Yes, I came across that verse while refreshing my memory through quick searches (I'll be 66 in a few more weeks and the ol' gray matter, she ain't what she used to be.)I think this happened again after the flood
Gen 6:4
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
I think God had to take drastic action to make it stop happening
Jde 1:6
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jde 1:7

But, the only etymology I found for the word "Nephilim " in a quick search comes from the Hebrew word for "fallen one" (though it's origins could be more ancient than scripture itself.)
