He brought the firstlings of his flock. He also brought the fat there of. The "there of" is talking about the flock. It's talking about what he brought, not how he offered it.

I've tried to leave this alone, but I can't. The Bible doesn't say God killed an animal for their hide. It's says God made coats of skin. That's it. It doesn't says any animals were harmed and it doesn't even say they were animals skins.

If they were animal skins, if God made the animals, he certainly can make their skin without the rest of the animal.

Whether or not it was actually animal skins requires a deeper explanation. But I will leave it there for now.

For myself..by 'type' I can't see blood being shed in Eden The Garden Of God.

So I too, doubt if it was animal skins. I believe before Adam sinned he was light, (somewhat life the resurrected body of Jesus) glorified flesh. I believe that when he fell " His eyes were opened "( to THIS realm) and closed to the true depth of the spiritual realm. "and he knew that he was naked", = he had lost the spiritual covering of light..hence God gave him human skin as we have now. We know when we die we shall shed these like coats ... it will be a taking off, even as Adam's was a putting on.

Im sure you will disagree, it is a too far reach for most people who were traditionally told they were animal skins, even though it does not say that, as you pointed out. :)

I notice animal sacrifices were the norm with believers long before Moses. Job and his friends. Abraham, so I wonder if they didn't see something in Abel's sacrifice which he might have gleaned from his parents when God killed an animal to cover their nakedness?

My guess is that the animals had already started dying--possibly even massive die-offs. God could simply have taken the skins of already dead animals to clothe Adam and Eve.
