I think this happened again after the flood
Gen 6:4

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

I think God had to take drastic action to make it stop happening
Jde 1:6

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jde 1:7

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Yes, I came across that verse while refreshing my memory through quick searches (I'll be 66 in a few more weeks and the ol' gray matter, she ain't what she used to be.)
But, the only etymology I found for the word "Nephilim " in a quick search comes from the Hebrew word for "fallen one" (though it's origins could be more ancient than scripture itself.)

Who are the sons of God and the daughters of men
I am a Son of God and my female children are daughters of men
No, you're a child of God.

The sons of God are the angels.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

Btw, because of what was said in a different thread, of course I'm female. All one has to do is click on my profile picture and see that listed on my details page.

Apparently so do you. Jesus was, is, and will be. He's the alpha and the omega, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Describing Him in the past tense is commonly an error of speech given that we can only perceive the moment that we're in, but if you think about what you write, referring to God in the past tense indicates that you don't really believe that He is. So, I'll ask you plainly, is Jesus God?
Are you serious?

Are you? I apologize for being entirely ignorant of anything you've written in the forums, but I know of only 1 biblical test to discern the born again from seekers and imposters:

"Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12:3

Of course this test is dependent upon your definition of Lord, but as far as I know, true Christianity holds to One Lord, not 2 or 3.
I test those I don't know who make assertions that the scripture means something other than what it plainly says, because I have no vested interest in teaching carnal minded souls or cultists, spiritual truth (as I understand it.)
The Apostles became so concerned about heresy based upon their words that their communications became guarded, and Paul made sure his signature was known to his correspondents.

The cosmic battle rages on Earth between two sides symbolised and described in various ways.
Jesus and Satan
Sons of God and Sons/Daugthers of men
Pure woman and a Harlot
Sea and Land
Life and Death
Good Shepherd and a Thief
The Wilderness and a Garden
Babylon and Jerusalem
....etc etc

Missing this understanding and or interpreting by joining the dots in ways which eclipse this fundamental view has one thrashing around in pointless debates.....debates seen regularly on CB.

No where in Scripture are the angels referred to as Sons of God. Angels are referred to as stars. Humans are the Sons of God.

The Sons of God were giants compared to Adam's dead corruptible flesh.

Technically, there's only 1 race that describes humanity, the human race. Race is an artificial distinction used to divide humanity into superior and inferior groupings. If you believe that Noah's descendants repopulated a world where all flesh was destroyed, and that reproduction is by "kind" then humanity is one "kind" not multiple kinds and of one race, not many races. We classify "races" by common phenotypic traits, but those same traits as expressed, are actually observed among multiple "races" but in different proportions. Eg. The aboriginal Australians have dark skin pigmentation, some Indian tribes do as well, but neither are the same "race" as native Africans. Almond shaped eyes are common among Asians, but not unique to Asians, nor the rule for Asians (some Asians appear indistinguishable from Caucasians.) We (humanity) have used "racial" distinctions to justify treating other "races" as less than our own, or subhuman.

Okay thanks so how about what Wrote?

Sorry, I don't know what you're asking, but I seem to have that effect on people. No worries, God will keep His word regardless of whether we understand it or not.

This was what I wrote

The Lord and angles are different from people and their accounts recorded in the bible were for a certain purpose.

Lets see what the bible says about these people.

Genesis 6:3-4
3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

All that is says is that they were mortal. It doesn't say that they were a different race as we even still have giant people in our world today from all different races.

The other thing to see in these verses is that the Nephillim were on the earth before and after when the sons of God had children with the daughters of humans. Thus they were not the offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of humans the bible shows us that.

The Hebrew word is han·nə·p̄i·lîm. It is not a proper noun. It is transliterated "the nephilim", but it is not a proper noun. It means the giants. It should not be capitalized as a separate race of beings. Giants may be taller than normal people, but they are not separate from them. Hebrew is not a fairy tale language. Would you say, the Giants when talking about normal people? The sons of God were the giants of that time. They introduced giant offspring into the descendants of Adam. The sons of God had permanent incorruptible physical bodies. Adam's offspring had temporal corruptible physical bodies that would decay and die. Obviously Adam's dead corruptible flesh was what we are used to, but the sons of God had larger superior bodies. Probably not as fun and mysterious as most people make it out to be. Now the claim is that the noun comes from a verb nephal.

The sons of God were already the giants. There were no other beings before the sons of God. It just means the sons of God were always giants. The big question is which came first the noun or verb? Is it that hard to say the sons of God fell into wickedness and thus the nickname, that means to fall? The sons of Anak were more the bully and tyrant forms of the word.

Again you assume a lot but how could they have permanent incorruptible physical bodies yet the bible says that everyone but Noah and the world was full of evil?

Do you know what happens to good apples when you put a rotten apple in with them?

Do you know what happens when you mix incorruptible flesh with dead flesh? They did not remove Adam's corruptible flesh from the gene pool. All they got was more corruptible every generation after the first one. Those sons of God created on the 6th Day were the giants of old. But now in Genesis 6, we are many generations removed from the original generation. It was later generations that procreated with at least 6 or 7 generations after Adam. Adam had Seth at least 100 years after being kicked out of Eden. Seth had a son after 105 years. Certainly the sons of God had more generations in 200 years than just 2 from Adam. Even Noah was 500 years old before he had sons and built the ark. That is a lot of time to have a lot of corruptible generations becoming more sinful than the prior one.

That is logical and practical. Certainly not as far fetched as Cain having sisters and brothers older than he, who were already living outside of the Garden. Cain was still a son of God, because he looked no different than they did. God had to place a mark on Cain to tell him apart. Certainly Adam and Eve in sinful flesh were markedly different. It was generations later that the sons of God even started paying attention to Adam's offspring.

Obviously many sons of God left earth prior to this mess. They still held council over the earth in Job's day. Unless Job lived before the Flood? The church does not stay on earth even today, but is gathered in heaven, Paradise to sit in heavenly places. Having a permanent incorruptible physical body, does not mean God cannot remove life from that body. It means death is not natural.

I have to think those who claim those Nephilim were simply bulies or tyrants failed basic English reading comprehension.

Gen 6:1-4
6 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

4 There were giants (Nephilim) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

KJV

That event is also recorded in the Book of Jude, and by Apostle Peter...

Jude 6-7
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
KJV

2 Peter 2:4-5
4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
KJV

(It's sad that I am forced to directly show the KJV Scripture on that event of those fallen angels mating with the flesh daughters of men to produce a hybrid giant race, because of those who want to try and change... what that Scripture says in the manuscripts.)

Even in the Genesis 6:9 verse about Noah, it shows that Noah was "perfect in his generations", which that word 'perfect' in the Hebrew means 'without blemish' physically of the flesh, the same word used for the required sacrificial flesh purity of animals sacrificed per the old covenant. That reveals that Noah had not MIXED with those Nephilim. So it's IMPOSSIBLE the matter was simply about a bully or tyrant.

interesting statement you’ve made here, I have a question since you seem to have all absolute truth, in Jeremiah 7:22 God speaking through the prophet states he never commanded burnt offerings and sacrifice.. Who or what gave Moses these commands?

If you keep mocking, don't expect our Heavenly Father to show you anything in His Word, for you are not mocking me, but His Word. His Word is absolute Truth, not me. All you need do is follow His Word. And that's all I am doing.

You don't really 'believe' The Bible as written, do you? You're more interested in following the modern textual critics who want to 'change' what God's Word says, aren't you? If not, then why would you NOT be able to understand the simplicity of the below Scripture you quote, because it is obvious that you have read some baloney from a Leftist liberal textual critic, because they are the ones pushing the idea you mention...

Jer 7:21-26
21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.

22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:

The Time when God is speaking of?: when God first led the children of Israel out of Egypt. At that time, God had not given the law and sacrifices yet. How could you MISS that point in that very Scripture?

23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be My people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:

26 Yet they hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
KJV
