Actually my opinions are not formed by conspiracy theories. Conspiracies are beliefs that are developed by the minority hedging on no evidence. The things I mentioned are based off of the majority and fueled by evidence. So it’s accepting the science when I heed the demonstrated evidence of the overwhelming majority of scientists…. While a conspiracy theorist rejects the scientific consensus of the experts and dismiss their logic and evidence in favor of the beliefs unproven by a fringe group. That makes you the conspiracy theorist my friend.
And you think the experts agree.
Between these ice ages have been periods of warming. The last ice age peaked around 21,000 years ago. This was followed by 10,000 years of warming that brought us to the climate we know now, says David McGee, an associate professor in the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences.

Just like WOKE the media controls information which is usually lies and it is the popular trend to blame human for climate change when everyone knows climate change has been happening for millions of years. AOC blames cow manure maybe it was the dinosaur poop.

And also wars, bombs, missiles, ICBMs, all in the middle east and Ukraine. Then oil fires in Iran, Syrian chemical attacks.
This has nothing to do with global warming, but there are a lot of toxins caused by war munitions. And there was no change in weather noted in Iran due to oil fires. Which brings up another topic, if global warming was occurring at any rate the people in the deserts could not survive.

Yes the scientific consensus has over 99.9% of agreement out of eight million scientists ranging from hundreds of specialized fields.

When it’s just those that study climatology it’s 97%.

The 3%….. look at their qualifications.

Also just to highlight ignorance on a subject. It’s mostly referred to as climate change by experts, not just global warming. Some parts of the globe cools down , such as most deserts, as cooler ice caps melt dropping northern oceans temp down even more cooling the breezes blowing towards the drier lands as humidity moves into those areas…. Something you learn in an environmental ecology class. I’m sure you’re up to date about wind streams and how articles melting affects the northern and southern wind streams…. How do you think it affects them?

Perhaps you should read further on what they said from the very same article.

“But there are also key differences between the last significant period of warming and the modern day. First, today’s warming breaks from the historical cycle. In fact, before human-caused warming began, scientists believe the Earth was roughly due to enter a cooling cycle (although research to confirm this is ongoing).2

The cause of today’s climate change is also different from the planetary forces that set off the breaks between ice ages. In past cycles, changes to the Earth’s rotation kicked off warming by increasing the sunlight reaching icy parts of the Earth. As ice melted, the Earth became less reflective, and retained more of the sun’s heat. That warming led carbon dioxide to move from the ocean into the atmosphere, prompting more warming.”

Just for fun…. Let’s look at some other articles by MIT Mr. Expert. I just want to highlight that this is the difference between someone who knows what they are talking about versus someone who is has no idea and just googling what they think supports their stance. This is elementary. If we start to get into the physics of it…. I have a feeling you’ll quickly find yourself out of what you even know how to google for.

Back in 60's I played outside when the days were consistently around 100 degrees, even up to 110. I would say things have cooled down. Now there is shift, those days use to occur in August, Dog Days of August, now August is more mild. Now you have a bunch of wimps out there, it gets up to 90 degrees and they think they are dying and start running around like Chicken Little screaming Global Warming!

It boils down to the fact that people like to be scarred and scarring others…..Hence the incredible fear of everything….

Deadly lettuce….statistics.
Five people have died and 197 have fallen ill across the country as a result of E. coli infections linked to romaine lettuce,

Sun
More than 5,400 people worldwide die of non-melanoma skin cancer every month.

Air
The World Health Organization estimates that 4.6 million people die each year from causes directly attributable to air pollution. ... Direct causes of air pollution related deaths include aggravated asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, lung and heart diseases, and respiratory allergies.

Water
More than 5 million people die each year from diseases caused by unsafe drinking water, lack of sanitation, and insufficient water for hygiene. In fact, over 2 million deaths occur each year from water-related diarrhea alone. In the U.S. Nearly two million people die annually from contaminated drinking water and unsafe sanitation, which can cause parasitic infections and cholera.

Dog attacks
Typically, between 30 and 50 people in the US die from dog bites each year, and the number of deaths from dog attacks appear to be increasing. Around 4.5 million Americans are bitten by dogs every year, resulting in the hospitalization of 6,000 to 13,000 people each year in the United States (2005).

Birds
Whether you are around them or eat them…Hepatitis and many flu strains and killer viruses come from birds. The death tolls vary from season to season but a million deaths are not impossible. Recently a woman that was trying to get rid of a snake was attacked by an eagle that wanted the snake.

Ground dirt
Each year around 700 000 deaths are attributable to antimicrobial, Radon, lead, and poisons and even strange reactions to dirt that causes them to grow horns out of their skin.

Fresh fruits and vegetables
Raw fruits and vegetables contain harmful germs, such as Salmonella, E. coli, and Listeria, that can make you and your family sick. In the United States, nearly half of food borne illnesses are caused by germs on fresh produce….Millions of illness and hundreds of thousands of death. All natural.....Organic in stores are just word....there is no way of knowing what has been done to those fruits and vegetables or how much urine has been applied to them....If you want fresh fruits and vegetable grow your own in a green house.

Vehicle Accidents
In 2018, in the U.S. 40,000 people died in car crashes. An estimated 4.5 million people were seriously injured in car crashes in 2018. Driving in a car is one of the most dangerous things you can do.

Work related deaths
5,250 workers died on the job in 2018.

Home related deaths
Home related deaths and injuries causing as many as 20,000 deaths, 7 million disabling injuries, and 20 million hospital trips in the U.S. each year. You are more likely to die in a fire in your home than if you lived in a forest.

Vacation related deaths
In 2018, just 724 Americans died from unnatural causes while abroad.

Your are not safe from murder…no where and no time
15000 deaths to murder. Shopping parking lot death are hard to calculate. St. Louis is running about four murders a day....People....kids shot in their home.

Weather related deaths
In 2018, 62,339 weather events resulted in 782 deaths and 1,797 injuries. Heat waves, winter weather, and wildfires were responsible for the most deaths during 2018. The largest number of reported injuries resulted from heat waves, winter weather, and high winds including thunderstorm winds.

Fire deaths
United States fire departments responded to an estimated 1,318,500 fires in 2018. These fires resulted in 3,655 civilian fire fatalities; 15,200 civilian fire injuries; and an estimated $25.6 billion in direct property loss (this figure includes $12.4 billion in losses from major California wildfires).

Between 2011 and 2015, U.S. fire departments responded to an average of 358,500 home structure fires per year. These fires caused 12,300 civilian injuries, 2,510 civilian deaths, and $6.7 billion in direct damage. On average, seven people per day die in U.S. home fires.

Food poisoning
There are 128,000 hospitalizations and 3,000 deaths annually. Home cooked food is usually contaminated because mom and dad are not trained on how to store or prepare foods

Toxic Birthday Cakes....tests on Birthday Cakes have revealed that they have millions of germs on them from people blowing on them.

Choking deaths
The death rate from choking is low at most ages but increases starting around age 74. Choking due to a foreign object resulted in 162,000 deaths

Restaurant food
In the United States, foodborne diseases have been estimated to cause 6 million to 8 million illnesses and up to 9,000 deaths each year. lol 6 to 8.million….make up your mind. And I am sure this included food bought at groceries stores.

Death directly attributed to bacon…zero. Bacon related deaths….not likely
Death by Bacon? Not Likely.

Canned foods are another topic....a lot of people do not like canned foods but canning has probably saved tens of millions of lives....Uncanned foods can have a host of issues that can be fatal.

Again the history of climate change from millions of years ago until now shows it is all normal.

None of that is relative to what is being discussed. We are not talking about headliners or outliers. We are talking about the scientific consensus, over 99% of scientists. 99.9% of peer reviewed scientific papers on climatology agrees. That’s 99.9% of over 88,000 papers by tens of thousands of climatologists.

This is purely about the evidence including meta analysis.

During the Jurassic period, most of what is now California was submerged underwater, meaning sea levels were significantly higher than today, with much of the state covered by shallow seas; the coastline would have been vastly different due to the extensive presence of ocean waters across the region.

Then today they are finding cities that existed thousands of years ago under 200 and 300 feet of water when the Polar Caps were larger. What caused the water to rise thousands of years ago? Camel poop?!!

Are you asking me about the western interior seaway between Laramedia and Appalachia during the mid to late Mesozoic? Just so you know….. what changed that was not sea level changes but tectonic plates ( pacific plate and North American plate ) colliding into one another forming the Rocky Mountains .

So you know, if it counts, to show that I’m not just googling stuff here is me talking about some of this back in 2021. Unlike some people Im actually well immersed in this subject.

While this books is specifically about Alabama it covers a lot of this stuff. Well worth the read. Obviously it’s the Alabama rocks book. Was working on developing a map concerning native ferns and allies of Alabama overlapped by mineral glades looking for “11th finger” abnormalities within gene expressions in ferns. Not completely subspecies, but leaflet lengths the most .

I am just presenting facts, not hypothetical hypothesis about things that cannot be proven. Fact the seas were higher during the Juristic period it does not matter what coast line.

Then lower during the Ice Ages when the water was drawn up to the caps.

And still lower thousands of years ago when cities and roads were built off what is now the coasts.

The climate changed everywhere, the temperature going up and down all the time. The words climate and change is a constant.

None of this was caused by man.

Sure. But you specifically mentioned California which at that time was part of Laramidia and what changed the seaway there was plate collision creating the Rocky Mountains and that uplift pushed the western interior seaway back into what was basically the Gulf of Mexico. I was just answering the specific question you posed, which just happened to be about something I studied in phytogeography numerous times first 8 years ago or so.

First I want to sincerely say that I’m happy that you ignore the drivel of young earth creationism and accept a much older world. I presume you accept the world is roughly 4.6-.8 billion years old since you’re using geological periods. That puts you above the majority here in understanding scientific literature. Just like with Anthropocene climatology, when it comes to the age of the world and universe it’s a scientific consensus of close to 99.9%.

So instead of going back and forth with you I’ll just give you something to consider doing if you ever want to. Just look into why do almost all climatologists accept that the current climate is changing rapidly due to human causes. Look at things like how fast and slow atmospheric gas composition changed, at how long and to what extent oceanic acidification occurred and see how long it took for global temperatures to change before we entered into the Anthropogenic Cycle and after.

You’ll notice that climate change then globally took hundreds of thousands to millions of years to significantly change versus now. The changes we are seeing in a century now took several thousands years before. This was also occurring during much more chaotic times.

The MIT link you cited earlier is a great place to start. You cited a wonderful source, just misunderstood it. Try reading back through it and even emailing the professors. They will most likely respond back. You can pose questions to them.

There are also some really good podcasts that are layperson friendly.

Like I said I stay with facts not hypothetical hypothesis about things that cannot be proven.
And about the current climate is changing rapidly???
According to NASA and NOAA data, the Earth's average surface temperature has increased by approximately 2 degrees Fahrenheit over the last century. Define rapid?

Ya the planet and universe are old, but again as an old person involved with science I can tell you the estimation of the age of everything changes all the time.

Even the Big Bang theory has had revisions. They have realized that solids could not have traveled the distance in the time allotted. So they think that the Big Bang was so powerful that it converted the solids to energy and they turned back to solids.

Yes. As more scientific data comes in, we get better estimates. That’s how science works. We don’t stick with an idea just because we like it, we look at the data. The data, not hopes, drives us in the direction we head.
