It was to declare the good news of the Kingdom of God. What points found in Jesus' message do you particularly enjoy?

Did Jesus testify only with his mouth? Should we?

Consider also the words spoken here:

"Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." John 4:34

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." John 19:30

But then consider this...

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Heb 12:2

Did Jesus actually finish the work in each of us on the cross... or did he open the Way so that we would be able to do it?

I am not really sure what you are asking Amad, but I know you realize that we do not have to die so that others can be redeemed. So that one sacrifice took care of that. We however do have an assignment, the same main reason Jesus was sent, to declare the good news of the Kingdom of God until it reaches the ends of the earth Mat 28:19,20; 24:14. And even in that the assignment was given to his born again followers, those of the covenant. Most of us are judged on what we do to support Jesus' brothers in their assignment. Mat 25:40

Yes we primarily make testimony with our mouths, however our conduct plays a big part as well sir. Jesus said his disciples would be known by their fruits; their teachings, and their conduct identify them.

Jesus' MAIN WORK was to die on the cross in order to defeat death and the devil, which is an idea that is actually written in Hebrews 2:14 and 1 John 3:8.

Jesus came to bear witness of the truth. The truth is everlasting and exists outside of this temporal simulation of reality. The kingdom realm is of an eternal order. And Jesus came to bridge the gap between two worlds...the temporal and the eternal.

John 6:38-40 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”

1 Timothy 1:15
It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost.

Jesus accomplished the work the Father gave him to do...,

Jn 17

4 I glorified You on the earth by accomplishing the work which You have given Me to do. 5 And now You, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world existed.

Dan 9
24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city,
to finish the transgression,
to make an end of sin,
to make atonement for iniquity,
to bring in everlasting righteousness,
to seal up vision and prophecy
and to anoint the most holy place.

This = the cross.

Hi Davy, and yes sir that is very true, but I said main work. When Jesus said the reason he was sent to declare the good news of the Kingdom, I believe him sir.

There are actually three reasons he was sent, 1st to preach that good news as we spoke, secondly like you stated he came to die in our behalf, and although most people are unaware of this he came to prove that man could live God's laws without sinning. Remember, the issue is being observed by the demons as well as faithful angels, so that proved that man was not a selfish defective creation as satan indicated in Job 2:1-5

I am ignorant of a prophecy about Jesus dying on a stauros however, do you know of a passage that would indicate he was to die on what you call a cross sir?

Yes sir, I like that point as well. What a glorious day it will be when we are personally granted everlasting life, our main hope.

Jesus did come to die for us so that most enjoyable point you like can happen. But he personally said the main reason he was sent was to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God Luke 4:43. He also came to die for our sins, as well as to prove that man was not a defective creation as satan indicated at Job 2:1-5

I guess many are too lazy to even look up the Hebrews 2 and 1 John 3:8 Scripture I referenced...

Heb 2:14-15
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
KJV

1 John 3:8
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

KJV

Jesus was ordained to be born in the flesh of woman in order to die on the cross, so as to defeat death and the works of the devil. And BY THAT is how He offered those who believe on Him eternal life.

And that... was... His MAIN WORK He came to earth to do, as written there.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 4:17 (John the Baptist also told us this), "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Most people don't understand what this means. I believe it means that if we repent, we will have peace of mind. We don't have to wait.

Peace of mind over repentance is definitely instantaneous Bob. Serving Jehovah wholesouled provides continuous contentment, or peace of mind as you say sir.

What was Jesus' main work?
OP ^

1) Be naturally delivered from the Womb of a Virgin Jew, betrothed to a man of the House of David. (Securing the legal status of a Jew; entitled to inherit Abraham’s Promised Land, and entitled to sit on king David’s everlasting Throne.)

2) Minister, Teach, Reiterate Gods Holy Word to the Lost Jews.

3) Pick some Lost Jews, to Listen, Hear, Repeat Gods Holy Word to fellow Lost Jews and thereafter All other Tribesmen.

4) Pick a Jew with Gentile Roman Citizenship, to be taught by the Holy Spirit, thereafter teach Gentile common folks, Gentile kings and any Jews.

5) Willingly given his (God prepared) Body unto (witnessed as a very public) death;

6) His departed soul, visit hell, preach to the saved souls in hell. (Suspect; to notify them they would soon being escorted to Heaven.)

7) (soul returns to body) Body risen up to be seen, walking about, talking with people.

8) Via teaching orally, “ EXALTING GOD “, Via revealing small miracles, Via His Public Bodily death, His resurrection;
An EXPRESS EXAMPLE for men to SEE, the expectation for themselves IF they BELIEVE to the Day they Physically Die.

9) Offer ALL of man-KIND...
** A) a Promise of Salvation
** B) a Receiving of Salvation (if they believe when they physically die) called: With God.
** C) a Receiving of Salvation while alive in their Flesh, IF they Convert, and become spiritually Crucified With Christ Jesus. Called : With God and IN Christ.

10) A Promise to NOT Be Subject to Gods Anger, Tribulations or Wrath, God shall send down from Heaven...
IF they are converted.
On a Surprise Date.

11) A Promise of a Resurrected BODY; Holy and Glorious.

12) A Promise of Occupancy In the Lord 1,000 yr Earthly Kingdom and the Lord God Permanent Earthly Kingdom.

13) A Promise to SEE God as He IS...and SEE ones own BODY in the likeness as Gods Body.

(Other things too, hard to pick...but these are Highlights).

Glory to God,

Yeah, so WHY don't you believe what Lord Jesus said in John 5:28-29 that BOTH resurrection types happen on the day of His 2nd coming?

Apostle Paul also admonished the brethren that it was his desire that there be a resurrection for both the just and the unjust (Acts 24:15). Why would Apostle Paul wish for the unjust to be resurrected also? Just so they can be told they're going into the future "lake of fire"? No, of course not. It shows Paul's hope that at least some of them might CONVERT TO CHRIST during that future 1,000 years reign by Christ and His elect.

Do you not know the job of Christ's Church in that future "thousand years" reign of Revelation 20? Jesus promised to make His faithful Church priests and kings, and we shall judge angels (1 Corinthians 6:3). What's the job of a priest in The Gospel? In OT times a priest's job was to read God's Word to the people and give them the meaning. In NT times it still is that, but mainly to preach The Gospel of Jesus Christ to those who have not heard.

In that future time after Christ's future return, it is written that there won't be a need to tell anyone to KNOW The LORD, for we shall all know Him in that future Millennium.

Jer 31:34
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, "Know the LORD": for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
KJV
