The Holy Spirit will not speak to you about your failures, your past mistakes or what you have to do to be right with God.

You are the righteousness of God in Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:21 and God dwells in you, 1 Corinthians 3:16.

The Holy Spirit will speak to you about Jesus, He glorifies Jesus, He glorifies the Christ in you and all that He has done for you.

John 14:26, But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

God speaks to you through His Son. When you have a relationship with the Son, you have a relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit dwells in you.

Hebrews 1:2, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.

Do you agree that the Holy Spirit will not speak Himself, that is to say, speak on His own accord or on His own initiative, or on His own authority, or His own words, but only speak what He hears?

An example; A man prophesied something and the hearers doubted what he had said and then the man says; "This is the Holy Spirit speaking! Do not doubt me ever again!"

Would the Holy Spirit say something like that in according to His words or not?

Although I am aware of John 14:26 in how the Holy Spirit was to bring in remembrance of all things Jesus has said unto us, in regards to Him speaking through us to others, He speaks what He hears which is what the OP is about in how the Holy Spirit will not speak from Himself of His own words, but speak what He hears.

If each member will discern this truth about the Holy Spirit, then God may help some to discern that tongues without interpretation cannot be a prayer language of the Holy Spirit, and they should discern that supernatural tongue as not of Him to go to Jesus for help to shun it and pray normally at that throne of grace like every other believer.

Basically this passage is simply saying that the task of the Holy Spirit in the scheme of redemption is to be a messenger who bears witness to Christ. In this regard, the Holy Spirit promotes Christ and his work of redemption.

Oh yes, there is a huge change of lifestyle, for the better, albeit slowly with repentance, not penitence. Repentance and penitence are not the same.

The Holy Spirit does:-

• He intercedes for us with groaning, prompting us to pray, (Romans 8:26)
• He searches our hearts (Romans 8:27)
• He talks to us (Acts 13;2, 16:6-7, Revelation 2:7)
• He teaches all things (John 14:26)
• He reminds us of scripture (John 14:26)

As God enables me, let me explain.

The reason why the lost books of the Bible are not in the 66 accepted books of the Bible is because it was running against the truth in scripture. That means no lie can be of the truth for why those lost books are NOT in the Bible.

Jesus warned believers that they will need to discern who loves Him in keeping His words from those that did not; John 14:23-24 & John 15:20

When Bible versions copy right stipulates that a certain number of changes in the wordings and number of words in order to get its copyright as a Bible version, how can we be sure if the message is not lost in making a Bible version; not to make it easier to read, but for the love of money?

So when John 16:13 says in all Bibles that the Holy Spirit cannot speak for Himself but can only speak what He hears, then He cannot turn God's gift of tongues which was for speaking unto the people as prophesied and turn it around for His own use in uttering His intercessions back to God.

Then something is amiss in Romans 8:26-27 in the modern Bibles, ( except for the KJV and a few others ) when the wording is changed to imply that the Holy Spirit is actually giving His intercessions audibly.

So we go to the Greek at this link below:

stenagmoiV is the second Greek word from the end of verse 26 meaning.... "from stenazw - stenazo 4727; a sigh:--groaning." If you click on that blue Greek word, it will pop up the definition in a bar at the bottom of the page.

alalhtoiV is the Greek word at the end of verse 26 meaning......"from a - a 1 (as a negative particle) and a derivative of lalew - laleo 2980; unspeakable:--unutterable, which cannot be uttered."

So in reading verse 26 at that site in English, that means even the groanings of the Holy Spirit cannot be uttered; hence no sound at all.

8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Verse 27 is actually a testimony of Jesus Christ as He is the One that searches our hearts as per Hebrews 4:12-16 and thus He is the One that knows the mind of the Spirit for how the unspeakable intercessions are known to God the Father because Jesus knowing the mind of the Spirit, intercedes for the Spirit's behalf of the Spirit's unspeakable intercessions for us.

8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what [is] the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to [the will of] God.

So when we lean on Jesus for wisdom in discerning and understanding His words in John 16:13, then we can see how the truth in John 16:13 in ALL Bible versions exposes the error in modern Bibles of how they testify of the Holy Spirit in having intercessions for us in Romans 8:26-27.

That is why God's gift of tongues as prophesied was for speaking unto the people ( 1 Corinthians 14:21 ) and will always comes with interpretation to profit the body withal. 1 Corinthians 12:7

1 John 4:1-6 warned believers not to believe every spirit but test them as any believer thinking the Holy Spirit is coming over them apart from salvation bringing tongues without interpretation and thus assumed to be a prayer language, that was not the Holy Spirit when He was already in us as promised for coming to and believing in Jesus Christ at the calling of the gospel ( 2 Thessalonians 2:13-15 ). That is why the apostle John touched on how those in error will speak as the world speaks in supernatural tongue which is gibberish.

Regardless of what Romans 8:26-27 says in that modern Bible, believers need to go to John 16:13 and see that as declared as truth in all Bible versions, that Romans 8:26-27 in that same modern bible is a lie and the truth can be found in the KJV as no lie can be of the truth.

Since man was created in His image and male being the established hierarchy over the woman, as Christ is over the man, then the Spirit OF God with God being male, makes the Spirit male as well in being a He in representing masculine God ( not necessarily meaning gender ).

I believe the use of "itself" was to keep that verse true in testimony because the Holy Spirit is not really giving His intercessions Himself when they are unspeakable. He does make them for us in having intercessions for us, but He cannot give them. Jesus Christ knowing the mind of the Spirit is how the intercessions of the Spirit's are known to God the Father.

So the mind of the Holy Spirit serves as a means for His intercessions to be known as He relies on the Son of God to know the mind of the Spirit, thus it cannot be Himself when He is not really giving His own intercessions, but itself as being the means by which His unspeakable intercessions are known.

So when you look at the reality of how the Holy Spirit CANNOT speak for Himself, then He cannot really be giving His intercessions by Himself but by the Son knowing the mind of the Spirit because His intercessions, although He has them, are unspeakable and thus unutterable.

That is how truth lines up in scripture...when all of them says the same thing as there can be no lie of the truth.
