Hi @Jesuslove Romans 7.3 is relevant.I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?
Ruth Graham, the wife of famous American evangelist Billy Graham, once said, "I don't believe in Divorce - but I do believe in Murder!"I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?
Ideally that plus.I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?
It's suppose to be, but with the current high divorce rate, people don't keep this vow.I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?
But what about in sickness and in health, addiction is a sickness?Ideally that plus.
However, divorce does happen. There’s addiction in its many forms, abuse in its many forms, etc. Addictiion, abuse, etc are against God’s ways and can result in termination of the marriage covenant. And such blame lies on the sinner, not the victim. For example: an abusive husband is the sinner and the victim wife is blameless as she divorces him.
Discernment in the Lord is critical here. I’ve seen things go both ways. But what about in sickness and in health, addiction is a sickness?
I believe in sticking together through thick and thin, many don't think like that nowadays, it's a materialistic world, and a cheating one as in adultry.Discernment in the Lord is critical here. I’ve seen things go both ways.
That's what is expected by Jesus, so yes.I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?
I personally think that it is but some folks marry an abusive person and I think that will be taken into account by God. I don't think he would like to see this happen to anyone but that is just my opinion. Bless you xoxI don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. WE're going on 57 years. Not planning any changes -I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Is this still realistic?

These are vows that need to be kept however, realistically, people can die or fall out of love. Some folks don't follow this tradtional way of making vows to each other and before the eyes of God. Some folks make their own vows just as they create prenups before taking a partner in marriage. It can almost be like a businss transaction....I don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here, but I hope someone can answer my doubts. Most wedding vows to specify "till death do us part." Actually I would be concerned if my ex-wife was after my afterlife too. I'm kinda happy we're divorced. It was a relief. She was kinda mean to me.I don't know who invented the "til death us do part" bit in the marriage vows but it should definitely be thrown out because it's anti-christianity.
I mean, death can NEVER part people if they're both Christians, not in this life or the life to come..:)
