Hebrews 2:7 You have made him (In general of Mankind) for a little while lower than angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor;
8 You have put everything in subjection under his feet.”

Genesis 2:10 The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper fit for him.

Thoughts? Most suggest it's speaking of Jesus here, but is there any merit to a different view?

It seems that the writer of Hebrews is mentioning making in the first two verses, then mentions Jesus.

Hebrews 2:9 9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

The only thing that mankind never overcame was death, but now we do see Jesus who had came made in human flesh, who did overcome death itself.

Does speak not of this world but of the world to come in Hebrews 2:5

Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come,
whereof we speak.

Okay, so in Post #1 You posted Genesis 2:10 as it pertains to this world correct? But then only Hebrews 7,8 and 9 excluding the mention of the world to come in verse 5.

Exclude that verse, you do not want to talk about that one?

I just stating what I am talking about. I am not sure what you want to talk about, normally you just quote scripture and just let it speak for itself. You can do that if you would like to.

Does speak not of this world but of the world to come in Hebrews 2:5

Hebrews 2:5 For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come,
whereof we speak.
Note to self

Ephes 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come

If anyone else may have any questions or insights concerning this understanding, we must first realize that the writer of Hebrews, is writing to Jewish people whom were born under the law, and the priests and chief elders learned and knew the scrolls of that old testament. It's something to think about for sure.
