Actually I don't get why this is so important to you. God is everywhere and that is all I need to know.
Then I don't know why you are here, or even bothered to post in this thread.
In fact, why bother to preach anything to me, when you don't even care to explain anything.
Why not just believe what you want and forget posting on threads for Bible study?
Many have lost faith in God, simply for that reason... not being given an explanation for what they are told to believe.
I am glad Jesus and his followers did not set that example.

They would first have to have faith to lose.

But I'll tell you what to believe:
"For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."

This thread is about what is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God. Just like the Father is God, and the Son is God. I've already said that. Why have you been insulting multiple times? I have the Holy Spirit and have matured the fruit of the Spirit so have been long-suffering with you, but when I see there is no receptivity toward my posts, I dust off my feet and go on to subjects that make the difference between salvation and being hell-bound. I'll leave the inconsequential rabbit trails and rudeness for you to deal with God about. He will chastise those he loves and need their fruitless branches cut off.

1) how did Jesus used the holy spirit to cast out demons.
2) how did Jesus pour out the holy spirit on his disciples.
Two questions, one answer: the human body is 'pre-wired' to transmit the Holy Spirit. Once we get empowered, like the disciples were by Jesus, we can lay hands in the name of Jesus hence transmit the Holy Spirit via our hands. Not everyone will have the same power, just like a sick person can barely lift a few pounds while a very healthy, sturdy and trained person can lift a couple hundred pounds, but everyone can do it.

It is like the parable of the ten talents, 5 talents and one talent.

I'm sorry 1stCenturyLady, if that came across as being rude.
I certainly don't want to be rude to you or anyone else.
I am just wondering why you would bother to come on a thread and post anything to the poster of the OP, if you are not interested in a discussion, but simply are concerned with holding to what you believe.
I think in a case like that, the Bible Study forum would not be the place to be.
If you disagree, can you please explain.

You said, the OP is about What is holy spirit, and you gave your answer, and that is true.
If that is all you wanted to do, that's fine with me.
I would never want anyone to feel they need to stay on a thread if they don't want to, but I have to ask... you posted quite a lot, on sin, born again, what it means to be Christian...
Were you preaching at me, because those are not about the holy spirit?

I simply asked for an explanation, on scriptures related to God's nature, which is very much related to the OP, since the question of what is holy spirit, involves God, and his nature, and you seem to be suggesting that I have no right or basis for doing so.
I think it's because those questions challenge the belief you hold, and requires giving consideration to the fact you misinterpreted the scripture you asserts support your belief.

Bible study involves questioning, and yes, sometimes questioning our own understanding of scriptures which we may believe in a certain way.

Yes. We are wonderfully made, by our creator.
I agree, with what you expressed here, so what would you describe holy spirit as, and how would you illustrate and explain it, say to a 9 year old?

I gave you a Bible study, and you rudely asked me why I was giving you a sermon on sin that in my opinion has everything to do with the Holy Spirit so is in line with the title of the post (without addressing any of the scriptures I gave.) Not growing in the fruit of the Spirit will cause you to keep stumbling and not maturing.

Here is how I explain Trinity which makes it easier to understand the Holy Spirit than an isolated definition:
1- God as the Father is Absolute, external to creation
2- God as son is Jesus
3- God as Holy Spirit is the divine grace working in creation
