He has Lorditus!Somehow, this verse is proof text to you that Jesus' name is Jehovah?
Simple. I as a worker (servant) have several bosses. They are each "boss". I walk into a room with two "Bosses", and say "Boss". Both turn to me and say, "Yes?" "Boss" was with "Boss". Now go read John 1:1 again. It's not "clear" one little bit that is the context of John 1:1 - unless you read it into the text. How can anything BE something and WITH that same thing at the same time?
Yes. The Son (JEHOVAH Jr., context. Gen. 17-19) was standing on earth, calling fire (symbol of the Holy Ghost) down from Heaven from His Father (JEHOVAH the Ancient of Days).Somehow, this verse is proof text to you that Jesus' name is Jehovah?
Try quoting what I provided and do not add to JEHOVAH's word:Hos 1:4- And the Trinity said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and We will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. - RCV (Ridiculous Church)
Try quoting what I provided, and do not add to JEHOVAH's word:John 1:1- In the beginning was God-the-Word, and God-the-Word was with Themselves, and the Word was God, too.
2-The same was in the beginning with Themselves. - RCV (Ridiculous Church)
You are beginning to get it. Two Beings/Persons that are by nature Deity, both called JEHOVAH. It is their family name. The Father's name is JEHOVAH, and thus so too is the Son, JEHOVAH Jr.Gen 19:24- Then God #1 rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from God #2 out of heaven! - RCV (Ridiculous Church Version)
You do not seem familiar with Bible substitution. I did not add. I substituted - just like Jesus did.You just did- AGAIN!
Let me ask you this, for clarification purposes.RC, I wish you had the desire to learn.
Boss. Bosses. Not the same thing. Try again.Simple. I as a worker (servant) have several bosses.
You answered your own question. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzLet me ask you this, for clarification purposes.
How long has the Father been the Father, Eternally, or from some point in Eternity?
It's easier to repeat the mantra's one is indoctrinated with.RC, I wish you had the desire to learn.
"O Sacred Heart of Jesus, have Mercy upon us! O Sacred Heart of Jesus, have Mercy upon us! O Sacred Heart of Jesus, have Mercy upon us! Amen" - a prayer I was forced to say when I went to Catholic school! It's easier to repeat the mantra's one is indoctrinated with.
War is PeaceFreedom is SlaveryBig Brother Loves YouJesus is not only the son of God
Wait. You’re serious?! Guess what? Not every son has the same name as their father.Yes. The Son (JEHOVAH Jr., context. Gen. 17-19) was standing on earth, calling fire (symbol of the Holy Ghost) down from Heaven from His Father (JEHOVAH the Ancient of Days).
That's not exactly the way I see it. Older organized Christian denominations do indeed lose their zeal over time, and can be infiltrated by doctrinal corruptions or stagnant religious observances. There are always churches who pray for spiritual revival, who wish to reform any corruptions that have entered into the Church.Since satan was going to do to modern Christians (in this time of the end) exactly what worked for him with first century Judaism....why would we bother and waste our time and resources on what was already foretold to take place? Christendom is a mirror image of first century Judaism. History is repeating right under your noses.
By "orthodoxy" I speak of the fundamental beliefs that define a particular religious entity. JWs have their "orthodoxy." And historic Christianity has its own "orthodoxy." What is heterodox to traditional Christians may be orthodox for JWs. Arianism is heresy to traditional Christians. JWs embrace the idea that Jesus is a kind of "super human."Since when has “orthodoxy” been a measure of truth?
If that was the case then nothing could move forward as new ideas and concepts replace old worn out beliefs and ideas that are now of no value.
No, the foundation of truth for the Church was laid by the apostles. That does not change. Conditions in the world change, requiring a change in methodologies, but doctrine does not change.God’s revelation of truth has always been progressive....we are not stuck in the past with centuries old beliefs that came directly from an apostate church.....one foretold long in advance.
We have moved on and extracted ourselves from that disunited mess. (Rev 18:4-5)
No, Constantine tried to manage a semblance of unity by resolving a doctrinal crisis among Christians within the Empire. A Creed was established determining "orthodoxy" in the matter of Christology, but this was based on fundamental biblical teaching in the Scriptures. The Scriptures emerged as the basis of Christian orthodoxy before Catholicism had become the preeminent and exclusivistic. So where does “orthodoxy” originate in the church system? All foundational beliefs held in Christendom originate from the Roman Catholic church....Constantine was the prime mover of that false religious counterfeit....a pagan Roman Emperor is responsible for the beliefs you all hold in common....
The Protestant Reformation emerged to challenge some of the errors of Catholic doctrine. Again, the apostles laid the foundation of Christian doctrine--not Constantine, and not the Catholic Church. The Scriptures provide us with the proper rule for Christianity. What passes for “Christianity” today is nothing more than modified Roman Catholicism....and anyone who thinks the Catholic Church represents the teachings of Jesus Christ....is delusional.
Yes, I'm not saying anything more than JW belief is, from my perspective a *kind of* Arianism--obviously not precisely the same religious movement. Thank you for the clarification. It has similarities, as Arius denied that Jesus was God....but Arius also believe that God was incomprehensible.....an unknowable God. We know God through the teachings and characteristics of his son...to know the son is to know the Father...because he is “the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.” (Col 1:15 NASB) As the firstborn of all creation...that makes him part of that creation. (Rev 3:14)
And how does a visible man become the image of an invisible Being?...only in character and personality.
Yes, Arianism dominated for some time before it was expelled by the Church universally. How can I own what I never declared? You declared it but it isn’t the whole truth. Arianism was accepted for quite some time until the trinitarians took over and derailed Christianity again. The God of Israel was not three gods in one head....he was unambiguously.... “one Yahweh”. (Deut 6:4)
By your definition Trinitarianism is false, yes. But I don't use your definition. The unique being that became the man Jesus has a God and is called his “servant” and his “high priest”.
Can the “Most High” God serve himself in these capacities? Has he ever? Or have these avenues of service been only open to human servants of his? And since Christ’s priesthood is served in heaven, and he still calls his Father “my God” (Rev 3:12)....it appears as if your pet doctrine is undermined and shown to be false.
I'll let God decide who is a "sheep" and who is a "goat." I have no doubt there are "sheep" among JWs and among conventional Christians. Sheep can be lost!To be saved, one has to do more than claim to be a servant of his God....label wearers will not make the cut. A goat in sheep’s clothing is no better off than the wolf who is also disguised the same way.
Jesus knows those who belong to him...We can allow him to decide who is a “sheep” and who is a “goat”, as both are claiming to be “clean” in God’s eyes.
No, you can't find the Trinity in the OT Scriptures because the revelation of Christ had only come, in the OT era, in the form of theophanies and spiritual manifestations. As to who is a hypocrite in Christianity, I agree that we should all do the works Christ put before us. God will judge the failures.Salvation is open to all who accept the sacrifice of Christ and repent of their sins and bring their lives into full harmony with Christ’s teachings. It’s the “teachings” that determine what a person feels obligated to do..... or to excuse what they fail to do...
For most in Christendom, it is what they fail to do, and they choose to do the opposite of what they profess.
Who is the God that Jesus served? We must serve the same God...not the one invented by the Catholic Church gradually ushered in over hundreds of years after his death and resurrection.
The God of Israel is unchangeable.....so he could not be transformed into a threesome if he never was to begin with. Can you find Christendom’s god in the Hebrew Scriptures?
Nations are subject to "times." Sometimes they will welcome someone knocking at the door. At other times there is resistance to religious evangelization. Christians are called to exhibit the works of Christ to the world. That does not always require elaborate evangelism. We exhibit Christ by loving others in our society. People need to pick up on what God is saying to them--that is their responsibility.Who are out there preaching this message in obedience to Christ’s command....? When was the last time a member of any church came to my door with the good news of the kingdom? (Acts 20:20; Matt 10:11-14) The answer for me is..... “never”.
"Denominations" is simply "names," like naming your children. Since there are a diversity of political organizations on earth, ie states, there will be divisions among Christian organizations. There will be "denominations."True Christians are NOT dotted here and there in a disunited and bickering church system created by men....they are a single separated brotherhood because Jesus has been separating them out for over 100 years now, as the “Gentile Times” run their course in these “last days”.
When Jesus said they would “grow together”...he meant in the world....not in individual churches who teach all manner of things that have no scriptural foundation. All must believe one truth, for the simple reason that truth does not come in varieties or flavours.....or denominations.
