The cop was beign pushed up by another cop. He was holding onto something and pulling himself up when he saw the gun, and let go..The conversation has moved on but I wanted to respond to your reply. I get that he was there to shoot Trump, but to me it’s significant that he didn’t take a shot at the policeman instead spared from shooting at him. Honestly I know little about politics. But with all the shootings in todays world, a lot in schools….this young man’s actions didn’t fit the regular of shooting everything in sight once the he starts shooting. Like the other shootings in public places…he held off when he could have killed the cop then turned on the crowd and Trump. I’m not sure then he ever meant to hit the man with his family or the others…but it ended that way. Does it matter …no. But to me his mindset seemed different from a trouble teen pissed off at everyone and wanting to die, taking as many down with him as possible. Yes…it was an assignation attempt. But some news outlets said that we can’t call it that yet without the motive. As you said he was there for one thing…to kill Trump.
There was not time to shoot the cop.. And he started shooting before he was ready, probably why he missed and his shots were off..
