Scripturally, one's "mind" is not the mere organ (e.g. the brain).
2) The believer's flesh still has the sin-nature.

The devil may succeed in getting us to sin or even become oppressed by sin, but not possessed by a demon.
You've again been distracted by the hackneyed "oppression-obsession" red herring.

If we were completely possessed by the Holy Spirit, we would be sinless.
Indeed, as ...God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5).

, because Jesus who is the stronger permanently lives there.
"permanently lives" where? In the palm of your hand? Just under your fingernail? Hovering above your scalp? Exactly where is it that "Jesus... permanently lives"? You're arguing for only a physical location, rather than understanding that both the physical and the spiritual are located within the selfsame temple.

Whe we become Born Again we are reconciled back to God, even though we live in our “ OLD”:body of sin our old body is dead because of sin......one day we we will have our glorified bodies..., God sees our sin no more, we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ and are partakers Of the divine nature.

Do you understand what it means to be Born Of The Spirit, by Gods Living testimony, when Spirit gives birth to spirit?

My spirit knows that all of my sin has been forgiven ..a Born can’t go on sinning because they have been Born Of God’s seed, do you know that the seed of God is a Living seed and that Living seed indwells/ resides in our spirit, because it’s been birthed into the Spirit of Christ.

A Born Again is being conformed into Jesus image, they will bear the fruit of the Spirit..the Living Spirit starts his work in them, the moment that God recognises them as his children when = Spirit gives birth to spirit...

Flesh gives birth to flesh = human birth.

Spirit gives birth to spirit = supernatural Living birth...” mind Blowing “ .

The natural man has no understanding of the Living testimony of God...even a new babe in Christ wouldn’t understand, that I was at one time...I wouldn’t of had a clue what I was talking about above....the Spirit grows our understanding in Christ, 33 years on and still I have much to learn of spiritual matters..

We see what Christ said:
Mark 16:17
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Matthew 12:28
But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

And it was being done:

Mark 9:38
And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

So why do we not see it today, is it because of unbelief and lack of prayer and fasting, or are we so deep in sin and in darkness, we are not given this?
All the gifts of the spirit are still in operation today. But the kingdom of Satan has gotten clever and developed a work around, when we cast a demon out it is immediately replace with another giving the impression that nothing is happening. How you counter this is to bind the leadership which will bring the infestation to a stop.

That was not the church he was sending out.

When He sent out his disciples in that way, they were yet Jews.
They did not have the indwelling Spirit.
There was no baptism by the Holy Spirit yet to be given.
There was no message about the Cross to be told.

So, for Jews who require a sign? (1 Corinthians 1:22)
He sent them out with overt signs to see, to the Jews.

Much more important truths are happening now.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18
What can not be seen is eternal!
Grace and peace!

I never attempted to say otherwise. I was just making the point that the gift of God's Holy Spirit fills every repentant believer who invites Jesus into their life. John 3:3-8; Rev. 3:20.

Not Satan brother, demons (his henchmen). A believer can have a demon but cannot be possessed by a demon. Please read my blog at some point if you are interested.

Yes, a born again Christian can be oppressed by a demon (fallen angel), but they can never be possessed by a demon.

Eve was not demon possessed.
She was 'demon influenced.'

Believers who stray from sound doctrinal teachings can easily be demon influenced.
But, never demon possessed.

All false doctrine finds its roots in demon influence.
