Zechariah 14:1-4
Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
Incredible!!!Wrong time
Zechariah 14 was fulfilled in first coming of Christ. It tells us about the fall of Old Testament congregation. Making the way for remnants to flee into the New Testament congregation where Christians observe the feast of tabernacle since Pentecost.
Nothing to do with current war in Israel today.
Incredible!!!
When did JESUS literally stand on the Mount of Olives and cause a literal splitting of the mountains for the fleeing Israelites?
When did JESUS go forth and literally fight the literal nations that came against Israel?
Zechariah ch14 is His Second Coming
NOPE - Wrong againYes, incredible! :)
You are asking for a literal narrative but you are not going to get it. It is spiritually discerned!
Actually, Christ DID come to Earth literally and He DID plant His feet very literally upon the mount of Olives.
However, Zechariah is more concerned with His coming to earth Spiritually, and planting His feet on Mount Zion in judgment. And the mountain did remove, and the remnant of the people did flee, and the valley was their path to freedom. It was the escape of the remnant of God's people from His executed judgments upon the enemies in Jerusalem. For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion. The zeal of the LORD of hosts has done this.
Matthew 26:30-32
A literal precursor of the Spiritual judgment of Christ that the remnant may escape, and indeed consequently the judgment of the people there as God leaves them desolate and takes the Kingdom from them. The cleaving of the mountain (Kingdom) to east and west that God's people may escape His judgment.
- "And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
- Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
- But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee."
Allow me to explain...
You need to understand that the Bible is a Spiritual book, not a seismologist's ledger. God's not interested in splitting literal mountains, except to make the point about the cleaving of the Kingdom that a way be made for the Remnant to escape.
Zechariah 14:4
Matthew 17:20
- "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south."
Casting out devils is associated with Matthew 17 because it is a kingdom He Christ spoiled, bound Satan so that He might free the captivity of Israel. It is the faith of Christ that moves this mountain, and the mountain in view is not a physical mountain, but a spiritual one! Don't forget that the mountains in God's Word represent KINGDOM. And the kingdom that was removed by the faith of Christ was the one that suffered violence, and that the violent took by force. This kingdom was split in two, making a valley that a way could be made for the remnant of the Old Testament congregation to escape into the New Testament congregation, the church. The destruction of the kingdom (mountain) cast it into the sea creates a valley that God's people therein might escape. This was fulfilled in Christ Jesus by His Faithfulness and His cross. Not 2023.
- "And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you."
Incredibly misguided in your reading of scripture as you cannot discern literal from symbolic. But who said Zechariah 14 was at His second coming? Was it God's Word itself or you and your teachers? Did you not read my previous posts, or better yet the passage in question? Where does it say the Lord defeated the nations? Look at the verse you quoted--do you think the Lord went forth against those nations and didn't defeat them? Doesn't the context show He defeated them? So your question seems contrived. We can see from comparing Scripture with Scripture that to understand the symbolism we need to recognize that Jerusalem, the holy city and bride of God, is representative of the congregation, the People of God. In the Old Testament, that was the Jews (Israel). Zechariah 14 is in reference to their captivity, the apostasy that had gripped THAT congregation, and this warfare in His congregation (Matthew 11:12) that ushers in the Messiah Himself and His messianic peace, comfort and the (millennial) Kingdom age. This time of Christ's first advent is when the Lord defeated the nations/gentiles that came against His people. Not Roman armies, not every physical nation in the world, and not at the end times in His second advent, but these nations were defeated by the Lord and by His army in their testimony. That's not rhetoric but confirmed by Scripture. It was by the shedding of His blood that they were defeated.
Daniel 9:26
Indeed the people of the Prince ARE THE JEWS who did destroy the city and sanctuary, and consequently, the kingdom was taken from them and given to another. These were the nations that came against Jerusalem, as Christ this Prince, was delivered to the Gentiles for crucifixion by His own people! Selah! This language of delivering to the Gentiles is not coincidental, as it illustrates His people were working as Gentiles against their own Prince. Look, the word, "Gentiles" simply means anyone is not a Jew, an alien or foreigner from Israel. Anyone who is not the true Jews or children of God are spiritually Gentiles (Revelation 3:9) and at war in Jerusalem. Doesn't matter if you say you are a Jew by bloodline, you are not one in God's eyes. There was no "physical war" going on in Jerusalem when Christ came, so why do you think God prophesied Christ's coming to end Jerusalem's warfare (Isiah 40:1-2) and to bring comfort to her? These are questions that many teachers ignore because it illustrates vividly that the Lord spoke this way. While they want to keep holding to an idea that understanding and city spiritually is of men rather than of God. But the Biblical fact is, she indeed was at war, but not warfare as the world defines it, but as God's Word does. Not by all the literal/physical nations battling against her with guns and missiles as the world defines it, but as God does. Rather it is a spiritual war between two different generations or families, one the messengers and children of Satan and the other the messengers or children of God. It is a war of WORD that comes out of their mouths, not guns! Even as Revelation 12 also depicts. The end result was that Christ came to the mount of Olives (signifying the anointed kingdom), came to Jerusalem as King, freed the children held in captivity, in bondage of Satan and his minions, and judged those who fought against Him. Not in worldly Premillennialists terms, but spiritual.
- "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined."
Zechariah 12:89
The only real question is, when Christ poured out His Spirit of grace upon the house of David (Pentecost), how was Jerusalem under siege by all the nations, and how did God seek to destroy all the nations that came against Jerusalem? When you answer that question honestly, you know that this never spoke of a physical/literal war or nations!! The Lord did defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem and did destroy the nations that came up against her and He did pour out His spirit upon the house of David, and they did look upon Him whom they had pierced. Could it be anymore clearer?!?! It is DONE! Christ accomplished this at the cross. And they did mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, as also confirmed yet again in John 19.
- "In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
- And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
- And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn."
John 19:36-37
It's not scripture "yet" to be fulfilled, it's Scripture already fulfilled! We just need to take God's word as authoritative, rather than listen to the self-serving denials of men snared in Premillennial/Judaism/Zionism - like those who spent time watching youtube on ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
- "For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.
- And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced."
Nope. That is NOT what Scripture says, that's what Premillenarians or Premillennialists say. We should remember to keep that distinction clear so as not to confuse God's actual word with their personal opinions or interpretations. There is no mention of Russia coming against Israel in the end times. It is "the Lord" that fights against the nations that came against Jerusalem. It's a spiritual warfare and a Spiritual desolation and restoration. A Spiritual Temple, City and Reign, a Spiritual Kingdom, rule and a Spiritual King, Spiritual living water and splitting mountain. It's not Physical/Literal.
Zechariah 14:3
- "Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle."
Did the Lord fight against the nations with Jets, bombs and was Iran or Russia the key players? Where is this stated in Scripture? It isn't! The real question is "how" did the Lord fight for the people of Jerusalem? Was it a physical battle among His congregation with physical armies setting Israel free from her enemies, or did He fight for them spiritually, fee them Spiritually and restore them Spiritually? When God talks about going forth fighting against the nations/gentiles to help Jerusalem who is besieged, He is illustrating that there was a battle going on in His congregation (represented by Jerusalem) and He would judge those that have forced His people into captivity.
Revelation 12:7-11
- "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
- And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
- And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
- And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
- And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death."
When was the great accuser cast down and salvation and the strength of His kingdom went forth, all the victory of His messengers accomplished strictly by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony! You seem, it;'s not a battle of swords, guns, Russia or right in front of God's throne in Heaven, but in the kingdom of heaven ON Earth. The Old Testament congregation.
So I would agree with you that it is INCREDIBLE that not very many have a spiritual understanding of God's Word here!
Incredibly misguided in your reading of scripture as you cannot discern literal from symbolic.
Are you a follower of amillennialism?
If you followed scripture you would not be speaking against it.I am a follower of Scripture. Zechariah 14 has been fulfilled...spiritually. Sorry.
Can't do more for you since you obviously refuse to receive the understanding since you rather have the World News to interpret your Scripture. Tsk tsk.
Satan still roams as a lion looking to devour. Not bound.because it is a kingdom He Christ spoiled, bound Satan
Satan still roams as a lion looking to devour. Not bound.
Satan still deceives the nations into battle like Israel, WW1 and WW2 and every other War for the last 2k years. He's not bound.
Satan cannot be bound till the beast of the sea and the beast of the earth are thrown into the lake of fire. So when did this happen in history?
Nope. Satan was not bound. He will be bound once Christ reigns and the man of sin is revealed. It is a biblical impossibility for Satan to be bound in the pit for 1k years until the resurrection happens.just because Satan was bound by the cross
Satan was defeated by Christ's sinless Life, His Self-Sacrifice on the Cross and His Resurrection/Ascension.Nope. Satan was not bound. He will be bound once Christ reigns and the man of sin is revealed. It is a biblical impossibility for Satan to be bound in the pit for 1k years until the resurrection happens.
Has it happened? No.
Has the beast of the sea been cast into the lake of fire? No
Has the man of sin been revealed? No
Satan is not bound by himself or his abilities.

Thanks for your post today I completely agree with youNo, you misunderstood the purpose of Satan's binding. It is Satan's power itself being "bound" FOR THE ELECT! Not for the whole world!
John 17:9
Christ came to save "HIS people," not everyone in the world! Get it?! That's the point Premillennialists (and Postmillennialists) are missing in thinking Christ will come to evangelize or Christianize the whole world. On the contrary, Christ Christianizes "HIS people" from out of the world, and from every nation in the world. In order to do that, Christ had to bound Satan first so he won't be able to devouring the elect of the world, and yet free to devour the wicked and unfaithful of the world. See? Indeed, the very point your theology misses is that Satan "was bound for the sake of the elect." Unfortunately, Premillennialists usually have the idea that he was (or will be) bound for the sake of the whole world so that will be free of literal war, crimes, diseases of mankind on Earth. Which is NOT the case.
- "I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine."
Let me ask you, "what do you think makes the Gospel 'good news' if not the announcement of the defeat and binding of Satan that the salvation of God's people might be accomplished (Matthew 12:29)? How then are the elect set at liberty from bondage if Satan has not yet been defeated and bound? How then could his house be spoiled?
Hebrews 2:14-15
By His death, He bound Satan in the bottomless pit, and set us at liberty (John 8:35-36; Matthew 12:29) from his spiritual prison. For example, he led captivity captive, so that He could give gifts to men, by His death and resurrection. These scriptures finally have to sink in and have some actual meaning, else they are "just words."
- "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;[
- And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage."
Psalms 68:18-20
Salvation has come only because Christ led captivity captive!! Satan, who once held us in bound in his prison house (Luke 13:16), has by Christ been bound and placed into his own prison house (bottomless pit) so that we might be set at liberty. If Satan has not been defeated, then there is no Peace (salvation) with God as yet. But God's word tells us that Christians are at Peace with God through the work of Christ, thus necessarily Satan has been defeated and made powerless against THEM (the elect!). God gave His people the power of the kingdom, that whatever they shall bind on earth, shall have already been bound in heaven, and whatever they shall loose on earth, shall have already been loosed in heaven. The evil spirits are made subject to the saints "because" Satan has been bound. And the reason is so that Christ could build his church.
- "Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.
- Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.
- He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death."
Luke 10:19-20
When Christ gave the Apostles power to pick up serpents in Mark chapter 16, He gave them the power over Satan, whom He had bound from harming them. Not picking up a literal snake but resist the doctrine of the devil! One should always remember that Satan's binding is not to Christianize the whole world, but that the elect could go forth as vessels unto God's word of evangelizing the elect of the world.
- "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
- Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."
So you are wrong to assume that Satan has not been bound yet just because you see so much evil in the world since Pentecost.
Again, just because Satan was bound by the cross does not mean the war ceases. He still roams through the UNSAVED people but will not be able to harm those who are saved (spoiled) by Christ so that their salvation will not be affected. See... Christ kept Satan bound until all Elect has been secured (Revelatino 7:1-4) by the testimony of the Church (two witnesses, Revelation 11), THEN Satan will come out of the bottomless pit and deceive those who have NOT YET SEALED by God, Revelation 9.
Huh? You are deceived by premillennial doctrines which is not biblically accurate.

I agree 100%, the Lord's second coming seen in Zechariah 14 is "Future", yes many have been overcome with delusionIncredible!!!
When did JESUS literally stand on the Mount of Olives and cause a literal splitting of the mountains for the fleeing Israelites?
When did JESUS go forth and literally fight the literal nations that came against Israel?
Zechariah ch14 is His Second Coming
Reformed Preterism In Action AboveIt’s interesting that from Zechariah chapters 12-14 it repeatedly states “in that day” and also refers to events that happened during the first advent of Jesus. This shows that all of the events in those chapters happened around the days of Jesus fi coming.
