And, of course, I know what the response to this will be, but Jesus, as He Himself said, is also the Son of Man, you know. You fully acknowledge that Jesus was fully man, so why do you continue to deny that He was also fully God? Again, I know your answer, because I've heard it literally hundreds of times: "Oh, because the Father was Jesus's God!" Okay, yes, in Jesus's having humbled Himself even while in the form of God and being in the form of man and only regarding Himself as such (Philippians 2), the Father was His God, but now He has reassumed His position at the right hand of the Father. But, the back-and-forth continues, unfortunately...
Can you please tell me, (if what you say is true) how the Father was Jesus’ “God” only whilst Jesus was in the flesh..... if we read Revelation 3:12....he identifies his Father as “my God” four times in that one verse.
The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.” (ESV)

Can one equal part of God worship himself? How, even after his return to heaven, can he still identify the Father as his “God”. The Revelation was given by Jesus (given to him by God) to John (via an angel) at the end of the first century. The chain of command is there, backed up by 1 Corinthians 11:3. So whether on earth or in heaven, Jesus has a “head” to whom he is accountable.

Continued....
Now we can tackle Philippians 2 which has been presented to me more times than I can count, but when you really read what it says, the very opposite of what is assumed emerges....

“Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.(Philippians 2:5-11 -ESV)

Christ was “in the form of God”.......so what form would that be?
Jesus tells us clearly... “
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24 - ESV)
So if God is in “spirit” form, then so are all the inhabitants of the spirit realm....including his son.
It’s the “form” that Christ’s elect will take on at their resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:50)

Jesus “did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped”...so he never once tried to grasp equality with God. This is the most correct translation, not what others imply, that he didn’t think it was “robbery” to be equal with God. A horrible mistranslation.

In his human form he “became obedient to the point of death”...to whom is God “obedient”? Does God need to obey himself? You say he was God all along, even as a human.

Having successfully completed his mission on earth, it goes on to say.... “God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name”....Read that again....how does God exalt himself or give himself a name that is above the name he already has? There is no one higher than God. (Psalm 83:18 KJV)

“so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Bowing to Jesus here is not worship, it is reverential recognition of what he has so selflessly done for the ones he came to save. And every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is “Lord” (not God) to the glory of the son? NO! “To the glory God of the Father.”

This passage of scripture says the exact opposite of what many want it to say.

Frankly - Yes...

Referring to part of the Godhead as impersonal is in-accurate and disrespectful.

I don’t agree with you that that’s what the translators of KJV did but I acknowledge the consistency in your point of view.

*

KJV is an[other] example of disrespect expressed in a trinitarian translation of the Bible which comes down to us from the Protestant Reformation?

You answer, yes. I answer, no.

I can only imagine what KJVO advocates and others who use KJV would say about it.

I don’t have any data to base it on, but I would guess that less than 1% of trinitarians would answer the question as you did. That doesn’t make you wrong but it places you in a position where few trinitarians, I suggest, would ever venture to go. I respect your stand. You’re a man who has the courage of his convictions.

Acts 1:1-3 . .The first account, O Theophilus, I composed about all the
things Jesus started both to do and to teach, until the day that he was taken
up, after he had given commandment through holy spirit to the apostles
whom he chose. To these also by many positive proofs he showed himself
alive after he had suffered.

The Watchtower Society's version of those "positive proofs" is interesting.

In order to show his friends that their savior was back from death, the arch
angel Michael is alleged to have materialized an artificial Jesus that was in all
respects just as physical, and just as functional, as the real Jesus.

However:

1» The New Testament never even one time, on any occasion, nor under any
circumstances, nor in any situation, either attests, alleges, alludes, or states
that an angel named Michael appeared to Christ's disciples cloaked in a
human avatar.

2» The Society's Michael never once let on to his friends that he was an
angel in disguise. He led them to believe that his avatar was the actual Jesus
Christ they all knew prior to his crucifixion.

3» Passing one's self off in the guise of a dead man is the lowest form of
identity theft imaginable. It's what I expect from human beings, but that is
not the kind of behavior I have a right to expect from an arch angel.

4» A so-called materialized body is a counterfeit.

5» Neither Paul, nor Peter, nor John, nor James, nor Jude, ever even one
single instance in any of their writings identify Jesus Christ as an angel
named Michael: not once. You'd think that if Jesus Christ is currently an
angel who goes by the name of Michael, those men would have said so
because that would be a really big deal.

FAQ: Why make an issue of the characteristics of Christ's resurrection?

REPLY: Were I the Devil, I would do my utmost best to disprove the resurrection
of Jesus Christ's crucified dead body because his crucifixion is only half
enough to protect people from the wrath of God. Though his physical body's
death obtains forgiveness for people's sins, its death doesn't gain them
exoneration.

Rom 4:25 . . He was delivered up for the sake of our trespasses, and was
raised up for the sake of declaring us righteous.

The Greek word translated "righteous" is dikaiosis (dik-ah'-yo-sis) which
means acquittal; defined as an adjudication of innocence.

People merely forgiven still carry a load of guilt; viz: they have a criminal
record. The resurrection of Christ's crucified dead body deletes their record
so that on the books, it's as though they've never been anything but 100%
innocent.

This clearing of one's guilt that I'm talking about is obtained via the kindness
and generosity of God through belief in the resurrection of Christ's crucified
dead body. If the Devil can succeed in convincing people that Jesus' crucified
body is still dead or, even better yet, make them question whether the man
even existed at all; then they will fail to obtain an acquittal, and
consequently end up put to death in brimstone because records are to be
reviewed when people stand to face justice at the event depicted at Rev
20:11-15.

Raymond Victor Franz was a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah's
Witnesses from October 20, 1971 until his removal on May 22, 1980, and
served at the organization's world headquarters for fifteen years, from 1965
until 1980.

Mr. Franz resigned, and stated that the request for his resignation, and his
subsequent dis-fellowshipping, resulted from allegations of apostasy.

Following his departure, Mr. Franz wrote a book titled "Crisis Of Conscience"
relating his personal experiences with the Watchtower Bible and Tract
Society, along with his views on Jehovah's Witness teachings. It's a bit
expensive in print form, but might yet be heard audibly for free on YouTube
and/or available as a free pdf download.

Mr. Franz's book, and his interviews, are helpful aids for people wondering if
they made the right decision leaving the Society's fold. It's also helpful for
people thinking about becoming a Jehovah's Witness but reserve some
doubts as to whether they'd be making a really big, life-changing mistake
not easily corrected.

NOTE: Mr. Franz passed away in June of 2010.

Asking Mr Franz about JW’s is like asking a Pharisee what they thought about Jesus....

Those who have been on the receiving end of an “ex” will know that vendettas are not unusual.
They are always the poor victim and the ones who did them wrong (in their mind) are painted as the worst people in the world. It’s all about justification. He knew what apostasy meant and when he did not get his way, he was out for revenge. It’s pathetic. He feeds other pathetic people, all too willing to confirm biases that they already hold. It’s their choice to believe what is said without hearing the other side of the story. Look what happened to Jesus. He told his disciples to expect the same treatment. (John 15:18-21)
This is why judges and juries have to hear both sides of a case before making a decision.....who wants to be convicted with only one very skewed side of a story? You? Apparently so...

I believe theology should flow from revelation, but that is a no go area because it is fraught with the fear of personal interpretation.

I defend the personal aspect of the Godhead because of my personal encounters with Him.

I have also immersed myself in nothing but Scripture for long periods as well as attended formal institutions.

So I listen to what folks say about God first, then consider whether to give attention to their take on more peripheral issues.

It's both tragic and ironic that the Watchtower Society's rank and file door
to-door missionaries go worldwide advertising a kingdom that they
themselves will never be allowed to enter. Here's why.

At John 3:3-12, Christ discusses what he labels "earthly things".

The primary earthly thing discussed was the kingdom of God. The other
earthly thing discussed was a Spirit-birth requirement to enter it. In other
words: God's kingdom on earth, and a Spirit birth, are joined at the hip.

The overwhelming majority of JWs coming to our doors aren't Spirit-born
now, nor do they ever expect to be-- not in this life, nor in the next --yet
they sincerely believe they have a shot at admission to God's kingdom on
earth. However, seeing as how the Spirit-birth requirement is mandatory
rather than optional; they will not succeed.

1John 4:1 . . Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but
test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God,
because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

The Greek word translated "false prophets" roughly defines a supposedly
inspired speaker who's actually on the wrong side of the aisle, viz:
imposters; and they are everywhere, e.g. radio, television, the internet,
social media, in print, and at our very doors.

Jesus said that false prophets are known by their fruits (Matt 7:15-20). For
example: the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's predictions regarding
Armageddon and Christ's return have been incorrect every time. Seventh
Day Adventism's performance hasn't been any better.

Well; if a religion's predictions fail, then we have to assume that its
theology is highly suspect no matter how convincing it may sound.

God IS His own God, inasmuch as a President is his own President, inasmuch a Head of Household is his own headmaster.

WHAT is God accountable to? His own Word. Who is Gods Word? Jesus.
WHAT is the Son of God accountable to? His Father. Who’s is Jesus Father? God.

Every which way one is accountable to the Other...
Gods Will, Gods Word, Gods Holiness, Gods Way, Gods Order...etc.
God IS His own Counselor, and always the Whole of God is in agreement with Himself.

Men have constant turmoil WITHIN themselves...body wants to or does do this, mind wants to or does do that, and heart wants to or does do something else.
It’s internal conflict ... Medical science, has a host of “names” to call those things; Depression, bi-polar, anxiety, etc. etc.
Medical science have “meds” to “control” “suppress” urges.

God has a remedy for curing the internal conflict men experience....
And that cure, is the very basic method for human men become in the “likeness” of God.

Isn’t it great to know that all the attacks and slander from our opposers does not matter even a little bit. It seems to be so important to them. We just preach the good news of the Kingdom and teach all the things Jesus commanded. If someone wants to join us in worshipping Jehovah we rejoice. Those who choose to listen to our opposers can cry out from their roof tops. We just smile and shake the dust off our feet. Hitler couldn’t stop us. Stalin couldn’t stop us. Russia is trying to stop us now but we just won 21 cases in the European Court of Human Rights. Even if we had lost those cases they still couldn’t stop us. If Jehovah is for us who can stand against us.

This is true......let them ramble.....Jesus is the judge, so we will soon see who passes the test, and who is abandoned to their delusions....according to Jesus, the ones who adhere to the weeds' version of 'Christianity' are the last to know...(Matthew 7:21-23)

We'll just keep on telling people about the Kingdom and what it will mean for life on this earth......the majority are not going to heaven and they will be so disappointed.....but God never created humans to go to heaven....we had paradise right here on earth, so there was no need.
dunno

If Adam had not sinned, he never would have died, and neither would his children.....so everlasting life in paradise on earth was God's first purpose for humankind. I have no desire to go anywhere else.
Christ came to get us back what we lost....and that is what we look forward to. (Revelation 21:2-4)

A mediator is defined as one who interposes between two parties at variance
to reconcile them, viz: an intercessor.

Here's a question that someone wrote in to the questions from readers
section of the April 01, 1976 issue of Watchtower magazine, asking:

"Is Jesus the mediator only for anointed Christians? (a.k.a. the 144,000)"

The answer given in the magazine is YES.

The magazine's answer is corroborated on page 1130 of the Society's
publication titled "Aid To Bible Understanding" where it says that the
144,000 are the only ones who have the mediator; a.k.a. Jesus Christ.
(1John 2:1)

Intercession for non anointed Witnesses is accomplished on the coattails of
the 144,000; viz: Jesus Christ is an indirect, second party mediator for the
rank and file via their affiliation with the Watchtower Society.

It's sort of like buying insurance from Allstate. The company doesn't sell
direct; its business is conducted through brokers. In essence, that's what the
Society presumes itself: Jesus Christ's mediation brokerage.

So then; when a JW either defects or is disfellowshipped, their pipeline to
the mediator is broken, and they right quick lose all contact with God; thus
placing themselves in grave danger of the calamities depicted in the book of
Revelation.

Bottom line: According to Watchtower Society theology; it is impossible for
non-anointed people to be on peaceful terms with God apart from affiliation
with the Society's anointed class, a.k.a. the faithful and wise steward.

In other words: Christ's mediation for rank and file JWs as per 1Tim 2:5 is
accomplished via a chain of communication that begins with Christ's
association with the faithful and wise steward; and from thence to the rest of
humanity. Removing the faithful and wise steward from the chain cuts
humanity off from Christ; thus leaving them with no way to reconcile with
God.

NOTE: I've had JWs tell me that the Watchtower magazine isn't their
authority in matters of faith and practice. But the Jan 1, 1942 issue of the
magazine, on page 5, speaks for itself as a trustworthy source of
Watchtower Society theology by saying:

"Those who are convinced that The Watchtower is publishing the opinion or
expression of a man should not waste time in looking at it at all. Those who
believe that God uses the Watchtower as a means of communicating to his
people, or of calling attention to his prophecies, should study The
Watchtower."

In other words: the haulers of water and the hewers of wood-- John Q and
Jane Doe rank and file --are not only expected to know what's in the
Watchtower magazine, but they're also required to accept it as God's
providence.

@Webers_Home are you serious? You quote old publications as if we treat them as scripture....we don't. We are always updating our knowledge because Proverbs 4:18 tells us that 'the light on the path gets brighter as the day dawns' and that has been our experience. We update our knowledge all the time, as new facets of spiritual gems are discovered they are shared with us on the basis that these men never claim to be prophets, just shepherds.....so quoting old publications is like quoting old textbooks that have been revised and updated. 1942? 1976? "Aid to Bible Understanding"? You clearly haven't got a clue about us other than what you have gleaned from our opposers and "ex's" hate sites. Those who love garbage always have their nose in the trough.
You are looking a bit silly right now.....like I always say...those who can't defend, attack. Is that really all you can do?
rolleyes

None of what you quoted is current....."the faithful and discreet slave" that Jesus said he would appoint at the time when he was due to return and who would give his fellow slaves their "food at the proper time" are hard at work and have been for many decades. (Matthew 24:45-47) That means that what we need to know will be provided when we need to know it. That slave exists because we are waiting for the final judgment as we speak....every day is a day closer.....we believe that the ones who guide us are the ones that Jesus appointed. You are free to find you own 'slave' who will be busy directing the global preaching work that our Master assigned to Christians in these last days. (Matthew 28:19-20)
All the best finding 'him'.....

You are on a bit of a vendetta like others here whom I choose to ignore.

I guess I will just add you to the list....

Don't look now, but we were created 'according to God's likeness'....'in his image'....and that was in our mortal flesh.

The point was Jesus has always been the Word of God, long before Jesus appeared in the “likeness” as an earthly man.

Mortal means will die.
Mortal flesh IS subject to die. Must die. Adam was not created to Die.
Adam was created in Gods “likeness”.
Adam was warned “eat of this tree” and he would “die”.
Stands to reason when Adam “ate of that tree”, he Became “mortal”.

Jesus’ appearance in the “likeness” as an earthly man, is our Teacher of HOW earthly men born in sin, CAN become “born again” and become made in God “likeness”. “Immortal, NOT human”.

Christ came to get us back what we lost...sinless human perfection....

Human is mortal flesh.
God is not “making” dead humans, alive humans.
God shall “restore” dead mortal human flesh FROM BEING “mortal and human flesh”.

with the coming of God's kingdom, there will be no ageing, sickness, suffering or death...none of those things will ever plague the human race again. (Revelation 21:2-4)

There will be no “mortal human” race.

Please help me to understand what is meant here. If Jesus was "a god" then He could be THE God or a false god. What else could this mean? How can Jesus be "a god"?

"The word was a god"?
OP ^

Perhaps a parallel to you. You have thoughts, you may or may not want to share your thoughts, if you choose to share your thoughts, you have the ability to make sounds come forth out of your mouth in words.

If you send your word forth out of your mouth, and other men standing by with ears that hear, can they hear your words and thus know your thoughts?

What if you could send your word forth out in ink, in text, in sky writing, in a book? Can other men SEE your words and read them?

When your word goes forth out of your mouth, does your word still remain in you, in your thoughts?

God sent His word out of His mouth;
NOT in ink, NOT in text, Yes in the “likeness” as a man.
God sent His word out of His mouth;
And directed men to set His word in Print, in ink on paper. Make copies, and distribute the copies.

How about a ventriloquist doll? Can we send forth out word out of our mouth and make our word “appear” to come forth out of a “doll”?

How about a recorder, a computer, a robot that is fashioned in the “look” as a man? Are we not giving the “impression” of attempting to mimic what God did?

How about when men attempt to speak FOR others? We call that attempting to put words ‘In our mouth’. Those words are not ours, and may be true or false. (You can observe that all day long on this forum!), and in the media and the 24-7 repetitive (mind brainwashing) pseudo news stations, Those are opinions being used in a “gaslighting” fashion to influence the listener to believe the “commentators” opinion IS a fact.

Gen 1:
[1] In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
[2] And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
[3] And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

^ Our first notice, Gods word comes forth out from God.
All throughout the OT we can discover God said, this and that.
Then there is this...foretelling.

Isa 11:
11] So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

^ Gods Word...it...in Heaven....goes forth out of Gods mouth....
goes....is a thing....goes to a thing.... prospers....accomplishes...
returns to God.

Luke 1:
[30] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
[31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
[32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
[33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
[34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
[35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee (you WILL CALL JESUS)....and shall be .... called the Son of God.

^ Holy Spirit over shadows Mary...Mary “conceived” Pregnant in her womb...shall call that holy thing Jesus...that holy thing Shall be called the Son of God.

JESUS, on about the age of 30 years old...being prepared to Preach...
VOICE from Heaven...
Heb 5:
[5] So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

^ Now since THAT day, Gods Word, that holy thing, called Jesus, is that day MADE and thereafter CALLED......Son of God.
Foretold prophecy, manifested.

All throughout the NT we discover the Word of God and the Son of God’s accomplishments. And then we find He is satisfied with having accomplished all He was sent To accomplish. And thereafter returned to God in Heaven.

John 19:
[28] After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
[29] Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
[30] When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

(Remember how many times, Jews tried to stone Jesus to death, and Jesus ‘escaped’ from them? Ducked away into the crowd? Things were not YET all accomplished.) Even Jesus’ death had to be accomplished for a large crowd to SEE (witness), rather than in some back road alley way in secret. Remember Jews were under Roman rule. Jews were not allowed to put to death anyone, “not even another Jew, being accused of violating Jewish religious laws whereby the penalty was death.”
Even to Jesus’ crucifixion, the Jews were having a dilemma, in getting the Romans to agree to Jesus’ Death, for Him “violating” Jewish Religious laws. It was allowed by a quirky happenstance.)

And a reminder from Jesus Himself;
John 10: [30] I and my father are one.

And Jesus speaks of Himself and speaks to those who believed Jesus;
John 16:
[27] For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
[28] I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
[29] His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
[30] Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.

This is long but brief, and hope it helps in your wondering.

Glory to God,
Taken

Jer 10:10 . . Jehovah is in truth God. He is the living god.

The Hebrew word for "living" in that passage is chay (khah'-ee) which first
appears in the Bible at Gen 1:20 where it speaks of aqua life and winged life.
Then it appears at Gen 1:24 where it speaks of life on land. It appears again
at Gen 2:7 where it speaks of human life and again at Gen 8:1 speaking of
all life aboard Noah's ark.

Flora life is never spoken of as chay. So I think we can limit the kind of life
spoken of by chay as conscious existence; viz: sentient life.

Jehovah is called the living god something like fifteen times in the Old
Testament, and fifteen more times in the New.

I'm unaware of any other gods in the whole Bible identified as living gods;
not even the people of Psalm 82 to whom God said "You are gods". (Those
gods are described as mortal; so they fail to qualify as living gods)

Because of that; I think it safe to conclude that no other god is a living god.
In other words: labeling Jehovah as the living god is a way of saying He is
the only god that's self-existant, i.e. He always was, always is, and always
shall be. This has some serious ramifications because when speaking of
Christ, the Bible says:

Col 2:9 . . It is in him that all the fullness of the divine quality dwells
bodily.

The Greek word for "divine quality" is theótes (theh-ot'-ace) which means:
divinity

Seeing as how theótes is modified by the Greek definite article "ho" then
what we're looking at here in Col 2:9 isn't nondescript divinity, but rather
the divinity. In other words: we're looking at all the fullness of the divinity
of the living god.

Just about everybody on both sides of the aisle agrees that the Word spoken
of at John 1:1 is a god. However: the Word isn't just any god; no, not when
all the fullness of the divinity of the living god dwells in the Word; meaning of
course that the life that's in the Word always was, always is, and always shall
be, viz: the Word is a living god.

John 5:26 . . For just as the Father has life in himself, so He has granted
also to the Son to have life in himself.

When the Father granted the Son to have life in himself just as the Father
has life in Himself, things got a bit complicated because unless Jehovah and
the Word are somehow different names for the same personage; there is
now a surplus of living gods out there.

NOTE: I highly recommend never debating the trinity with Jehovah's
Witnesses because it's far more important, and easier, to prove that Jehovah
wears two hats rather than three. Christianity, after all, is primarily about
the Son rather than the Spirit.

John 16:13-14 . . When that one arrives, the spirit of the truth, he will
guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own impulse, but
what things he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things
coming. That one will glorify me, because he will receive from what is mine
and will declare it to you.

name this "Greek scholar" here

The New Testament by the UNITARIAN George Noyes, reads, "and the Word was God". The New Testament : Noyes, George R. (George Rapall), 1798-1868 : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Unitarians believe only the Father is God. Someone is pulling your leg. Many other translations in history had a god or was divine because they translated more correctly.
A. Kneeland was his name--18 other translations in history= a god. -- James Moffatt, Hugh J. Schoenfield, Edgar Goodspeed had was divine.
