this shows me you can vomit a lot of verses out, but don't have a clue as to meaning! Covering and forgiving are two totally different things!

The confessing of sins to a "father", which can be forgiven by repeating rote "prayers".
Jn 20:23 23 Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithfuland just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
penance = prayer, fasting, and alms
Well I won't play that word game with you. but God wrote thoughts in order and in a context! And when you pull a verse out of its context and apply it to another context- That is called twisting the scriptures to your own destruction. I don't call that heterodox- I call that apostasydox
this shows me you can vomit a lot of verses out, but don't have a clue as to meaning! Covering and forgiving are two totally different things!
only the church founded by christ can give the meaning!
we must be taught
Lk 1:4 acts 8:31
No god gave meaning to the words. god is the author of grammar- not the church! Paul told the Bereans not to trust Him but look at the Scriptures and he was teh Pope of the Gentiles!
teh church has authority from teh Word only. If it veers from that word, it has no authority where it veers and must be resisted- no matter what sect.
And remember treh church is not a denomination, but a collection of individuals scatterd in all denominations who have already been forgiven and saved!

Not only does the Bible not mention anything about Jesus entering Jerusalem on Sunday, John wrote that this event took place 5 days before the Passover:Palm Sunday has no Pagan origin. But todays easter celebrations are loaded with pagan symbology.
Easter eggs, Rabbits, the name Easter itself (form Ashtarth) Easter bonnets. But once again these in and of themselves are not evil or wrong- unless one places the values the pagans did in these customs.
"Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was who had been dead,[fn] whom He had raised from the dead...the next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out:"- Jhn 12:1, 12-13
Not only does the Bible not mention anything about Jesus entering Jerusalem on Sunday, John wrote that this event took place 5 days before the Passover:
And since the Passover that year took place on a Tuesday evening(biblical Wednesday period), it is obvious to anybody that can count that Jesus didn't enter Jerusalem on a Sunday. Literally all of festivals Orthodox Christianity celebrate are centered around sun worship, and the Palm Sunday tradition is no different.
Thru the holy church that teaches the truthWhat was the answer to that last question?
How does a man recognize the Spirit of Truth?
Thru the holy church that teaches the truth
And that truth was given to the apostles who recorded it into the New Testament! Any supposed "truth" after the Inspired New Testament must be scrutinized by the New Testament and if it contradicts the New Testament, it must be rejected as error at all costs!
All of the Christian truths were revealed by Christ to his church of the apostles! Jude 1:3
@theefaith If you pray and earnestly study, you will be given truth. That is why it is critical to read your Bible.
Jer 29:13 "And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
